“Not horrible, not great. Not really a drinker”

So I ordered from this company back when I lived in New York. I mean how can you say no to dipping your toes into the wine business for such a low price? We got a box of about 6 bottles of wine, they were ok I guess. One tasted like foot so nah no thanks. My wife liked two of them and the rest were not great. I called to cancel, had an easy time doing it. Maybe they've got worse over the years? But I don't remember having a hard time at all. They quit messaging me to so…I think the other people writing reviews are just $#*!ed

I only got into this as someone gave me a $150 gift card. After all sorts of run-around trying to pick wines and use the gift card, turns out that you have to give them your credit card info, even when you have money left in the gift card. I might have done it (1) I wasn't so irritated already and (2) I had my purse with me. The swapping out process is very limited, there are no prices disclosed at any point during the process.

Entered my email on a questionnaire while bored, and of course got spammed. I figure that will happen when you give out your email. No biggie, just unsubscribe. But just like illegal scammers, hitting unsubscribe just seems to confirm your address is legit and nothing else. They will not stop filling my inbox with spam. From the reviews (and frankly, the business model in general), I can tell this is also how they react to cancellations for their "services." STAY FAR AWAY.

Ordered 6 bottles, only 2 we're drinkable. Most was moldy, vinegar and foul. Their customer care was lovely, till I began voicing dislike. Then I never got so much as an "I'm sorry, how can we make it better?" You can't view available wines Until you order. Look up wineries and you find they all have the same website as Brite Cellars, make 2 wines, and all have the exact same contact address in Milwaukee! My conclusion is they spent all their investment capital on marketing and only had cash to buy spoiled wine by the vat, and they are decanting it in random ratios, labels and make everything up from there. "3 buck chuck" is top shelf by comparison!

I saw this was a fabfitfun partner and had an offer for $50 off my first order. With that, each bottle of wine came out to about $10 each... so my order was about $40. However, when I researched the wines they recommended, I found out they all only retailed for about the same price ($10) at other major wine stores. If you have the 50$ deal, it's worth it, but otherwise, it seems like a rip off if you are paying the full $90 monthly cost. After finding this out, and reading multiple bad reviews, I will be trying to cancel my subscription.

Do not under any circumstances give these people your real credit card number. There are no alternatives for payment so I used privacy.com instead. I have attempted to cancel for months now and they keep trying to charge me for wine I don't want. Thankfully they cannot charge the account otherwise i would have to have blocked them with my credit card company. The wine was overall incredibly sour, bitter, and weirdly tasteless. I get less expensive and better tasting product from my local Aldi

Tip for consumers:
Use a credit card aliasing service, or set a strict spending limit with your credit card provider to prevent unexpected or non-consented charges

Bright Cellars is really only worth it with a hefty discount, but even then it's probably still a waste of energy. The unsubscription process is complicated and unnecessarily difficult, which feels so gross and exploitative. As well, the line you need to call to cancel has been unstaffed multiple times that I tried to call. With so many other wine subscription services, honestly this is just bait. Don't take it.

I tried to use Bright Cellars to arrange a family Zoom-based wine/cheese tasting, mailing identical sets to 6 parties. I started planning this months in advance, first with Hanna, who sent me to Kevin who sent me to Maria. Somehow, they managed to omit the order to my daughter in CA. Having planned the shipments to go out nearly 2 weeks in advance, I was not yet alarmed, and I immediately drew this to their attention.

Over 50 emails later (including multiple assurances that all was well, when it clearly was not), my daughter's shipments did not arrive in time.

If you are thinking of using Bright Cellars for an "experience", I suggest slamming your genitals in a car door. The "experience" is similar, but you can make sure it happens on time.

So I haven't ordered yet because I did research, and I'm here to share my research because it seems to me that people should know what they're paying for. I can't find anywhere else to post this, so here we go. I never take a business at face value when they say they're saving me money. I googled each wine they suggested for me and noticed a few strange things about the "wineries" that offered these wines.

First of all: there was no actual address or names given in the contact section of each winery's site. A real winery will proudly display where they are at, and who to contact.

Second: Every website for each wine looked nearly identical. Even the price was identical, with free shipping on 6+ bottles of wine.

And third: The privacy policy listed an address at the very bottom of each winery's page, and it was the exact same address as Bright Cellars.

That's right. Bright Cellars is pretending to sell you hand picked wines from different wineries, but really it's just their wine with a different label and website. As a wine enthusiast, it seems to me that this is cheating the consumer out of the true experience of wine: history, authenticity, and diversity.

Furthermore: If you take them up on their offer of 5 wines for $38, that drops the price of each bottle down to $7.60. Sure, once in a while you can get good wines for that price. The undiscovered underdogs tilling away in their vineyards alongside family to make a mark in the world based on passion alone. To produce good wine. These are the guys who surprise you with their bottle of $8 wine in the grocery store.

Bright Cellars? We don't know where the grapes come from, who the vintner is, or even what kind of barrel was used. It doesn't seem like that big of a leap to me to assume that their wine, at $7.60 a bottle, won't be that good, and I can see the other reviewers who forked over their hard earned cash tend to agree.

It is extremely difficult to cancel service, which is the reason I would tell people to stay away unless you have no problem getting this service indefinitely. I've tried multiple times and even told them I'm MOVING OUT OF THE COUNTRY, and they still are trying to just put my account on a hold....

It seems they are trying to be helpful and flexible, but I don't appreciate not being allowed to cancel my account.

The first 6 bottles I received were all dry wines that I could not drink. I let them know and asked for them to cancel my subscription. Then a couple of weeks later I received another shipment. I will dispute the charges on my credit card but it is still a rip off.

Tip for consumers:
Run. Do not engage with these people.

I have tried multiple times to cancel my membership. I have called them, texted them, emailed them and when I called. They assured me that they would cancel my membership but I was charged for the following month but didn't receive any wine. I even had the confirmation email to confirm that I canceled. So i took an old rewards debit card and put that as my payment information. So that I won't have to worry about them stealing my money.

This website is so biased because of course everyone only wants to write about a whining/negative experience. I'm so glad I didn't look here before taking the quiz and getting a wine subscription. If you aren't looking for a SUBSCRIPTION then this isn't for you. It's not a one-time purchase (unless you cancel). I look forward to it every month. I'm not a wine snob but I definitely know much more about wine than a few months ago. You can still pause your subscription, let concierge know about what you don't like and receive something else. One time, I tried a wine that tasted too full-bodied and quite bitter. I gave it a couple more sips and leaned into the experience... I ended up liking it a lot! I hope they continue to have more options for loyal customers in the future because I have recommended this to my friends that like wine.

Tip for consumers:
Just know that FedEx who delivers the boxes (at least in my state) are not the friendliest or best carrier. Wish I could pick a different option (maybe I can but I haven't looked into it). Everything else is fab! Best wine delivery service I've ever ordered.

Cheese is a way overpriced, Service is unhelpful, Canceling is hard, Return is impassable, wine is mediocre.
Don't recommend.
I was ordering 6 bottles of wines with a groupon promotion for about $50, when a pop up window with a cheese for wine offer appeared. There were information about 4 sorts of cheese which cost $45 without any volume mentioned. I supposed that I will receive not the cheapest cheese, but approximately in the price range of Whole Food and imaged its amount. When I received these 4 tiny pieces of store package cheese with a total wight of 25 oz, I tried to return it immediately. For that price I could by 3 times of that volume of high quality cheese in Whole Foods. After my second email a concierge said that I can't return the good because of bright cellars policy. Since it's against the law I complied by Consumers Department and waiting for results.

Wine sucked. Got charged $93 for 4 bottles. Horrible price. Just over 24 hours of being charged they refused to refund me. They said I could refuse the package but they would charge me $35. They 100% have time to cancel the package.

I took the wine pairing quiz and ordered wine from Bright Cellars at the beginning of February. I was charged the amount they said I would be (roughly $40). A few days later I noticed an additional charge of $96.23. I received an email where they claimed my order was damaged during the shipping process and they would be resending my bottles for no additional cost. On the 1st of March I received a charge of $114.80! $114 for a supposed four bottles of wine?! I NEVER RECEIVED MY FIRST BOX and today I was charged another $93.44. In total, I am now out $345.26. I have not received a refund and my account is unable to be canceled. Extremely unhappy and at a big loss of money for what was supposed to be four $10 bottles of wine.

I tried Bright Cellars because a Youtuber I really support endorsed it but that was a mistake. The wine tasted awful, they all were bottled the same which leads me to think its all just labeling to make you think it's different. Requested to cancel account immediately and they "cancelled" which means they charge me the next month. Im weary reading the other reviews about ever getting a refund.

I've read some reviews on here but I thought their service was overall great. It states that they process the next order up to 10 days before the next shipment date so that means you must cancel prior to processing (which I did). I thought they did a good job selecting wines based on my interests and questionnaire responses. Love the descriptive card inserts and chilling temperature recommendations! I just don't think I'm much of a "wine drinker". They said they are going to add more services in the future. I think it would be fun to do and split with friends for a monthly party once we can all be social again!

Mediocre wine from a small set of winemakers that you can't find any info on. I rated one wine undrinkable and they sent another bottle from same winery. You can do better buying $20 bottle locally.

The spam is relentless. I signed up and received multiple marketing texts and emails almost immediately.

Wine is decent but overpriced. Figured part of the benefit was trying new things and seeing what works, but the headache of the constant bombardment to "buy more!" was too much. The cheese prices they charge is absurd, I didn't buy any because several of the brands they were pushing I could buy for much less at my local Kroger.

Took two weeks to cancel my account. And I'm still receiving spam.

They automatically sign you up for it monthly and you have no other option, which usually is not a big deal so you go through with it but that's when you find out there's no easy way to cancel. They keep your card number you cannot remove it it's there forever. You can't easily click cancel anywhere they make you email them manually and the only responses you get back are about upselling or finding some sort of compromise to keep you paying. They ignore your requests to cancel over and over and just come up with other ideas to get you to not cancel. After a while i was able to get on the phone with them and after repeatedly saying no please just cancel they finally did it - but i hate that they still have my card info that i can't delete. AVOIDDDDDD.

If they weren't so scummy about payments and trying to keep you involuntarily paying it would have been a great company.

In your account setting/summary, it does not mention anything about shipments of wine or if you are locked into a reoccurring charge. You must email them to cancel your order. This company has a "Scam Artist" feel, I would not order from them or set up an account if you haven't already. As far as their wine. It is overly expensive and not very good quality. It is obvious they are trying to sell cheap wine and make you think that it is quality wine.

I noticed a charge on my account from this company. I called them, I never authorized this. They provided me with an email address which was not mine. They asked me for my address, which I gave them. Then they attempted to deliver the wine it was refused. So they tried again, and refused. They acknowledged the wine was refused but will not give me my money back. They told me to go to the bank. They will not give it back either because the company said they have correct information. The bad part about this is I don't even drink wine! I don't recommend this company!

Pretty much as it says in the title. Requested cancellation 4/28. Received a "confirmation" of cancellation via email on 4/30. Still charged on 5/5, and a double order at that. Called and spoke to "Patience" who said she would process the cancellation and refund. We'll see how well that goes, but I'm unsurprisingly skeptical.
