on 7/2/15Canceling in simple. Amazon even offers the steps to do so (see below) GO TO -- https://payments.amazon.com/help/81247
I don't know why you want to cancel Amazon but I am not going to question your reasons. HERE'S WHAT I PAINT-COPIED FROM THE LINK I JUST LISTED. When an Amazon Payments account has been closed, it cannot be reopened. There is no cost for keeping an Amazon Payments account open; you can leave your account dormant as long as you want without incurring any fees.
If you do decide to close your account, do the following steps:
1. Withdraw any remaining account balance in your account by purchasing an Amazon.com Gift Certificate or by initiating a withdrawal to your bank account. (For detailed instructions for withdrawing funds from your account, see Withdrawing Funds.)
2. Delete any active payment methods from your account. (For detailed instructions for deleting payment methods, see Deleting Payment Methods.)
3. Contact Customer Service to request a full account closure.
If you decide you want to open a new account after closing your old account, you can do that at any time by visiting the Amazon Payments website. However, please note that the new account must use a different email address, because when an email address has been used for an Amazon Payments account, it cannot be used again, even if the old Amazon Payments account is closed.
I had done all suggestions, call, e mail, get angry etc.
Since I still have the same e mail address I had opened the account, I never able to get rid off them. Even my wife has a different e mail address, whenever she logs into their website even with a new laptop, it shows that I am logged in, maybe due the same address. I gave up and just changed my credit cards.
Rather than attempting to email Amazon, you've got two choices here afore mentioned. Yes, you can ignore them. But a personal phone call to the Customer Service Department, will get their attention. In order to get the best number with the shortest wait can always be found on the GetHuman.com website. I've used it for many situations, and not necessarily just for online issues. When you're speaking with an actual person, you feel far more confident about your concerns. To further assist you against SPAM, DO NOT return to website, EVER! Otherwise, your cookies will be traced, whether you've got turned on or not. This is for all browsers. Since you've seemed to have some reasonable disfavor for them, it's time to take action now. It shouldn't be all that difficult to make your decision right away, and Customer Service is there for you. Be courteous but firm. Come on angry will only place whomever a bit cautious and hesitant. Best of luck.

I didn't see anything about a kindle in the question! Just go to Amazon.com & look for help or customer service links. Or, if you don't want to give them another email address, look for phone # in the "Contact Us" link.
Hello ~ Unless you have Amazon Prime, or an existing recurring order, I do not think it is necessary to cancel your account with Amazon. I believe you just need to stop ordering from them. I know you can unsubscribe from their emails, if they bother you, but stop ordering from them, and there should be no need to cancel your account. If you have concerns, I would agree with the other answerers... Contact Customer Service thru phone or email. Hope this has been helpful :)
Go to www.Amazon.com and click on " contact us"... Go from there as per the prompt...
