Here’s what consumers have asked with answers from Ancestry staff and previous consumers.
Why would you want to? Obviously they are thieves i. E. taking people's money and not giving anything in return, as they did with me. Should anyone from Ancestry be reading this, thinking of a libel action, truth is an absolute defense, and I will continue posting my experience ad infinitum until this company ceases with their fraudulent endeavors, and gives me what I paid for.
I agree... so many current complaints yet they seem to be more concerned with signing up new, younger members who are more deeply engaged in technology. It is business to these folks and they have to get younger people joining to make more money long term. Baby boomers though are their natural market and as more boomers retire and have more time and discretionary income they will be the ones who will be likely to join over the next few years.
Go to the right side of the page up at top where you sign in, and in the pull down menu there will be a place to go back to the old, classic ancestry, you know however, soon they are pulling the plug
I believe you can remove your account number (Visa or MC) from your profile and advise your bank to not process this subscription renewal as you have attempted to cancel to no avail. Hope it works as I will be doing it soon as well.
It's really a shame that people who don't know how to do things are so quick to reply to others. To stop updates each person who RECEIVES the updates needs to click on the down arrow next to their name in the upper right hand corner, which will give a drop-down menu. From there go to My Alerts, and then change delivery options. You know, even if you don't know how to do it, it only takes a second to google the question and find the correct answer.
Sarah, I am sorry that you are having such a difficult time with Ancestry.com. If you are serious about your family tree the best place to go is Wikitree.com They require that you cite your sources. When you start entering your family, you have to enter where you got the information. Birth certificate, death certificate, census records, etc. It is a great way to find your family tree. It is free. Other members help you with your search. You do have to be serious about your search otherwise you won't get very far. Go to Wikitree.com and look into it first Explore the website and see if it is for you. The best part is that other people who have experience with geneaology research are willing to help. And that it is free is just a nice perk considering that Ancestry and the My Heritage charge astronomical prices. Good luck Sarah.
