From my experience, they appear to be nothing but a shady scam bank.

They are a bunch of scammers and money grabbers who will do anything to turn a profit at the expense of the consumer.

We have had an online banking account with them for over a decade with little issues until recently. They randomly locked our funds and required my husband (who is only a secondary account holder) to physically DRIVE to a branch 40 minutes away. Given I was the one who opened the account and handled everything and am his POA, this was beyond frustrating. I do believe they do this to scam customer's out of their funds -- random barriers & hoops to jump through. It was an AWFUL experience, time consuming!

It's legit but the software company they bought is not legit

There a scam capital one pulls in with a nice story of high limits its more of a nightmare low limits and bad memories in the checkout stands cards with low limits you can't make large purchases
