Yes. I bought a shirt for my daughter oct 29 and am still waiting for it. Seller keeps telling me her grandmother is near dying and cant get it out to me and it was scheduled to be shipped out 2 days ago and now she is telling me to wait some more.

I agree with Steve J on this one. A lot of sellers on Etsy work from home in the evenings for extra money. Most of them are not big businesses with massive inventories so I would give them the benefit of the doubt. Give them a little more time and if they dont send it out then file a case with etsy

Real life events do happen, this wasn't that long ago TBH and it probably wasn't a ready made item. redstarsupplies.etsy.com

I would wait a bit longer. The 29th wasn't that long ago. I bought a tee shirt the other day and noticed that it said it could be a month wait on shipping.

If you really want the item let the seller know that you'll wait a given amount of time, say a couple more days. If she can't send it out by then ask for a refund and cancel your order.

People do fall behind, so you might wait a bit more before worrying about it. If it still hasn't shipped after a week, you can open an item not received case through etsy.

If you want to wait go ahead but you need to know that etsys policies state that there is a time limit on filing a complaint and after that time period of you have not received your item or requested assistance from headquarters, you are out of luck and your money.

Most sellers on Etsy are good people and sometimes there are things that happen beyond their control. If you are worried about the shirt and would like to order it elsewhere than ask for a refund and cancellation on the order.

Etsy is a small band of folks selling small items from many artists. The small band does not seem to have an understanding of basic business principles and the artists vary like snowflakes, some have business sense, some do not. I like to compare Etsy to Amazon without the accountability, ethics or common business sense. The quality of what you buy and the service that is offered to you is dependent upon the individual artist with whom you deal. The small band will offer you no help. In this case, I would not say that the person is lying about a dying grandparent. The artist may have good intentions but since he/she is not business-aware and when she/he thought about selling things on Etsy, he/she saw a lifeline for her/his art and not the work it would take to maintain a business, they are clueless. Everyone who shops on Etsy should know this. What you get depends entirely on luck. And, as with any type of gambling, the odds heavily favor the house. As I see it, you have two options: 1) If you really want the item and it is practical to do so, wait and see if it arrives as ordered and 2) Cancel your order and demand repayment. I do not know that you will get the refund, but it is worth a shot.

Don't buy a seller's story (tall tales). File a case with Etsy for the Item Never Received. You'll get your money back, and this will be a good lesson for the seller to be more responsible.
