on 11/14/15I agree with Steve J on this one. A lot of sellers on Etsy work from home in the evenings for extra money. Most of them are not big businesses with massive inventories so I would give them the benefit of the doubt. Give them a little more time and if they dont send it out then file a case with etsy
Real life events do happen, this wasn't that long ago TBH and it probably wasn't a ready made item. redstarsupplies.etsy.com
Etsy is a small band of folks selling small items from many artists. The small band does not seem to have an understanding of basic business principles and the artists vary like snowflakes, some have business sense, some do not. I like to compare Etsy to Amazon without the accountability, ethics or common business sense. The quality of what you buy and the service that is offered to you is dependent upon the individual artist with whom you deal. The small band will offer you no help. In this case, I would not say that the person is lying about a dying grandparent. The artist may have good intentions but since he/she is not business-aware and when she/he thought about selling things on Etsy, he/she saw a lifeline for her/his art and not the work it would take to maintain a business, they are clueless. Everyone who shops on Etsy should know this. What you get depends entirely on luck. And, as with any type of gambling, the odds heavily favor the house. As I see it, you have two options: 1) If you really want the item and it is practical to do so, wait and see if it arrives as ordered and 2) Cancel your order and demand repayment. I do not know that you will get the refund, but it is worth a shot.
