on 7/27/17Instacart does not give you the sale prices from the store. So if the peanut butter is 3.50 on sale. Instacart will charge you 4.80 regular price. Their prices are all over the board but on average you are paying 20% more.
They left receipt in my order from Costco - 30-% more thanhad I shopped myself And that was just ok the items not including service feees, tips, etc. no more!
It says prices are higher but I didn't realize how much. Ice cream on Instacart was 4.49, same item in store and online was on sale 2 for 5.00, regular 3.50. I canceled order and canceled free trial.
They cant tell you. They use this as an excuse. Dont trust them. Find another service OR go directly thru the store
For a $5 container of Mizithra cheese from old spaghetti factory my wifes Visa was charged $25! First and only order from this scam outfit.
I was upcharged 35%. Thanks for the receipt guy (which he wasn't supposed to give me... I wonder why). No longer using service. Bye instacart
When you place the order on the app or website, it tells you the price you will pay. What is the problem there. There is a reason the shoppers aren't supposed to give you the receipt. The app says at the top that prices will be higher through instacart than in the store. No surprises.
It is different in every market, and for every store. Actually, a number of stores do NOT upcharge. In my market, Instacart customers pay the same as in-store customers and even receive most of the sale prices too. However, this could also be why our shoppers are among the lowest paid in the country and rely heavily on tips.
They left my receipt in one of my bags. I know they charge more because it's as clear as day on their website. So I expect it and I know how much. If you use their app it's great. So the difference was less than $4.00. I can live with that.
