How is it legal or ethical to offer customers money/free store credits as compensation for reviews? How is this even allowed on this platform?

A: Thank you for reaching out with your concern.

Incentivizing customers to leave a review—whether positive or negative—is a common and legally permissible practice, as long as businesses do not require a specific sentiment in exchange for the incentive. In this case, offering a $10 store gift card simply serves as a token of appreciation for the customer's time in sharing their experience.

Sitejabber's guidelines allow businesses to request reviews with their sitejabber link with incentive or non incentive as a thank you for their time. Since there is no requirement for the review to be positive, and customers are free to express their genuine opinions, this does not violate ethical or legal standards.
