on 6/13/17Since 1997 our platform has sold to millions of customers. The majority of all those transactions have been positive with no problems. But like Trevor S. Said each seller on our platform is independent and responsible for the how the transaction goes. It is best to look at each sellers feedback ratings and stats to see how they have performed with other buyers and that will give a good indication of how they will perform with you. Thankfully most all sellers on our platform are great sellers who will bend over backwards to make sure you are happy. And in the few rare instance where that doesn't happen you can always file for a dispute with PayPal to get your money back.
MS like any other site is seller driven; if you buy from sellers on the site with poor feedback and fill rates, you can expect poor quality items, and items listed as not available. The same can be said with Discogs, as I find there that 1/3 items I buy as NM are typically VG+ or less. It's NOT the site, it's the sellers themselves. Keep in mind the same sellers are typically on Ebay, Discogs AND Musicstack. Easy to source out the problems by reading through customer issues they have in the past, and how (if) they were rectified. Everyone makes mistakes in this business, but you should have learned from said mistake :)
