speed dial doesn't work. suggestions?

There are several ways to troubleshoot this,
First the obvious, is Speed Dial enabled (this may sound stupid but it happens that this functions disables itself due to an update yet it's very rare but possible)

Hardware Acceleration issue:
>>Go to "Edit" -> "Preferences" -> "Browser".
>>Scroll down to "Advanced settings" and check "Show advanced settings".
>>A "System" section will show up. Uncheck "Use hardware acceleration when available".
>>Restart Opera
Malwarebytes user?
Try disabling Anti-Exploit protection for Opera and restart browser
Backup your bookmarks, passwords, extensions (in case you don't use Opera account to sync your settings) and Uninstall and Reinstall.
