Is StartEngine a legit business to invest in?

Yes, StartEngine is absolutely a legitimate business to invest in. Most recently they've hired Kevin O'Leary from the investment TV show "Shark Tank" as their new spokesman. They are currently the 10 fastest growing private company in CA.

From my side, it is yes else why do companies come for funding twice and thrice like Flower Turbine, and on top of that Mr. Wonderful is an ambassador. I watched him in Shark Tank for many years and I can confidently say if he is in the company is more legitimate.

There are many big brands that showcased on Shark Tank are part of StartEngine.

Startengine is very real and I would not be surprised if it went IPO one day.
They are now at the top of the industry for Regulation CF and Regulation A+ investing.
And they will be launching a secondary platform in 10/2020 where you CAN actually trade Reg CF and Reg A+ shares. NO OTHER platform does this, Startengine is the first!
