“Scam”

I found charges to my card that I did not authorize from Adapted Mind- twice in one month. I did not sign up for membership, yet this site took $79.90 in total- in one month. I am not the only one complaining of this also. This is on some level a scam; as these charges are fraudulent. It's disgusting!

My kids love adapted mind and it's an awesome learning website if this was just based on that i would give 5 stars but it's not.
My problem is I had to transfer money to make a payment when the card declined but it wasn't updating so I called customer service and customer service said they can't use the same card more than once and i have to put a new card on the account.
The customer service rep said they can't recharge the account with the same card which makes no sense to me, if i had to use a different card everytime i had to pay wouldn't they not be able to have the card saved to the account.
Adapted mind needs new customer service employees or find out why they sound like they don't want to be there because they aren't giving good customer service.

We've just signed up for a free trial and my boys are really enjoying it. My older son got up early today to do his next level that was unlocked. He keeps telling me all the new things he learned in social studies and science. He said that the math subject is challenging enough to keep him interested. I'm heavily pregnant and lack of energy at the moment. So this type of activity is great for me too because kids keep themselves busy and I have no guilt of them spending time in front of a screen. I've also did a bit of research today because I'm considering to commit to 3-4 classes for my kids and saw some negative review about the company. Knowing that reviews can be unfair sometimes I contacted their customer service to address my concern. The customer service responded pretty much straight away with a very professional email.

My grade 3 boy has really low confidence but after only about a week of Adapted Mind he's worked through so much and will finish an "episode" a night in either science, math or social studies. The only thing I would change - having to watch the episode entirely to redo a quiz is a bit of a pain and deters him from trying again but other that that it is extremely entertaining and engaging. Plus it encourages positive self talk and growth. I just love it.

Both my kids 4 and 7 are using ADAPTED MINDS. Both of them enjoy it. We're focusing on maths and super skills at the moment, loved the mental health aspect of it especially. Teaching my child to have a growth mindset. Even though they can't do it now, they know they can work their way up to it if they persevere. The website is very engaging for the kids. They love watching the videos, the customisation of their avatar and pets, the store. Can't rate this highly enough. It's made helping my kids with their maths so much more enjoyable compared to DREAD which is what it used to be. THANK YOU for developing the website. I love it and would recommend it to all parents!

Both my children (5 and 9 years old) wake up in the morning wanting to work on math. My daughter never liked math in school, but she's loved it since we started the free trial. They also like the science and reading section. We are still in the free trial period and I hope that their interest will be the same after this.

I never signed up for this. I've never even heard of it. I don't know how they got my card info. I reported it as fraud to my bank. Thankfully, I should receive a refund from my bank within 60 days. I don't even want to deal with talking to them. From the other reviews, it sounds like they give you the runaround just to keep charging your account after you've canceled anyway.

We signed up this morning for this & I have been playing with both my kids. Some of the questions do not make much sense. The reading I thought would have the option to click the word if you didn't know it like other apps we use & pay for, but this does not. It does not read to you either. My children playing this are in Kindergarten & 1st grade. After reading these other reviews I will be cancelling today.

Pretty rough interface (click boxes are often missing or poorly aligned), questions are not age appropriate, very repetitive and not very engaging for kids. Gamifying learning is a great idea but you should test your product before trying to charge for it.

You call yourself a learning website? If you type in 7.5 sometimes it says the answer is 7 1/2, which is EXACTLY the same thing. Also, you're deducting a lot of money from people. The last thing people want during this outbreak is to lose money. Also, your apostrophes (') are printed as â. As shown on the photo.

Tip for consumers:
Tip: If you are going to use your money on this, don't buy all the expansions because if you do you end up paying about like 50$ per month or something.

My child tried this in summer 2020 and we did the 30 day trial of which we tried and thought it was pretty awful this was in lockdown, being a single mum of twin boys I forgot all about the trial as I was home schooling and working from home every night to try and keep my recruitment business going. I found out in November 2021 they have stolen around 200.00 from my bank account without letting me know, I have asked for a refund and they have offered 19.00 from a lady called May, do not use this company as they took my money with no authority and the learning was awful.

Tip for consumers:
Do not sign up for Adapted Mind unless you will use it as they just keep taking money from your account monthly until caught

So, I still have no idea how I was subscribed BUT after emailing them to complain they returned my money for 5 months and confirmed the closure of account, all within 24 hours. I'm not sure how to interpret that, but I'm just pleased that they responded and I am not out of pocket. :)

I've no idea how I was subscribed to this website, but they took payments from my account for 5 months until I noticed on this month's statement. I have never seen the website before in my life so I am mythed! Based on what others have said I'm pretty worried that they'll continue to take payments even though I've cancelled now. Grrrr...

We have had the Adaptive Mind account for a few days, and I love how it lets me know what my kiddo has worked on and she is entertained and learning tons of things. We are currently subscribed for the Math, Reading, Social Studies and Science accounts. She took a pretext for it to determine where she needed to start and is challenging her from as well as explaining when she does get an answer wrong. We couldn't be happier!

I have subscribed for the free trial, my first and third graders love it and have been doing math, reading science everyday. For the math specifically after each level you cannot continue until the day after which makes them upset but at the same time were able to go and work on the other subjects. From the science they have been telling me so many things they have learned which is amazing and they cannot stop talking about it. I just called them today as my trial will be over in few days and find out that the math by itself is $9.95 and Reading & Science are $10 each which brings it to $29.95 a month if you choose it all, plus they give the social study free since they are still working on it. I also asked for a discount, they told me they have a promotion and they gave all to me for $20 a month. Hoping I get charged the right amount as I see people complaining. But so far I am very pleased with it. If anything goes wrong I am sure to comeback and talk about it.

I love adapted mind because it helps you learn a lot and it feels like you are talking to them! Also, it has different subjects, like regular school. You also can get new clothes for your monster! Finally, you get pets, I already have 12! It is only $10 a month! Go sign up now and maybe, just maybe you can get a free trial! Have a great day and keep learning!

Tip for consumers:
I think it would be helpful to know that this is a perfectly safe app because trust me, I have tried this app. If you need any more help just call them, I do not know their number so, just search it up.

My son and I would still be using them, but he decided he would like to try public school this year instead of home school. And with the other after school activities, there's really not the time for it. But if he needs any extra tutoring in the future this will be the 1st place we go! My son loved it!

I set my daughter up with a trial of this because she saw it on YouTube. I went to cancel it and it's said I didn't have an account. I was just charged $40 and there's no way to login and cancel. This company should be sued.

This company have taken out 2 Switch payments from my bank account and I have never signed up for any of their courses. I don't know how they got my card details but they have set up a recurring payment. I have been forced to report the fraud to my bank. Beware this is a scam!

Tip for consumers:
My advice is don’t go near them. They are fraudsters.

The limitation on how much time a child can engage is a huge downfall. Everyone has different learning styles and many children need to immerse themselves in their interests in order to learn most effectively. Limiting this is limiting learning and self direction. That is the biggest down side. The confusing processes logging in and starting sessions, the loading time is ridiculous between every screen, use of 'grade level' to start is irrelevant for some. Would be better to start by ascertaining where a child is needing/wanting to start. Using generalisations about screen time needing to be limited etc is harmful in so many ways; many need screens to communicate, read, engage meaningfully and can be the most effective relevant way to learn etc. Promoting reduction of or judging screen time is ableist.

I absolutely LOVE science and history. ALL my kids like watching them, from my 2 year old to my 14 year old. (They often pause and grab their siblings, dad, or I to watch some AMAZING fact. (I enjoy it, too. Its exactly what I am looking for). I also like that you can't repeat the exact same lesson OVER and OVER. It keeps up with what you have and haven't watched.

Math. I really loved the math in the beginning as it assigned a lesson and they worked until they finished it. Now, it seems, there is no- "YOUR DONE for the DAY!" which may be a setting I need to fix. They set timers for math and I don't care for keeping up with timers. I love that I'm emailed exactly what they accomplished for the day and what they missed and need to work on. I discovered my 6 year old has already started her next grade while my sons are on grade level. I like that it adjusts to my child so it doesn't go too fast and not too slow.

I was surprised by the quick support I received from AdaptedMind. They were readily available to resolve the issue. The content of the website is very good. It's a shame that the currency of my country is so devalued, getting very expensive for me to maintain the subscription.

Absolutely recommend this app. The app is engaging, self paced, entertaining and educational.

My daughter's account has been cancelled for almost two years. I checked my credit card statement and see they have been charging me since then. I called to rectify this four weeks ago, They COULDN'T EVEN FIND THE ACCOUNT and had no idea what was billing me. I was supposed to receive a callback within the "next 48 hours." No call. The charges are still there. This company is a scam. This company does not have good business practices. Their products didn't even work for the short amount of time we had them. Please, please save yourself the trouble.

Tip for consumers:
Don't use this product. When you cancel, they will continue to charge you and it is impossible to get them to stop.

Anytime my child clicks on the math tab a pop-up for a video is the only option to click on. A lengthy "Super Skills" video is mandatory to watch in order to proceed to the math lesson. To top it off, it appears to be the same video. Nothing about different skills. This is pointless and very annoying. It only causes children to lose interest and wastes time. If you only have 15-20 minutes at that time, you've wasted most of it on the video. Waste of money!

Tip for consumers:
Waste of time and money!!

This company has been making an auto-withdrawals from my account without my consent from my since
March 2020-Aug 2020 for $9.95. I have been trying to resolve this for a matter of time and can not get a hold of a representative to resolve this issue and have had not been able to get a hold of a live person. Be aware, there are pop-ups from Adapted Mind that can catch you up in this same loop. Very disappointed in this app. Do not purchase. There is a monthly fee involved!
