Leonid Afremov

I thank the studio of Leonid Afremov for making the artist's fans happy. We can touch creativity and buy beauty for ourselves, and at a low price.

I ordered two giclees: one for the office, the other for home. Everything was delivered quickly and in good condition, securely packed. I'm happy.

Last month I purchased a total of 7 stretched paintings and, since I have now received 6 of them, I feel that I can post a review. I'm one of the people who one day recently just happened to come across the Leonid Afremov website, immediately fell in love with all of his paintings, and made impulse buys before doing due diligence of reading reviews first. So, when I then started reading reviews and saw some alarming ones, I was extremely worried. Plus, although I understood that I was buying recreation paintings, I had believed that the photo on the website was a photo of the recreated painting that I was buying. I learnt that, in fact, the photos on the website are of the actual original painting and not of the painting that I'd bought. So I got in contact with the Studio and they promised to send me a photo of each painting before they shipped them to me. That felt reassuring to me and sure enough, they did send me a photo of each painting to approve before they shipped it. For three of the paintings, I approved the first photos they sent me. So they were then shipped to me. However I was not fully satisfied with the paintings in the other three photos that they sent me and therefore did not approve them. So the Studio then sent photos of other recreations of those paintings for me to look at and choose from. I was then able to find ones that I approved of and they were then shipped to me. From the beginning, the communication by the Studio with me has always been brilliant and extremely prompt. Both shipments arrived to me here in New Zealand in just one week from Mexico and I could track them all the way which was fantastic. The paintings were packaged up really well and arrived in perfect condition. Of the six paintings that I have received, one is a Limited Edition Original, four are Recreations started by Studio artists and finished by Leonid and one is a full Studio recreation. I honestly love them all! Most of them are paintings of places that we have traveled to (due to Covid, we really miss travelling overseas) and the paintings provide me with bright & happy memories of our times there. I really want to buy more but we have probably run out of wall space now!

I can´t believe my eyes how many people here consider these reproductions to be beautiful. Here are pictures to compare - the first one they have on their website and the others which they sent us. I thought everyone could see the difference.

From our mail to Mr. Afremov:,, The overall level of detail is just so basic! Less colors (mostly yellow), such big strokes of brush, even the number of street lamps is wrong... Branches of trees don´t "embrace" the pavement. And why is the reflection of the nearest lamp smallest? I can´t shake the feeling, that this painting is a work of an apprentice or someone who doesn´t care about the quality of his work. We like the painting you offer on the website even more than the original. If it would be possible to exchange the one you sent us for one which would look like the one on your website, we would be glad. In this case, we would appreciate sending a photo of the painting before sending the painting itself. If it wouldn´t be possible, I ask for a refund and will send the amateur version back. It isn´t ugly on the whole, but it is neither what we paid for in the first place. Another "bonus" on the painting is the staple sticked in the middle of the picture (photo also enclosed). We wouldn´t mind that, if the picture looked like it should."

Only one thing I can appreciate - fast communication and delivery. But their reaction to our reproaches was none. You can see photos of pictures they sent us: the same $#*!ty thing.
We asked for a refund and we got it quickly (without shipping ofc). Then we ordered a printed version of another Afremov´s painting from Amazon and it´s way cheaper and beautiful!;)

I am sorry for Leonid Afremov to have sons that desecrate his art this way.

For years I admired Leonid Afremovs paintings. Now I got the chance to buy a beautiful painting of the Tour Eiffel, our favorit builing in our beloved Paris, for a very friendly price. We ordered the 11th and today, the 14th, it already arrived. Only three days! In real it's even more beautiful and sparkling and much bigger than I expected. The packaging was very well, hard pvc roll to protect the painting from any bumpings, scratchings, damaging circumstances. Just keep in mind that you have to pay import taxes and duties when you're buying in Europe. But it's still worth it. Maybe next time I would order the canvas streched on wood, because now I still have to find a company who can do that in a neat way but I'll manage to get that done. I realise it's not a one-only painting, there is at least one more of this painting (the 'original' one from which this recreation is made) and maybe more but it's a real oilpainting, signed and with a certificate. So yes, I recommend these paintings!
