I use asurion through AT&t it really does come in handy when you need it. I appreciate that you can get the issue corrected and then the payment is put on to your bill rather than paying up front. I'm insured on all my electronics with asurion!

Anyone that has Asurion cancel it! If it's offered for your cell phone plan say HELL NO! It is the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I have been dealing with getting my phone screen repaired since WEDNESDAY. Day one I went to a uBreakiFix store and it wasn't able to be repaired because their part was defective. I was advised to call Asurion and request for a Advanced Exchange. Didn't know at the time, but that was requesting for a replacement phone and it would be sent at $29(the deductible price). After being on the phone for 2 hours with Asurion and then being told I was denied of the advanced exchange, thinking that was the next step. Multiple associates couldn't explain why I was being denied. I finally got to a supervisor and she said it was because "I haven't been billed enough air time". I said "huh?". She said that I hadnt used my phone since I purchased my insurance. I told her I am on my phone right now! I explained that my phone is fine and I don't need a replacement I just want my screen repaired. I set up an appointment on Sunday morning. The tech texted me that morning saying that he did not have the part and that I needed to reschedule. So I went ahead and rescheduled on my day off today to have someone come to my house. I received an email at 6 AM this morning that I needed to call regarding action on my claim. When I called this morning they told me that my claim was voided. Each day there is a new excuse why a tech can't come out to my house. I've constantly got the run around and with no resolution. The only way that this was resolved was to pay the $199 for a replacement phone. Instantly approved. They make people go in circles until they can't take it anymore.

These people are the most incompetent people I have ever dealt with. My wife filed a claim for my phone online as I'm busy so much during the day. When she filed the claim she listed the phone as a Samsung Galaxy S20... when I actually owned a S20 ultra 5G. So needless to say they sent me the wrong phone. Not their fault... we put down the wrong phone, but I guess they don't check and insure that the phone is right on their end either. Either way all I wanted to do was get the new phone shipped out so I could send back the damaged one. After spending numerous 1/2 hour long wait times waiting to speak to someone, they assured me that it would be resolved. Both times I spoke with them, they assured me that it would be resolved and that I should hold on to the wrong replacement phone and send it back with the damaged phone when the new one was sent. They said that the new phone couldn't be sent out until a supervisor did a review of the case and as soon as it was approved they would send the new one out. They told me twice that the new phone could not be sent out until this was done and that I had to wait. In the mean time, I was being sent emails saying that if I did not return the phone, I would be charged a fee. I called back again and they assured me that I would not be charged and even if I was, they would refund me the amount. Well, I called them again today because I was charged the 300+ dollar fee and I wanted a refund. Now they are telling me that the claim was canceled and that they cannot refund me the money or my deductible because the time limit on the claim has expired. Needless to say I ended the conversation and told them I would be dealing with my provider to get this resolved. This company is beyond incompetent. I'm out close to 600 dollars and my phone is still screwed up. What do I pay insurance for. Apparently nothing...
I was initially very pleased with our Asurion Home Plus plan. My wife's Alienware computer died and we took it to the store to get it evaluated. It was deemed unfixable and we got a check for its depreciated value. Quick, easy and satisfying experience.
However, when my Alienware developed a problem, it was a very different experience. The store declared it unfixable, so I shipped it to the "service center" where they attempted to fix it. They shipped it back after declaring it "fixed...It was not. The same issue was still there. I called "customer service " they said it's fixed, I disagreed Since It Didn't Function! After being forced to open another claim and lots of red tape and phone calls, I shipped it again to the "service center " More work was done, it was declared fixed, sent back to me and...you guessed it SAME PROBLEM. After more phone calls, where I had to go to a supervisor, more paperwork, constantly repeating the same story over and over to different people, I argued with them that the computer still doesn't function despite supposedly passing all"function tests". I finally got a sympathetic ear, after writing a scathing review. Amanda assured me she would handle my claim " until it is fixed to my satisfaction ". It was sent to the service center for #3. I never heard from Amanda again. More work and parts were put into my computer, again it was declared fixed and shipped back. This time it actually functioned! However, when I was setting it back up, I noticed that instead of having dual hard drives( 1tb and 256gb) only the 256gb drive was there. I hooked it to the store, hoping it just wasnt recognizing the other drive.Nope, the other drive was gone. 6 months have gone by since this process started. I called Asurion "customer service " and was told both that it never had 2 hard drives and that the 1tb drive was indeed in the computer. I (and their own store) disagree. I asked for a supervisor, was sent to the wrong department and hung up on twice after being on the phone for over an hour. 6months after the beginning, my computer Is still not what it should be. Unf###ing believable.

As there is not a 0 rating, 1 will need to suffice. After working with Sumsung technical service in an attempt to diagnose/remedy a problem with my washing machine, the service rep provided UbreakIFix (Asurion) as an authorized repair provider for Samsung washing machines. Samsung contacted their local provider at which time an appointment was set for technician to perform diagnostic testing on May 2,2022.
*The technician diagnosed the issue as either a defective door switch or a defective main control board (possibly both). The technician ordered both parts.
An appointment for repair was scheduled for May 5,2022.
* A different technician arrived on the scheduled date with both parts. The technician initially installed the new door switch which did not solve the issue. The control board was the installed which also did not resolve the issue. After speaking with the "shop" it was determined by the technician, that a second (different type switch) was also needed. This switch is located within the door itself and required a complete new door. While this switch is located within the door and is accessible by removing about 8 screws on the rear of the door, I was told the are not authorized to remove the back to replace the switch. The door was ordered on May 5,2002 and an appointment was scheduled to replace the door on May 10,2022 between 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Today (May 10,2022) at 8:45 a.m. I received a call from the Samsung authorized repair service stating the appointment was cancelled as they "just received notification from the shipping company that the part would not arrive until May 17,2022". I strongly requested to speak with a manager concerning this debacle as they had a shipping date when the appointment was scheduled. I was told by the Asurion representative that the manager was "in a meeting" and couldn't take my call and no offer to return my call was given. At which time a demanded a return call when manager was out of the "meeting." The representative the call was escalated though their channels. She recommended I call Samsung to try to escalate the issue myself.
The issue is horrendous service on the part of Asurion! I will definitely avoid Asurion in the future and hope others do also!

I got a phone with Telus and opted for the extended care package. I got a simple crack in my screen and called to start a claim to replace the screen for $49.00. Asurion said I could not repair the phone because there were no stores near me and that the only option I had was to pay $400 to replace the phone entirely. I live in Ottawa, and there are LOTS of phone repair shops near me. So I contacted Telus, and they said they work extensively with a repair company called Mobile Klinic at the Bayshore Shopping Centre. So I contacted Mobile Klinic and they told me that they had the parts to make the repair and they also work with repair jobs covered under Asurion. So I call Asurion back and explained this all to them. All I got from them was practiced lines and excuses. Funny thing is, when you go to their website (https://deviceprotection.phoneclaim.com/telus/en-ca/workflow/start#!), they ask for your postal code to see if you are eligible to file a repair claim, my postal code was not eligible. The funny thing is, while on hold, I tried dozens of postal codes and NONE of them were eligible. So Asurion won't fix your phone if you are in downtown, Ottawa, Halifax, Toronto, Vancouver or Calgary. After hours of frustration, I called back Telus, who were extremely helpful and they tried talking to Asurion on my behalf. Which didn't work either. So, in the end, Telus gave me a credit to pay for 90% of the cost of the repair job (which was what Asurion's plan SHOULD have done in the first place( and I cancelled my policy with Asurion. After reading several reviews, it is clear to me that Asurion is running a scam where they force their customers to replace rather than repair, so they can pocket higher fees. Avoid this company's scam at all costs. Hopefully Telus will drop these crooks and go with a more reliable insurance company.
