This company used to be good, but now I have to spend 15 minutes running all the scans and file deletions. Used to be automatic. Now, after upgrading my Mac to Ventura 13.3, AntiTrack slows computer to a standstill, nor can it be deleted. Tech support is clueless. They never call back as promised. I had to uninstall and reinstall to get the basic program to work.
I now have 3 buttons floating around my android screens and I cannot get rid of them and one button does absolutely nothing.
AVG has the worst customer service and complaints department on any antivirus they do a rolling billing system which you have no choice about until it's too late they only offer a refund if you stop it after 30 days
AVG customer support have no sympathy for elderly people who have not realised they've signed up to this scheme and often I've paid extortionate amounts for many years without using the product AVG will not give any refund unless you have made a complaint or applied for a refund 30 days after they've taken the money I have no morals or understanding about ageing population more over charges of nearly £80 a year for something you have not used in these times it's very expensive on pensioners so please be aware of the policy before signing up.
This so called business has absolutely no morals when it comes to obtaining your money. For 4 years they took money from my account without my consent & without me activating any of their software, but still they continued to take money!
I have been in touch with them explaining my situation, but they have been unsympathetic when explaining the fact that I have never used the product.
More fool me for not noticing the money coming out on an annual basis, but they have yet to show me any details of me placing or giving my approval for any products…how did they get my details?
Funny enough on searching the internet I can see a pattern emerging for AVG on the way they obtain their money…how can they get away with it?
I'm now taking legal advice on how to get my money returned.
I purchased this product as a free download and contunially got bombarded with messages stating i need to upgrade so i did since then they take money out for products i did not authorize just help themselves to my pay pal account and charge my for products i don't want then getting someone to fix problems is a joke so they give me some crap about 30 refunds and will not refund even though they can see in my account it has never been used and will not say anything about previous call and messages same complaint i just hung up phone from them and the woman literally said yes they are gonna rip me of for a lousy $50 there product is crap and caused all sorts of problems on my pc never again will i use any of their products
This company is taking peoples money and not giving the refund! When you call into report that you did not order with them, they give you a refund number and say 5-7 days. Then when you call back in they say they had a error in their system, then they do another refund number say 5-7 days until refund again! And again! And again!
I was mistaken before. AVG Technologies does have free Anti-Virus, which scans for brower threats, viruses and malware. However, when it finds "advanced issues," that's when they want you to purchase their premium package which will resolve the "advanced issues."
AVG Technologies hooked me by saying their products were free. But then when I started the download they said I had a "free 30-day trial." I figured, what the heck, let's try them out and see if they are worth the price. At first I was very impressed with AVG Technologies, it had a great product (similar to McAfee) for less money, but then it started acting up and I got a lot of nuisance pop-ups which got on my nerves. One reason I used their 30-day trials was because they promised to notify me by email 7 days before the trial period ended. I tried three products and kept one (which I later canceled for reasons mentioned above), canceled the second and the third (VPN) I planned on canceling because my email service started providing it for free. However, I never received the 7-day notice and they charged me $59.99 without warning. When I complained they said it would take 7 to 10 business days to refund my money (when other organizations provide refunds sometimes within 2 days).
There were some technical difficulties with AVG, e.g., blocking know providers, e.g., Vodafone.
Most disappointing was their extremely poor record keeping. My initial introduction was from a third party supplier. I subsequently chose to leave that supplier and be charged directly. I was automatically charged twive for the same product. When asked they could not find a trace of payments, even though I provided records. I woud not trust them further than I could throw them.
I received a notice from Paypal that my subscription to AVG was being automatically renewed and a charge placed to my account two weeks prior to expiration date I tried unsuccessfully for two hours to cancel my renewal via AVG. I received no prior notice of renewal prior to my Paypal account being charged. At that point, hwenever, I tried to cancel online with AVG, I was instructed to have a live "chat". I even tried to find unsuccessfully any phone numbers to call. I even sent a message to another website of AVG to try to cancel but got no response. Finally, after two hours of trying cancel my renewal and obtain a refund, I was forced to "chat." By this time my patience had been exhausted and I made if very clear to Rachele Ann that I did not want to chat but wanted to cancel my subscription. I was frankly very clear that I did not want to tell her why I wanted to cancel but she just would not listen. I used no foul language. She finally just hung up without responding to my request to cancel my renewal. I had not other alternative but to complain to Paypal about the treatment I received and how it is impossible to cancel a renewal online. Paypal did notify me later that evening I was getting a refund. This is yet another example of a company forcing you to sign up for automatic renewal and then making it almost impossible to cancel the renewal. There are no phone numbers to call and emails that I got were that to which you cannot reply. I will never use AVG again. Buyers beware!
They took money out of my account without my authorizing it, and what a surprise it was double the amount I paid the year before when I actually signed up for the service. Despite me canceling, they charged my card again anyway, and tried to charge me a THIRD TIME but notified me, and they refused to give my money back that they stole. Do not EVER do business with AVG technologies they are an India based scam center now.
Had a free trial and advised £29 after first year. First year came and went and £74.99 taken from my bank. Thats over 100% increase. I am still showing as on a free trial and the suggested upgrade to internet protection is £1.99 per month. If I am on a premium subscription why am I being asked to pay again. Spoke to customer support who said they would extend the years subscription to another 6 months. For what! Just logged on to pc and stills howing I am only on the free version. There is no email address or even postal address to complain to. I refuse to go though chat again and certaily am not wasting my time on a phone call.
AVG customer service is of no help whatsoever. I told them that the site I purchased this from was not legit, and they didn't care. I recommend never wasting your money on this junk.
I have never had such a terrible interaction with any such service provider ever. I would never recommend AVG to anyone!
Another example of the trickery that is called 'automatic subscription renewal.' How many customers are caught out by this? If you don't happen to see the email, you might find yourself paying a whole lot more next time round! Last year, I got a discounted price of £18 for AVG Tune-Up, but I was shocked to see an email advising me of an automatic subscription renewal at a cost of £44.99! It seems these jokers will do their best to rip you off, unless you bother to track down their chat facility, and bother to challenge them! The AVG adviser I spoke to explained away the hike in price as new additions to the protection software. I say, "Nonsense!" These jokers set a sneaky, high price for their product, and hope that you won't notice. If you do, expect to haggle, like your buying a gourd in some Marakesh souk. I know I caught this guy out. He offered me a 30% discount, followed by a desperate 60% discount, by which time, he'd lost my custom and respect entirely. It took three requests for a cancelation before he finally gave in. I had to fight for it! These people are nothing more than online bandits, little better than the scammers from overseas!
AVG's browser is invasive, takes up over 625 Megabytes on my PC and was installed without my consent. It's similar to malware which can't be removed. I attempted to uninstall it repeatedly without much success.
This company simply sucks. Their customer service is rude, inept and thoroughly unprofessional. They auto renew your licenses for products purchased and the CLAIM to send you a " heads-up" email. THEY ARE LIARS. I checked my inbox, nothing from AVG. Then it dawned on me, this is AVG - better check my JUNK MAIL. Alas, nothing there either. THEY LIE. BEWARE.
Never admit that they are wrong. Love to take your cash and not give a care attitude!
They charged me for their service for 3 years in which I didn't use it after the first one. Had to get my bank to investigate why this Scottish based company was taking my money for nothing. Couldn't get it back. AVG didn't care.
Don't go for these products, they wind themselves into every program and slow everything down. Just not worth the aggravation.
Caused my net connections to fail, and their customer support was absolutely rubbish, Would never recommend to anyone! Just outside of refund dates and lost 2 year subscription, Disgusted!
Be very careful if you have installed AVG VPN. I was finding that it will not allow me to access certain sites, it would me a reference number and say unable to access the server. These are well known sites where I need to pay my online bills such as Lowes.com or bbvausa, etc. I found I could access these sites on my IPad but not my house computer, so I turned off the AVG VPN, low and behold I can now access the sites I have been using for years to pay my bills again. I got the AVG VPN when I purchased the AVG ultimate. I will NOT make that mistake again.
Answer: Yes. You don't ever want to have several anti virus software running against each other. They do not compliment each other
Answer: I used avast on my first computers. It worked okay. Really type in what is the best anti virus software in google. Avast isn't in the running for my opinion. AS i've said before in another post, don't get cheep about this. There are some good deals, but you'll have to spend hours doing the research.
