Before my mother made her first payment, they raised her premium from $27.00 per month to $51.00. And her prescription drug costs skyrocketed from $46.00 to $550.00. Blue Cross Blue Shield lied to my mom to coerce her into signing up. They called her home a hundred times. She is on a life-saving drug but they don't care. They price gouge sick seniors. Do not buy a drug plan from them. It is a scam.
My phones receive multiple calls nearly every day from HCSC "agents". The "general" phone number for HCSC is *******000. When you call them, it goes directly into Blue Cross Blue Shield member services with no way to reach HCSC. If you want to reach anyone within HCSC, call *******378 (option 3 for Agent) to request removal from their phone list.
Move on to another carrier. They are no help, constantly bothering you with nonsense regarding prescriptions, no doctors. The concierge team is a joke! They do nothing but file complaints that never get resolved. So sorry I went with them!
I would have give 0 stars but not an option. Worst HMO. Strongly advise against selecting them if given an option. Poor customer service. Impossible to sf peak to anyone. Co-pays unreasonable. Lamentable.
The WORST insurance company to work with. They do not inform you of any changes, no mail, no email, nothing. They are extremely unhelpful and do not stand behind anything they say. I will be cancelling all insurance through this company today.
If you require anything other than a physical be prepared to pay out of pocket. From rxs to services. They cover a whopping $5 off short term inhalers. For us paying 650. A month. And 4000. For our deductible. They refused to cover 3 long term inhalers even after speaking directly to my husband's physician.
I am currently in a class action lawsuit for the last 3 years. BCBS price gouged me for 10 years and caused tremendous stress and financial strain on me and my family. It has been decided BCBS was price gouging but I will only be reimbursed a fraction and this is unacceptable. My quest now will be to inform every person; business owners, companies of their greed, corruption and incompetence. This is by far the worst coverage from health insurance that I've ever had! They deny medications that I have been using for years under other carriers without a problem. They refuse to replace my five year old CPAP machine because they say I don't need it because my apnea isn't severe enough. How can they determine that without knowing me nor my doctor? And why is that their decision? The customer service is awful. You have to wait for a half hour or more to speak to someone and then they give you attitude. I am a few years from retiring and I wouldn't buy this carrier if my life depended on it. I am so disgusted and feel uncared for. I am terrified of the thought of future health issues that BC/BC won't cover.
As soon as i can i am cancelling my companys medical insurance with BlueCross and going elsewhere. I have been with BlueCross for over twenty five years. But the decline in quality, product and customer service has sunk so low i can no longer tolerate them.

I'm just here to write a complain about michelle. She was rude,didn't let me speak and acted like i was in the wrong. I was already in so much stress and she kept telling me that she "can't go back and fourth" just because i called them like 4 times. I'm not calling you guys because i think it's fun and i want to waste your time, i needed help with a bill and i didn't understand much, there wasn't any reason for Michelle to treat me like i was her child … She needs to go in training and learn how to deal with customers. I wasn't rude to her at all i just wanted some help.
BCBS "snuck" in huge charges for out patient procedures in 2023. 30% of charges are now paid by the policy holder. Many procedures such as hip replacements are now done as outpatients these days. This can result in MANY THOUSANDS of dollars plus $150.00 per day be paid by the policy holder. They also have other possible changes in their policies that I had not noted in the past.
Norfolk foot and ankle group charged my insurance for a l4361 walking boot, ots (short boot) $380 after insurance pays their part- they want me to pay $64 for what they wont cover. This boot all day long can be found on the web $35-$45. I call #bluecrossblueshield federal to say why should i get stuck for paying for this boot when you were overcharged by norfolk foot and ankle group! Never again will i buy any medical product before researching it! Dont get douped yall when this place says your insurance covers it and then they go to charge them so high for it and you still pay for it in the end plus some!
My daughter is dying from drug addiction. Put her in rehab, just for them to kick her out in a week saying outpatient should be fine. She's down to less than 80 pounds and was running away constantly. I appealed, they charged me 3000 dollars for the days that I was appealing, kept her one more week and kicked her out. Tried getting her into another place, The BCBS caseworker, Saba told me that one in arkansas was covered. I had her transported from JDC there, just to be called the next day saying that she was denied because she didn't have an arkansas caseworker. Seems Saba doesn't know anything about how this works. Maybe train her better. My child is dying.
We have had BCBS for about a year and I've never had this many issues with an insurance company. I have spent way too many hours on the phone getting the SAME bills corrected over and over again with no result. It has been an absolute nightmare dealing with Bluecross Blueshield and with the amount of money we are paying to them it's not worth it. Save yourself a few hundred headaches and go with another insurance company.
Bonnie Sheridan extained $7,500 out of pocket expenses from an accident in Play Del Carmen Mex on June 28,2023. We filed for reimbursements on Aug 1,2023. To date no response from BCBS even thought I have called repeatedly and giving no real reason why no payment has been made. I have talked to several CS Reps, whom I could name but won't here, and was told they would call be back but have not. If you are thinking about changing to BCBS...DON'T. They are a scam and will not reimburse. Customer service reps are not trained and give false information. BEWARE!

Refuse they just refuse to give me a medication that I have used for 20 years to keep my depression stable because I can only take the brand name.,now at 3 weeks with no meds, and failing the 2 generics they insisted I fail, still no! I will be checking myself into a mental ward to have the doctors there maybe try and get through to these clinicians! A person who never met me, doesn't know my story, and does not care I am in the pit of hell without my medicine!
You call the number on your card. You get as far as giving your number. Then the IVR tells you to please hold and stay on the line for a quick survey after the call. Then it hangs up. I finally go through another number, same thing, hang up after the IVR asks to stay on the line. 3rd number, finally get someone and I explained what the call is for, instantly put into the IVR again but somehow I get another person. They end up giving another number but proceed to transfer to it first. And once again, the hang up process. I call the number and of course the hang up. BCBS needs to get their crap fixed in the IVR and the actual customer service reps. Pathetic company and all these bad reviews, not even one good or partial review. Unfortunately, I don't have another choice with the company I work for.

I have only been in since July and every month I have had to appeal every medication my dr has prescribed. Look closely at the amount the cover 4600 for a year only lasted 3 months now every thing is out of pocket. Only for millionaires.

AS someone who works in the healthcare industry, prior authorizations and insurance connect is very important. BCBS is the ONLY insurance company that I have MAJOR problems with. I constantly get transferred after being on hold for 25 min to 5 different reps who then tell me they can find the member in the system at all. It takes me all day to do an auth that would normally take minutes with other insurance companies. It is so frustrating not getting anywhere with my BCBS patients. There's multiple phone numbers, multiple transfers and then they end up disconnecting the call after all of the information has been given 5 times to 5 different reps. Something has to be done with this. There should be 1 number for BCBS insurance. This is insane. Being told the member doesn't exist while looking at they're plan which says eligible is mind boggling. PLEASE SOMEONE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS ISSUE. I CANT BE THE ONLY ONE WHO SEE THIS
