Better World Books

I've ordered from BWB many times over the last decade at least and to date have never had a bad experience. Books arrive within the time window advertised and are in the condition claimed. I'm sure there are some with relatively rare bad experiences because nothing is perfect, but based on my experience those are probably exceptions.

Over the previous five years, I have made many purchases. As with my most recent, delivery has been prompt (within the stipulated guidelines) and the books in the advertised condition. That, and BWB's robust support of reading programs, will keep me coming back.

Best online bookstore ever. Prompt shipping, great bargains, quality condition, best prices and easy shopping and checking out. Accurate description of books from an honest staff. Have never been dissatisfied with a selection or a shipment.

So glad that Better World Books exists. I've been shopping Amazon-free for the past year and it feels so good to have a go-to digital bookstore that aligns with my values. Deliveries sometimes take a while to arrive but not too long.

I love so many things about this company but the long waits make me think twice about ordering. In addition I once realized 15 minutes after I sent in the order that I'd entered the wrong delivery address. I immediately contacted and asked for a change... told they would not redirect. Rather disappointing customer service.

Teachers get more for their scarce dollars than any other site I have found. I've order 42 for under $125. They come together in a few sets but always more quickly than I imagined. Spread the word! BetterWorldBooks supports literacy of children!

EnI stumbled upon this site while looking for books to buy. I love it. The books are shipped free if you purchase $25 worth at a time. The books that I received have all be of good quality though some were obviously used. Some look brand new. Definitely worth buying from this site as opposed to the higher priced sites, including Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Once again, a fabulous experience with BWB. Was able to purchase enough copies off an out of print title for all the students in my class. The pricing was so good that even if a student can't cover the cost, I can!

I like to buy used books and wanted to support a company that's more ethical than Amazon. I have ordered multiple times--the only time I had an issue is when a book had supposedly shipped from one of their new book distributors and the shipping tracking never updated from the initial entering. The person I'd emailed with was a bit annoying, as far as saying I had to wait for "14 days from when it should have arrived" and I said if that's in like two days it's clearly not arriving if it shows no evidence of having being transported anywhere. They eventually refunded my money for that book. I was turned off from them for a while but ordered five books recently (for $29, free shipping, including one book sent from the UK) and haven't had any other negative experiences since.

Fast delivery, wide selection, good communication about my order, user friendly website. Two new books cost $35 though with free shopping, what happened to the cheaper days? Maybe this place is not great for new books. They have a great used selection

I've used their site countless times for all my book and movie purchasing needs and would highly recommend that others do the same! Not only is the site easy to browse on but it donates a large portion of the proceeds to charity, ships fast, and normally has books in good condition for very cheap!

Finally found a book supplier not affiliated with Amazon. This company rescues books, sells them at really affordable prices, most with free shipping. I have bought new and used and have received orders when they said I would. Selection is nearly endless, I could spend hours on the site. I've ordered new books, old books, crochet books, educational books, novels... they have everything. I sent my aunt a crochet book and it was delivered very quickly. Unless I'm buying at my locally owned bookstore I'm using Better World Books. Especially during the pandemic and now while I'm healing from a broken foot, I shop online.

Shipping to Holland was just under two weeks, considering it's free I'm completely fine with that.
Books were in good shape, the only one that was a little bit grimy was "Filth" by Irvine Welsh so I thought that was quite fitting.

I'll be ordering again!

I have been a customer for several years and have never had a bad experience. A few years ago my granddaughter was telling me she wanted to own the entire Harry Potter series. I asked her what books she needed and there was only one so I took out my IPad and in 2 minutes we picked out the book and had it sent to her home from Better World Books. I think it cost less than $5 to make a 10 year old reader very happy. She's 15 now and still loves books. I've spread the word in my book clubs and many of my friends are now avid customers. Thank you for providing a great service.

I have purchased books from sites such as this before and there were always delays or issues. But not so with this site! I was very pleased that I got my book in a relatively quick time (especially since I needed it ASAP for a class).

I've been a customer for a few years already and have only good experiences with the store. All the books I ever received were used/ex-library books but always in decent condition and the price was more than fair. I'll be happy to buy from them again.

The books arrived in better condition than I expected. The shipping was as promised and the customer service replied same day when I had a question. Better World Books will be my forever go to for used books from now on.

Over the years, as a school librarian, I have purchased upwards of 600 books from
BWB. To provide resources so that each child in a class could have a research book about a given topic, particularly in history and science, I relied on the great breadth of books available through BWB. My budget went much further and gave a "better bang for the buck." I would bring a box into a classroom anklet the children help unpack it, which added to their sense of adventure and excitement about each topic.

Now retired, I order book club books for myself and friends, as libraries cannot support the demand for many multiple copies, and paying retail prices is beyond the reach of a retiree. All in all, a treasure trove of good reading copies. They are not (or rarely ever) new.

I had ordered two books and when they did not arrive together I wondered why. I contacted BWB and received a quick, polite, even jovial response that offered an explanation. Then I later received the second book (as suggested by BWB). So, my experience with these folks has been exceptional.

I ordered Nightmares and Dreamscapes by Stephen King, a book I have always wanted to read but could not find at any local library. I picked the item from this website because it was the lowest price under my google search. Not only did it come on time, it was in excellent condition! Aside from a name written on the front inside panel, the book looked brand new! It's a quite a large hardback and I think I paid less than $5 for it. You can't beat that!

I've been ordering books through BWB for at least 3 years and have been consistently pleased. Every few orders I'll receive my shipment a few days (3-4 days) later than expected, but no major issues with shipping overall. The "used-good" and "used-very good" condition indicators seems to vary a bit, but I've always felt that the books were a good value for the price, regardless. Plus, I love their dedication to literacy initiatives.

Nice selection of books, something for everyone. Took a little extra time for delivery on the last order (5 weeks), surface mail out of Europe. My book is in reasonable condition and I'm quite happy with it overall. The only thing that I wish I had gotten was a tracking number so I could have checked on the progress of the package, but you can't have everything...
