I am a veteran theater teacher having taught and directed for over thirty-eight years. I came to this publisher because I needed someone to publish and market my book which is a teaching guide for new teachers. I thought they'd give me my time back by signing up with them. Boy, was I incorrect!
I signed up with BMP in August and over the last six months, I've had a horrible experience. The agreement was for BMP to edit, proofread, write press releases, posts social media and publish the book. To date, my book has not been completely edited. Finally, I did the editing and proofreading myself since they couldn't seem to do it themselves. I had to bring in photos for my social media posts and even gave them hashtags to use. They used the same hashtags for each posts which jeopardizes my standing with social media as I'll be considered a bot. I asked for them to be changed and they changed two posts, but did not correct the next month's posts.
Whenever I've asked, repeatedly in writing, for specific tasks to be done (such as taking a link off a blog page they set up for me), they say they will take care of if, but do not. It took them two months to give me a proof of a certificate of copyright. The book trailer was poorly done and contained video clips that were completely inappropriate for my market. Consequently, I gave them new clips to use because I don't trust them to make it according to my requests.
Like everything else with this company, I haven't received the edited trailer--it's been over a month. In my entire life, I have NEVER come in contact with a company as poor as this one. Do NOT sign up with them. I am a reasonable person, but this company is flagrantly unprofessional.
I hired BMP to publish and market my book in August of 2023. It's now January and I still don't have the book! I have been gas lit, out and out lied to and promised everything under the sun. I would send them notes for my book for what needed to be proofread or edited and it would return to me EXACTLY as I sent it with nothing corrected or edited. This occurred many times. They have never been honest with me about the progress of the book, or given me copies of the marketing resources such as the pre-publish press release. I paid extra for an additional copyright coverage and I have no proof (like a certificate or letter) that says it has occurred. One day, I spent two hours on the phone with them trying to put some video links on a new youtube account and instead, they changed my personal youtube account when they were to create a new one! Oh, but they are quick to take your money of that I can concur. I'm just shocked at the ineptness and deception.
Slow service, editing doesn't edit, illustrating needs too many corrections. Not satisfied at all..
Scam artists. Zero communication skills, professionalism, promptness, efficiency, it was all bad day one-stay away!
