Malicious sellers can scam you by hiding a high delivery fee in the original pages like Yahoo Auction Japan. Buyee's pages do not reflect that, and will not care to protect you. They put small hints saying that when the user confirm the order, all responsibilities are on the user.
If you don't speak Japanese, or are just usually careless about legal terms and small notices when shopping online, avoid using this service.

I have used Buyee to purchase several vintage stereo items from Japan.
Japanese products are of outstanding quality, and Buyee provides an convenient way to purchase.
The service is easy to use but the website, particularly with regard to the shipping process, needs to be improved. Buyee's customer service promptly responded to my inquiries about my packages. Impressive.

The only problem with Buyee is that international shipping costs are really very high. Aliexpress sells low quality products from China appears to use some type of subsidized shipping scheme because the international shipping costs are lower than sending a letter from one city in Canada to another.

I'd far rather buy from Japan than anywhere else and if shipping were cheaper, I'd use the service a lot more.
Overall, its a very reliable service with good customer service.

I've used Buyee multiple times specifically to buy anime goods from Mercari Japan. I've always been able to find what I'm looking for even when looking for rare items. Very easy to use and they often have useful coupons. Most recently when I used them they had a whole period of having no service fee, usually it would be another $5 on top of the item price so this was super useful. I'm definitely using them again.

I have used buyee a few times now for various items from Mercari. I've always had good experiences with them, they buy and ship out quickly and the website is easy to use. Fees are clear from the start, their communication about shipping delays this year has been good as well. I recommend them.

Buyee has by far the best quality photos when searching for an specific item and easiest website to navigate.
They also give you an acceptable amount of shipping options though most of the options are quite expensive.
I have come across some packages that were incorrectly weighed. These packages always weighed less than the estimated weight and would mostly occur when it's on the cusp of determining the shipping methods to favor the faster more expensive options. I have been making use of their service since 2014 and have completed over 100 transactions with them.

The process is pretty straightforward and many shipping options are available once products reach their warehouse. You have the option to consolidate packages and store them for 30 days for free. Their fees are very reasonable and their service is fast. There are coupon campaigns all the time and they even have a Firefox extension to add products to your cart directly from supported websites. So far, I haven't had any issues with them. Seriously, I would not hesitate to recommend Buyee to anyone looking for a service of this kind!

I made some purchases through Buyee and I highly recommend! It is the easiest way to buy things directly from Japan that I found. The fees are cheap and the website is very well organized (is easy to find what you want). They offer useful additional services at an affordable price, have several shipping options and are always giving coupons with great discounts too.

Every time it's very hard to communicate with(email and chat both), it took me 6 hours of waiting in a chat at their working hours to get a response without knowing what's the queue or ETA. They make unexpected ridiculous cancellations on Amazon causing you to pay fees twice or not being able to buy an item at all. And with all that, they take ridiculous amount of fees for nothing, they don't deserve them, their prices are not competitive either. You can find a better service, I know, since I did, I won't make it an advertisement but an advice to look a bit better, this guys don't deserve you.

From the set up to completing my purchase, the whole experience was pretty easy and simple. With so many items available that you either can't get here in the States or are much more expensive, Buyee makes it a great platform to be able to shop and save money. It's also really convenient to have so many different websites/stores to choose from :) I definitely recommend Buyee if you're looking for items that you might only be able to find in Japan but live elsewhere.

Some promotions are very useful. Only one reservation concerning combined shipment from domestic Sellers, it will be nice to make this offer for us, frequent buyers.

Bought a vintage toy graded as "No obvious damage" from seller. There were certain cracks when item was received which were not shown in pics. Wrote to Buyee which did not want to review my case as I did not buy insurance. They later insisted that the product looked the same. When I enquired further Buyee claimed even if I have bought their insurance they would still not have refunded. I asked to left a bad review for their seller which they refused. Their view was I could have asked more questions on the product before buying. Please be careful when bidding. If anything goes wrong it is very difficult to get help from their customer service team.

I normally do not shop online much but after visiting Buyee, I never stop shopping online. There is a lot of Japanese staffs and brands as well as used items which is under great and superb condition at very reasonable price... Only thing I always request to improve is to reduce fees or to have more promotion campaign. Enjoy shopping, cheers!

I haven't received anything yet as I just placed my orders but I find the big discounts offered useful, prices are good and shipping coupons make the experience even better as it ends up being absolutely free. I will continue to use the proxy service, thank you!

Buyee gives you several shipping options (depending on weight). They will only show you auctions where the seller is willing to ship internationally. The only thing I think could add combined shipping. I need to send individually, but sometimes I want to combine shipping. Some auctions are prohibited from sale as of the title, possibly indicating a junk item. Buyee is heaven for Hobbies, who prefers Japanese stuff.

I used buyee about 100 times. Many items are blocked on the website for reasons not understandable. It must be some bad algorithm deciding! The customer support is also very poor and strict. The shipping rates are rather expensive and usually there is a heavy import and sales tax when the parcel arrives in the country. So it is rather expensive to use the service. If problems arise customers are often left alone. Buyee has a very strict payment policy.

It's a great app if you buy rarer items or items in lots. Shipping is pretty expensive with my cheapest being $17. I recommend using buyee air delivery over anything else.It's cheap, arrives in a decent amount of time, and better than EMS. I paid $30 shipping with EMS because it said it would arrive faster and air delivery seems to be the same or even quicker.it is a good website but sometimes the seller won't ship. I ordered a wallet but it hasn't shipped in a week. You should always check descriptions and if the seller is active.So you don't get scammed. Also recommend inspection only or the standard plan.If not you may not get your correct item! If you buy something normal you find the shipping a "scam" so I recommend using buyee for actual rare or hard to find products instead. I also don't really recommend buying huge products as shipping will probably be over $100

I have switched to Buyee since my last 3 purchases, easier to use as you do not need to transfer funds to their in house account.
Fees are affordable but make sure you consolidate items to ship together making it worth while.

I have been using buyee for about a year now and using their automated bid/checkout process makes shopping for items in japan very easy. I appreciate them being willing to hold my items for free during the pandemic shipping limitations as well!

Currently i'm using this website for the first time to buy from japan mercari and so far it has been effortlessly easy to use and navigate! Some might shy away from all the fees however the website also has frequent promotions that can help buyers save on items and shipping costs. I highly recommend this to find rare and unique items from japan and i'll definitely be go back to the site in the future :)

I love this service. There are a lot of rare Japanese items. It's so easy to use. A lot of shipping options and coupons. Low fees as well. I like option to store your purchase for 30 days. One thing I don't like is double shipping (domestic and international). But anyway after all calculation it's not too bad. I recommend this site.

Good experience, the proxy service is useful, prices are cheap and they issue many coupons from time to time to get discounts. I placed my orders and I am still waiting to receive everything but I'm happy with it already.

I have been using Buyee for a while and enjoy buying items from Mercari via Buyee. All is good except Buyee customer service is very bad and the worst I have ever encountered. I would say Buyee has no customer service or service recovery at all.

Everything is customer fault and end up I have to pay the unnecessary 1,500 yen for the extra protection that I NEVER choose. If I don't pay, I will not have the items shipped home. From there on, any new purchase I just ship 1 item at a time to avoid such system fault and pay unnecessary money.

I would have given Buyee 5 stars but the customer service just pull all down. Maybe Mercari can consider to have another partnership or agent for oversea customers to choose. Hopefully this will drive Buyee to has a proper customer service.
