Camping World Never Again
December 14, 2024

Absolute disrespected, lied to and my property was damaged. My wife set up a consignment for our 2021 Outback Toy Hauler.
Mark at Camping World in Apollo, PA was specifically asked if we needed to clean or winterize the unit before dropping it off at the dealership on September 6,2024.
Mark stated that Camping World would take care of any work that needed done at our expense and Camping World would not be responsible for winterization unless Camping World did it themselves.
We agreed and met with Mark to sign the paperwork. High insight, the first red flag was when he tried to get us to sign paperwork selling the camper for way below what it was was worth.
40k RV offered buyout Price 28k. I immediately corrected the situation by explaining that he quoted us 35k on the phone after the sale.
Then the inspection he claimed repairs needed done to the camper that would also come out of the total sale, which we felt were ridiculous as well.
We agreed and signed the consignment agreement. Sometime around the middle of October Mark called my wife and stated the weather would be getting cold soon and reconfirmed the winterization of the unit.
Then on December 4,2024 my wife receives a call from Mark asking why we haven't picked up our unit yet.
She states that we dropped it off on the 6th of September and that Camping World didn't even get it listed on their website until October.
Mark proceeds to tell my wife that I called him and told him I was coming to get the camper before Thanksgiving.
Confused about the comment, my wife asks me if I ever called camping world. First of all, I never called this guy or ever received a call from this guy.
My wife set up the whole arrangement with her contact info. All I ever did was drive the unit to camping world and sign the consignment paper.
Then Mark replied with the comment "well your time is up, come and get your camper". So, at this point it wasn't a big deal as we figured he was confused about who he spoke with or that he may of had some memory issues.
I get in my truck and drive the 1 hour and 40 minute ride to Apollo Camping World to pick up my camper. The camper was located in the front pick up area with several others. I backed up to the camper and started to hook up.
The power leveling device had no power, seemed odd that two brand new 8 hour batteries were dead. I plug in to the truck to get power and every single light on the camper lit up like a Christmas tree.
Well that explains why the batteries are completely dead. At this point I'm a little bit irritated as I decide to open up the camper and inspect for anything that might need attention before I hit the road.
I test the faucet for antifreeze and it's frozen solid. All five faucets are frozen solid and I can only imagine the hot water tank and pump.
I walk in to Marks office and politely ask him about the dead batteries and the winterization. He states that there are over 300 campers on the lot and they can't keep them all charged.
Ok what about every light in the camper on. They forgot to shut them off. What about the frozen lines. Mark bold face lies to my face saying "You called me and told me not to winterize it, I have the note here on my desk"
Are you kidding me right now? So I get the keys and the title back from Mark and finish getting the camper ready to go. I look at the title and to my disbelief it has been signed and notarized sold by camping world.

Camping world Kodak Tn. Never again
October 21, 2024

Bought my RV on sept 7th 2024 was told to pick up on Sept 11 2024 so we cut or vacation short to pick it up. Wasn't ready so we lost the days rental on our vacation and a day from our vacation. Along with several other issues listed below.
1. mattress was covered in blood stains and was told it would have a new mattress in it when we picked it up. Took over a month after we picked it up to finally get it. So we had to cancel our first camping trip that we had reserved on their word it would be ready.

2. The 90 minute walk through we were forced to pay a whole lot of money for took less than 15 min. I had to google how to winterize it because they guy giving the tutorial simply said ( you owned a camper you already know everything I can teach you) had 3 witness with me

3. During walk through I noticed a decal was removed from the front overheld cowl. I asked about it and was told it was just a decal applied by the previous owner and it had been removed. Turns out it was a decal from the Rental company that used to rent it out! I was told it was a 1 owner but never told it was a rental! Illegal in Tennessee to sell a rental without disclosing that fact!

4. was told all plumbing was pressure tested. When I ran water through the system the gray tank valve leaked everything into the underneath storage compartment.

5. was told everything was serviced and ready to go. Well when we got it home the oil was completely black and according to the window sticker about 1000 miles overdue and the air filter was almost complexly clogged with dirt. Cost me close to 300.00 for a service!

6. was told the 2pin holes in the canopy would be patched and all fixed up. Well guess what. They were not.

7. was told it would be cleaned up and ready to go camping. It took me and my wife 3 hours to clean it up and remove all the dead stink bugs out of it.

8. have called, emailed and messenger messaged over and over and over and promised they would call and resolve all these issues... well I'm still waiting. But I did receive a grey tank valve in the mail from them today for me to install.

We love the RV but will never do business nor recommend them to anyone.

Their online social media team has reached out to me and said they will call me within 2 days to resolve all of this as well. That was 4 days ago. They said they are still trying to get them to call! I have saved every message and have all documents and witnesses getting ready to send in to the better business bureau and then continue on from there till I get it resolved!

I expected strong arm sales tactics. I expected what they promised to fix before picking up the new rv wouldn't be done. They never fail. But the most amazing low thing the finance did was adding over $4,000 to the finance price on the last paperwork to sign. And no apologies. Just "my fault". This transaction was yesterday. I forgot to ask Bill the finance manager which salon he goes to cause I'm loving the manscaping. And it's not just camping world that are sleazy. Most of the rv dealers are. I expected bloated fees added to the sale but these guys are so confident and got large balls to actually add almost 5k to the finance price. Bravo for being sh*tbags. Go make that money. With the "final paperwork". You have to sit and listen to the extra warranty sales pitch so Bill can eat. Bill knew it wasn't going to be a deal so he took off 70%. Imagine that.
Addition: Purchase rv on 7/25/24, finance said that everything was all set. Loan was approved. Nothing to worry about.
On 7/29/24, camping world sent paperwork to the rv manufacturer that the rv was sold.
On 7/30/24, finance manager Bill called and wanted 10k deposit cause the bank didn't approve the loan.
Then Bill lowered it to 5k. Then Bill wants to sign a new contract with the selling price 5k less. Or they want the rv back and will not say anything about getting 100% of the deposit back.
I don't trust the words coming out of these sales camping world people. It's an attorney
Communication from this day forward. Let the lawyers figure this out. Nothing sounds legitimate. Let the expensive lawvers deal with this. Tis is what lawvers are paid for.
Update 8/14/24
Qualified with their out the door financing. 5 days later they called and wanted 10k cause the bank wanted more money camping world said. Then It went down to 5k. And then they lowered the price of the original agreement to 5k less. Zero TRUST after the bold scamming of changing the price during signing. The answer was "my fault" and then days later it was "I'm human". News alert. This is a common tactic used by corrupt sales. Lots of elderly customers are trusting on these younger men and don't like to cause trouble. Finally believed they had issues with the bank when corporate got involved. So resigned a new agreement for 5k less so the bank would approve. I'm still waiting for those gift cards to take down this post. And I didn't get the email from corporate to sign the disclosure form to not talk negative about camping world. PS, don't bullsh!t a bullsh!ter. I'm too old to be playing games. Zero customer service. Arrogance all the way to the end.
It's sad to think that this is a public company. And that bank underwriter, who most likely got the job by getting a certificate wouldn't comprehend that most people that applies for a loan has to provide a current pay stab. Underwriter wouldn't accept the 7 months of income from the beginning of this year which would show the true numbers. Just relying on the tax returns and basing everything on the debt accumulated from last year doesn't reflect the true picture. This investor comments are above most people's head and will not be understood. Camping world needs to blame the underwriter and have them take more classes and get more certificate of participation.

Bad Deal
July 10, 2024

This is true, and facts are correct. This took place in Augusta, GA. I had looked at this 2022 Thor Freedom Traveler M30 motorhome that set on a Ford Commercial Vehicle chassis at the beginning of November of 2023, and the reason I did not buy it at that time, there were some damages inside, bathroom door needed to be hung, radio missing, 3 small holes in the floor, driver seat left are rest broken. The milage at that time was 5662 miles.
November 29th 2023, I purchased a 2022 Thor Freedom Traveler M30 motorhome vin number 1F65F5DN5M0A***** from Camping World, Augusta Ga. At no time I was offered to test drive this motorhome, and had I did a test drive I would not made that purchase.
Before I got off the Camping World lot, I noticed an amber engine light on the dash board, when I ask about it, I was told the gas cap was not properly seated, when I checked the gas cap, it was true, the gas cap was never put back on the gas tank, I made sure it gas cap was on correctly. The amber engine light never went out. I also ask why the brake pedal goes to the floor when the pedal was pushed down, I never got an answer.
After I arrived home, I made a call to the "Thor" motorhome manufacture only to learn that the engine light is Ford Commercial Vehicle issue and should contact them.
After checking with Ford Commercial Vehicle to locate a repair I was told that Ford Commercial Vehicle repair does not work on motorhome. On Friday, June 7,2024, I was on the phone with the ford commercial vehicle tech for over 2 hours, on hold from time to time while she called Ford repair shop in Columbia, SC, Sumter SC, Lexington SC, Augusta Ga, Greenville SC. Per the Ford Tech, seems we are unable to assist you at this time.
Ready to give up, I took the 2022 Thor motorhome to Excel Truck Group, Columbia, SC where a tech tested the engine light and found a code #P0420. This is a code that means that the catalytic converter failed, the Excel tech also noticed that the catalytic converter had been replaced HOWEVER, an after market failed to preform like the factory catalytic converter would.
The Excel tech did test the brakes and notice a hydraulic leak around a cylinder on the brake booster.
The issue for the catalytic converter should have been corrected by Ford Motor company before the sale.
The issue with the brake booster should have been corrected by Ford Motor company before the sale.
I did a Carfax search on the vin found 1 open recall, 1 service history record, that should have been repaired prior to the sale. Ford Commercial Vehicle tech confirmed the open recall and noted that this recall is for a safety hazard.
Let's recap:
Issues with 2022 Thor Freedom Traveler M30 motorhome vin number 1F65F5DN5M0A***** purchased from Camping World, Augusta Ga
1. The engine light should have been repaired;
There is an orange/Yellow light that stays on
When operating the motorhome, the engine
light should have been repaired prior to the
Sale of the motorhome.
2. the brake booster has a brake fluid leak that
Should have been replaced;
3. The safety recall should have been applied.
4. the driver's seat is missing an arm rest.
5. steering needs tighten up, have to chase steering
To keep the vehicle in your lane.
6. when it rains a water leak above the driver's seat.
7. missing tv remotes for outside tv.
8. missing tv dvr that is part of the tv sat system.
9. when driving the AC unit is not working properly.
10. Leveling jacks are not working properly/correctly

The first 5 items should have been repaired/replaced prior to
putting the motorhome for sale.

I strongly believe that the camping world management, maintenance techs knew of these safety issues and now it is up to me to find a Ford Commercial Vehicle repair shop to correct these issues.
Camping World should pay for these repairs, not me
I will not purchase anything from Camping World again.
All above have been documented.

Holding RV Hostage until I pay for their FireHazard Mistakes a second time.
May 3, 2024

Zero Stars! They don't deserve the 1 star I'm forced to give to leave this review!

I had been told by the Camping World Store on Sep 12,2022 my RV Inverter/Converter 3000 watt may not be working properly. They could not get one that large but did look it up and told me where I could get one.

I picked one up at Home Depot on Sep 21,2022 in case that was the issue. I took the RV to camping world same day after I had just Bought 4 new batteries. The place I bought them from did not work on RV's so they said to have Camping world hook them up. I made an apt with Camping World and let them know that my lights and fan on the inside worked intermittently. They were going to hook up the batteries, and if the batteries were not the problem, I had the Inverter/Converter there if they needed to change that out. They said the batteries were not the issue, and then they said the Inverter was not working properly. So, they changed that out. They were having a 10 point inspection sale & a slide out maintenance sale, I agreed to both. They found 2 shorts with battery & electrical, I paid to have that fixed too.

They said it was ready to pick up. I had my friend Edria take me there to pick it up on Jan 13,2023. Nothing was working still. I turned it on, and it smelled funny. The batteries started burning. I shut it off, and they had a service person come out and they said they fixed it, I can take it now. I said no, nothing is still working. We were yelled at, degraded, treated like we were stupid because we were female by the manager. I was told by the manager "I do not guarantee our service work, unless you bought the RV from camping world. Did you buy the RV from Camping world?" We were treated horribly, talked down to like we were stupid and we walked out. As we were leaving there was a poster that said "'If you are not happy, I am not happy' Call my office *******990 Or Email me at *******@campingworld.com" So as I was leaving I was calling this corporate number and left a message. Before I got home I got a call back from them. I was told Corporate would speak to Camping World Grain Valley MO and get this fixed.

After a few days, Camping world Grain Valley said it was ready again. I talked to Corporate, they said they double checked everything and it was good to go, please go pick it up. Camping World Grain Valley MO charged me another $350. So I went to pick it up and once again it was not working. This time I was very angry. This was ridiculous. The service manager came and walked me through it. He told me that the only problem was the batteries were not charged up. He said if it does not work this time, he will personally take care of it, and I will not have an issue. After about 30 min, I paid and took the RV around the end of January.

I took it to Wolds of Fun Village and plugged it in for a couple days, nothing. It was still not working. I called Corporate let them know what was going on and it still was not working but I was at WOF Village plugging it in to charge the batteries. Corporate told me they would keep working on getting this taken care of, to give them an update after I figure out what is going on with the batteries.

I called corporate again to give them an update on the batteries, They told me they would get back to me. Corporate did NOT get back to me but I did get a phone call from Kevin Zawachi about Jan 5,2023 from Camping World Grain Valley. He apologized, and said he can see that the paperwork did not reflect all the work done on the RV. He will make sure when I bring it in he will have his service manager correct all the paperwork to show all the work they did on the RV which should be covered by the company warranty. Kevin told me specifically "do not bring the RV in without an appointment with me personally." Kevin said "I will have the service manager make sure the paperwork is correct, document all the work they did, complete any work that wasn't done, and make sure the RV is ready for travel." I let him know I had surgery that day (so he emailed me his contact info), so It would be about a month or so before I can drive again.

I contacted him as soon as I was up and around on March 6,2023. I then got the run around from him, and he would not correct the paperwork, or the issue. I have many emails to show this. The last time Kevin responded to one of my emails was May 26,2023. I emailed him last on June 2,2023 I then called multiples times to make sure he was still working there and try to set up an appointment to take the RV in to Camping World Grain Valley.

I took it to Wolf Lodge on Aug 7th 2023 to show someone the unit, and when I went to slide out the slider, it did not work. It stayed out some, because I did not want to screw it up more, I took it to the local Camping world KCK on Aug 7th 2023. I let them know what was going on and that everything should be under warranty. At this time it was within the 1year warranty for another 6months. When I dropped it off with Camping World KCK, I specifically told them "I want all warranty work done FIRST, before you look at anything else or do anything else; because I don't want to owe you a bunch of money and still have an RV that is not working."They said no problem. I said once the warranty work is done, then we can talk about anything else that needs done. But first I need this warranty work done before I will agree to any other fees. They said no problem.

We had a bad winter, and they called a few times saying they were waiting on a price for parts, then they could not get to the unit because of the weather. Camping World (KCK) called me last winter, while the RV was in their care and told me they had a special sale. KCK asked if I wanted to have it winterized, since it's going to be there through the winter. I was told there was too much ice in their parking lot and the RVcouldn't be pull out to have my unit worked on properly, so they wanted to winterize it. I OK'd the price to winterize it. Camping World KCK did not winterize the RV even though they held the RV the whole winter, I still do NOT know if anything broke on this RV do-to non-winterization. Camping World KCK never let me know of this extra part (quarter turn ball valve) that needed to be replaced before it could be winterized (I found this on my own looking through the estimates they gave me Jan 20th 2023)and Camping World KCK just chose not to winterize my RV while they held it ALL winter long for repair.

In this phone call they also said they were waiting on a pricing for a part, when I asked what part I was told they were not sure and that they would get back with me. I assumed, it had to do with the warranty work on the converter. Camping World KCK never got back to me.

I spoke to Beth on Monday April 8th 2024 and was told she would get this done for me. She gave me a price of about 500 or less for extra things they found wrong. I said great, but do not fix anything until the warranty work is complete. She said no problem. Then my daughter called and was told it was fixed, they took it to camping world in Grain Valley, they fixed their installation error, and it was ready to be picked up. I owed 1200. To pick it up. She explained why I needed to pay the $2248.40. I asked for an itemized work order, because that is not what we spoke about earlier that week. She then said Wait. Let me figure this out.

She got back to me April 11th 2024 at 5:23pm and said NO Work had been done on my RV YET. She said Grain Valley will not approve the work. I said let's call corporate then. She said she can not, she instructed me to call corporate. I then called corporate and was told Terry in Grain Valley was typing and saying I never even paid my bill in Grain Valley, and she will not cover anything. She also said that Grain Valley does not cover their work, only their parts and because I did not buy the part from them, there is nothing Grain Valley will do. I was very angry!

The estimate Camping World (KCK) gave to me on Jan 20,2024 is incorrect. They have my Drop off date on this estimate to be incorrect considering they have had it since last year on Aug 7th of 2023. The InService date should reflect the proper date that I dropped my RV off with Camping World KCK.

May 1st 2024 NOW I'm being told that if I don't pay for it FIRST (they haven't fixed anything) then pick it up by May 10th 2024, I will start being charged storage. Yet it was only April 8th 2024 that I was told that Camping World KCK already completed the work and fixed all the warranty work (converter, slide out, light bulbs), and it was ready for pick up. To come and find out once again it was all a LIE, I was told by Beth that not one thing had been fixed on my RV. Terri Bartlett (Region Customer Service Manager from Grain Valley Claiming to be Corporate) told me I had to pay $1600 to pick it up, even though no work has been done (This sounds like price gouging.) At that time Terri Bartlett (Region Customer Service Manager from Grain Valley Claiming to be Corporate) also told me "You need to pay to have the converter put in properly because right now it is a fire hazard." The $1600 for me to pick it up was just the price for the estimate to prove that Camping World Grain Valley MO screwed up putting in the converter. Yet Grain Valley refuses to cover it even though Camping World KCK had it for a total of 6months while it sat in their possession still under warranty.

I have attached a couple email examples shared with Kevin starting immediately after pickup, and with Terri Bartlett (Region Customer Service Manager from Grain Valley) who claims to be corporate but can't look up the picked up or dropped off dates or any correspondence. Terri Bartlett (Region Customer Service Manager from Grain Valley Claiming to be Corporate) is now resorting to sending me multiple emails with the exact same thing in it, all in one day. I also corresponded with Corporate before I ever even picked up my RV in the end of Jan 2023. I have stated everywhere to everyone it was not working that is why I originally refused pickup on Jan 13,2023. I brought my witness Edria with me on Jan 13,2023, because I was being treated horribly and I needed help.

The RV was dropped off at Camping World KCK AUG 7,2023 that was 6 months before the warranty was up. I had already OK'd the warranty items to be fixed under warranty. What I did NOT OK was any other charges, which I have said multiple times on multiples occasions. I have also said on multiples occasions that I want the warranty items fixed. Yet, instead of fixing the issues under warranty they held my RV until the warranty was out then said your warranty is up even though they still have the RV and have had the RV since Aug 7th, 2023 when it still had 6mo warranty left on it.

Again I am not sure why any of this back and forth between Grain Valley, Kevin Zawacki (General Manager Grain Valley), Terri Bartlett (Region Customer Service Manager from Grain Valley Claiming to be Corporate), Corporate, and KCK is any of my problem since it is all Camping World Holdings Inc. and this seems like it should be an internal issue and not one that Camping World should be publicly displaying to their customers. This is how you lose customers, get bad reviews, bad publicity, complaints with BBB (by the way they just lied to BBB earlier today), complaints with the state and/or legal actions taken. Corporate should be handling this properly in-house, instead of giving customers the run around and sending them to other people who refuse to handle things properly (AKA Terri Bartlett). I am very disappointed in the Customer Service and unbusinesslike practices of the Camping World Holdings Inc employees that I have so far had the displeasure of having them manage my Customer File.

Tip for consumers:

Never go to Camping World and never let anyone you know go to Camping World.

Buyer Beware
December 12, 2023

BUYER BEWARE --

If you're under the guise that buying an RV from what seems to be a reputable dealer is the way to go; make sure you do your homework about their policies and procedures, and bring your own mechanic.

If you plan on spending 50% in markups in comparison to Facebook Marketplace because you think your concern will be prioritized, do yourself a favor and find an extended warranty to purchase for 10% of the selling price, and buy from ANYWHERE else.

My experience may be one very unique, specific one; but at this point, after working with the company for 6 weeks, including Marcus Lemonis's office directly, it is one to be aware of.

The Story:
We bought an RV in mid-October. It had been inspected by Camping World and was a 2017 Thor. We believed Camping World to be a reputable company, and Thor to be reliable, and therefore, we proceeded with the purchase.

Within 3 days we contacted our Sales Representative Virgil Swarts to inform him of a loss of power issue and hydraulic codes being reported by the dash of the RV. He asked us to call the service department, which we did promptly. They informed us they could not accept the RV until 11/30; to which we replied would not be acceptable due to the cancellation of a trip already, assuming we bought a quality product that met the rigorous inspection required by Camping World before sale. Between contacting the Service Department and Virgil a few times, we were able to get it back into the Service Department within a week of purchase.

At this point, we thought the hiccups would be resolved and we could move on. We were planning to move to Kentucky in the RV on December 12, and the issues would definitely be resolved before then right? We just bought the thing. Marcus Lemonis definitely takes more pride in his work than teh average Joe on facebook right?

Here we are. Today is December 12. We've had to arrange $6000 of expenses in flights, cars, and hotels. I will have to be with the children on the flight by myself so my husband can drive the dogs in our car. The Service Manager has no expectation of the RV being done today.

We've asked multiple channels if they could keep the RV to do a thorough review of it, cancel our contract, and sell it to another family. They've refused.

We asked if they would at least ship it since we will be so far away, and as a family of 9, it would be a nightmare for us to send myself or my husband alone to retrieve it and they've refused.

They do not stand by their friendliness, service or product. Beware of the canned schpiel they give you. They DO NOT support the buyer after purchase.

Again, this was just our experience, but throughout this, we have worked with every aspect of the dealership and service department and have not had a good experience. Just be educated prior to patronizing this place. It's been a nightmare for us.

Don't ever buy from Camping World Uxbridge
November 25, 2023

One star is too good a rating for Camping World in Uxbridge.
I bought a new camper in October 2022. There were problems from the beginning. Although the salesman was pleasant, there was no communication with anyone else. The manager did not pay attention to what I said and when I called back a week later, I was told that the financing hadn't been checked into yet. After that, the service department did not totally fix the issues I found with the camper prior to delivery. The man who delivered the trailer was lovely.
When I signed the financing papers, I explained that I would not be able to bring the trailer in for service and was told there is a mobile technician who would come to the camper to deal with issues.
At the beginning of the season in May 2023, I found an issue with the awning and immediately called service who did not respond or call me back. After numerous calls to service, an appointment was made for the mobile technician to come to the trailer. The morning he was to come, he called and said that he wasn't coming and asked me to send him pictures of the issue. I did so and nothing happened for about 3 more months. When I called back to see what was going on, I was told, oh the part is here, the technician will be there on a certain date. He did not show, nor did I receive a call. In their favor, I was told that he was on another call and may not be able to get there. Again, no call. When I called back to service, I was given a runaround. An appointment was made and I arranged for a neighbor to be available. The technician did not talk to her or explain what he was doing. In fact, after he left, the awning was worse than before he came. I spoke to service again and was told that there was a different issue but the technician did not take the appropriate pictures. I was asked to take pictures. After I opened the awning and finally found the area to take the picture, I started to put the awning back in and the cylinder fell off the side arm. Fortunately, my neighbor was able to help. I sent pictures of the fallen cylinder. It was now about 3 weeks before the manufacturer's warranty was ending. I was told that I would need to pay mileage for the technician to come out and that it didn't matter anyway because the damage was obviously caused by weather so it wouldn't be covered anyway.
I asked that all communication with the service department be provided to me and I have not heard anything back from them.
Promises made and broken. They want your money and will not live up to their warranty or promises to be available.

Unacceptable resolution a year in the making
November 21, 2023

The experience with the Manassas Virginia Camping World and Corporate office of Marcus Lemonis has been absolutely awful! The lack of urgency to resolve the issues, lack of respect and complete discrimination towards paying customers is disgusting!

We purchased a used RV in October 2022 and are in the resolution stages of an issue which was to be repaired shortly after purchasing. Just today, November 21,2023, over a year, we have come to a resolution, however still not a happy customer!

During our test drive, prior to purchasing, we experienced a death wobble while driving on Sudley Manor Dr. The entire unit shook violently. We were all in shock and terrified. The salesman was at a loss for words and upon return to dealership, shared the experience with his DM. With that said we were told if purchased the death wobble, along with a few minor repairs (back up lights, etc.) the issues will be fixed. This was October 2022. Long story short, our RV was in the care of Camping World from November 2022 to May 2023 when we picked it up and still experienced the death wobble! During November 2022 to May 2023 the communications with the DM, head of service department and the service department was total disrespect, turned to be signs of discrimination. Our RV's issue was not a major concern or priority. We reached out to corporate, Marcus Lemonis' office and felt we would get the assistance needed. Well we were wrong. We went through months of spotty communication, 2 case managers, a supervisor manager and then a regional manager got involved in September 2023. We continuously went back and forth and waited weeks to get responses. Once a letter was sent stating we were done with trying to resolve the death wobble issue and expected a refund for our vehicle, things started moving, slowly! Camping World promised to fix the issue and was responsible for finding mechanics to do just that. They did send it to 2 locations between November 2022 and May 2023, however decided not to go with the recommended fix and use in house mechanic to replace king pins and motherboard., which did not fix the issue. After picking RV up and still experiencing issue and waiting for communication from Camping World Manassas and corporate, we took our RV to a mechanic over 40 miles away. Remember we still have the death wobble and our safety as well as the other drivers on the road are in jeopardy. We received an estimate from the mechanic and corporate states they will only cover half of the estimate. Not acceptable for us. The longevity to come to a conclusion to fix the death wobble, the disrespect and discrimination to only cover partial is crazy. So we now go another month to resolve with corporate and the Regional Market Manager is now getting involved. We have a scheduled meeting to discuss payment of estimate and the treatment and of course 10 minutes into waiting for the meeting, we are told it needs to be rescheduled. So with numerous calls and emails after no communication as to date of rescheduled meeting, we finally get a call, Nov. 21,2023 to have said meeting, without the Regional Market Manager. The proposed resolution was Camping World will cover full estimate with us the customer signing a release stating all and any other issues are null and void. The human resource issue with the disrespect, discrimination and amount of time to correct this issue will not be looked at other than in house as a training opportunity for employees. Camping World felt no compensation was needed.
Wow! So I do not recommend purchasing or dealing with Camping World at all and especially the Manassas VA location!

We are not happy!

Tip for consumers:

Took over a year to try to resolve our issue, much disrespect and discrimination.

Camping World Lifelong Customer No More
November 1, 2023

I will no longer do business with Camping World in Cedar Falls, after 32 years as a Camping World customer.

We purchased a new rear bedroom 5th wheel from Camping World Cedar Falls in August 2017. We asked our salesperson if the single 12.5k BTU rooftop A/C would be adequate without a 2nd rear bedroom A/C unit. He assured us it would be fine as-sold. Thankfully, we also purchased the extended warranty for the unit although we usually don't buy these warranties.

July 23 - Aug. 20,2018: in for A/C service (not working in "auto" mode and compressor cycling frequently); no problem found, but CW replaced the thermostat. CW installed a rear bedroom A/C unit at CW's strong recommendation at our cost. Front A/C compressor was still cycling frequently, so CW replaced the front thermostat a 2nd time.

June 21 - July 26,2019: Front A/C stopped working. CW said the cause was compressor failure. A rainwater leak was caused by improper rear bedroom rooftop A/C installation. CW replaced the rear ceiling panel, A/C seal, and installed a new and larger A/C unit in front.

July 21 - Aug. 18,2022: Front A/C stopped working again. CW replaced the top unit, thermostat, and controller with identical parts.

Sept. 26 - Oct. 24,2023: Front A/C stopped working a 3rd time due to compressor leak. Only contacted by CW once to ask whether there was supposed to be a heat pump in the front unit. I responded not as far as I knew. CW replaced the failed unit with a correct single-mode.

In conclusion, it took CW many years of mid-camping-season service encounters to figure out that they had installed a 2-mode (heat pump and A/C) top unit back in 2019 that was apparently incompatible with the heat/cool thermostat. In 2022 they replaced everything with identical (still incompatible) replacements. I did not receive any explanation of their mistake until I pressed for details. I did not receive an apology for their original mistake, let alone how many iterations–and many shortened camping seasons–it took them to figure it out. I even gave them the opportunity to "make it right" with me by doing several (mostly labor) goodwill gestures and they declined.

I was told by 2 different CW Service Advisors on two separate occasions that "they don't make things like they used to". While this may be true, I let each of them know that I wasn't very happy if that was the case, since I spent almost $50k buying that "poorly made" 5th Wheel from them at the same location. This was particularly upsetting, because my wife and I were considering buying a new RV from them, and they'd even captured this in their service notes in 2022. The Service Advisors should have been blaming their department, rather than a poorly made unit. This reflects an unfortunate culture at CW where they're making excuses instead of providing competent, professional, responsive and prompt service to their customers. After being a long-time loyal customer, I am disappointed that I have received this kind of service and will be looking for a new dealership to purchase and service RVs

Horrible rv purchase experience
October 6, 2023

Horrible experience, if you care to read I'll start at the beginning. I purchased a pre owned 2017 keystone alpine from camping world Vacaville, in July of this year 2023. Going in I wasn't positive on what exactly I was looking for but the salesman jake Freedy was extremely helpful and knowledgeable as well as friendly and personable. Once he showed me the alpine he was up front and honest on the fact that he didn't know much about this particular unit but he was willing to get answers to any questions I had, negotiations went smoothly and I felt like I got a pretty good deal for the trailer plus a two year warranty. As part of the deal, they provided a walk around to explain operations and use of the unit before picking up to which the person giving me the walk around could not tell me much of anything besides where the thermostat and light switches were. During the walk around the fridge beeped and said no ac (no electric) and the air conditioner was finicky to which he said was caused by their generator not producing enough power which I trusted and didn't think twice of. Big mistake. As part of negotiations camping world agreed to hold my trailer on the lot for one month while I cleared a spot on my property to store it. After picking up the trailer on September 6th and having it plugged in at my property for about a day, the ac surged and a popping noise came from underneath while I was checking out my new purchase, followed by lots of smoke. I grabbed a fire extinguisher and quickly unplugged the trailer and immediately called camping world. They directed me to their warranty mobile mechanic to which I paid out of pocket for his emergency fee as his appointments were 6 weeks out. Justin with fixmyrvfast.com was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and professional and continued to come out several days a week for two to three weeks to work on the trailer. After many diagnostics and searching for the main cause of the issue he informed me that he was willing and capable to find and fix the issue, but that this electrical issue was major as well as a safety/ fire hazard and that camping world needed to take responsibility and make it right. After being run around I finally got a call from the service manager Joe, and he picked my trailer up on Monday 10/2/2023 and is currently being worked on. I have missed hours of work to deal with this issue as well as canceled many camping/ hunting trips that were already paid for as I thought I had purchased a safe and working trailer. This has been nothing but a horrible experience and I have yet to hear from camping world on if they are going to do anything to make this right. I am glad they are working on it but frankly I do not feel safe staying in this unit after this issue. Not looking forward to finding out what else they missed on their "inspections" and that I'll have to deal with after this issue is hopefully resolved. You'd think when you spend a hefty amount of money on an rv from a dealer that they would take the time to make sure it's not going to burn down when you take it on your first camping trip with your family. Not to mention upon further investigating I found a 2 foot hole in the wall in the bedroom closet exposing insulation and the outer shell that I was not made aware of at the time of purchase, as well as roof patches on top of the rv that are peeling off. Overall 1 star because It won't let me do 0, but because of the safety hazard of a trailer that they sold to me as a "safe and functioning trailer" which has now caused months of headache which could have been spent relaxing in a comfortable working new rv out by a lake, had i purchased one from a more professional and trustworthy dealer.
