This website used to be great - right around the time when Monster first came out. Yes, that old. This was at the cusp of the digital application revolution, and I much preferred going through Career Builder than filling-out all those extraneously long personality-test laden applications for each individual company I might want to work for. I can tell you that back in the golden age, I used to get contacted by legitimate staffing companies EVERY single time I uploaded an updated resume, and usually by the next day. I knew that after getting off a particular assignment, I could upload my new resume on Friday and have phone calls by Monday.
Well I am sorry to say, those days are long-gone...
Career Builder has gone completely downhill since their website revamp a few years ago. I tried visiting it again just to see what would happen, and this place looks like it's being run by primitive AI from a bad Science Fiction novel. I think I'm going to delete my account after reading some of these other reviews. They changed everything around so now, the site tries to do everything FOR you. After spending a good long while manually entering my work history (which I HATE), I uploaded my resume so employers would have a more comprehensive document to look at. CB took that resume, and OVERWROTE all of my work experience entries! And INCORRECTLY, at that! I now have a warehouse work entry copied over into a senior care entry! My profile makes absolutely no sense now, and everything's screwed-up! And the best part is, it won't let me change it now or save any corrections that I make. But that's ok, because nobody's probably looking anyway - unless you count 'Life Points' and other work-from-home survey scams that want all your information but give you nothing.
I contacted them again tonight about these issues, but expect no response - they never got back to me last time, and back when you were actually able to call them, I even talked to somebody about some of these same problems back then. They apparently never addressed them, and that was several years ago after the 'relaunch.' I asked them in my support message tonight whether anybody was there, or if monkeys have taken-over. I guess it would probably be wiser not to wait around to find out. Thanks for posting, y'all!
Build a time machine, and then go back to how the site was in 2007 and use it there.
