My opinion - Do not bother! Some of the forums are OK for fun and a laugh but not all. -- Men - Generally exaggerate and bullsh*t on their profiles. Women who have profiles and photos, some say they are looking for a partner but are semi-literate, use text speak style writing with poor english and grammar, are time wasting.
Generally a waste of space time and effort. I found only three whom I keep in contact. When my profile was hacked into by someone who sent a message to a female member who forwarded it to a forum which I did not send it contarvbened th site rules so I finally deleted my account.

Sorry to hear so many here had a negative experience. As with most social media sites open to the public, there are always bad eggs looking to stir the pot and be brave on a site, while sitting in the computer chair anonymous. Referring to dating sites, not comment about reviewers here. Also I have had scammers and undesirables contact me on 4 different free sites (dating) that I had used. Personally other than a troublemaker now and then, I see much of many race, religions, and diversity of people in forums. Have made a few long term friends from other countries male and female. Different strokes... I did a review in hopes that someone who is looking for a dating sites is more than just looking to meet singles for romance. I have yet to see a free dating site other than CS that has more to offer. And as equal or more than a few others with forums, where people discuss many subjects and find friendships in forums. If my original posts isn't useful to any others, so be it. Boring world it would be if we all felt and thought exactly the same.

As a dating site it offers up plenty of potential dates, but that all goes to pot once you try contacting others.
Because it's free, there's no effort on the part of members to say anything worthwhile about themselves, 'nothing to see here, move along' would fit like a dream. If you're looking for a partner, go elsewhere, somewhere that's a paid site had a reason to get results, CS is not that site.
Things take an altogether different turn in the forums, this is a bear pit of opinionated site users who use the space to promote their own agendas, some posts are funny and show a sense of humor, some are topical and turn out to be talking shops of ideas, and if truth be told, entertaining at times, then there are the endless political threads, most often by American site users, I never expected to find capitol Hill on a dating site, but there ya go!, and finally, there are the flamers, people who's reason for being in site is to agitate and cause descent, racial disharmony, far right anti semite rhetoric and even hate speech, this behavior goes unchecked by any kind of moderator until way into a discussion, by which time the damage is done.
CS has the potential to be better, with the site rules being adhered to, it's been around a good few years, people come and go, for those who stay, it's a social hub, for those that leave its an experience soon forgotten in terms of having anything real to stay up for.

Most of the men who contacted me were, coincidently, recently widowed and had engineering degrees and were from the USA. They all wanted to remarry and were more concerned with inner rather than outer beauty. Their grammar was poor for university grads and other things about their profiles were suspect. When I asked "is English your first language?", they disappeared. One example is a profile that describes a veterinarian but his message said he had taken a contract with a construction company, it just doesn't add up.

I thought the site wasted a lot of my time and I would not recommend it to friends. I do however like the format for the site and it seemed to have potential which is why I signed on. It's easy to find messages and respond and it doesn't have stupid virtual winks.

I think I am in contact with one seemingly real person and he does seem nice so who knows, maybe something will work out. If not I may try another approach as internet dating sites are frustrating, sifting through bad selfies of men in ugly t shirts.

I have been scammed by this guy supposed to be called Simon Foster and was working in Sweden as a contractor for BP in a 6 months project.

After nearly 3 months of being the most romantic man ever, he came up with money issues, asking for thousands to finish the project so he could come to my town and live here.

He said is a widow, only child and no kids, his wife died of cancer a few years ago.

He has stolen the profile of a man called Hector Duenas, from Miami and Pastor in a christian comunity.

Thank God I didn´t send him any money, I caught him and I sent all the pictures he stole from the other man and he got schocked.

They operate on a different model. They are more genuine and authentic, I'm pretty sure they don't pay their women or at least it's not a typical situation there, because their women don't balk at chatting off the site and having a personal meeting sooner rather than later. But ConnectingSingles is a low value phony site, your maximum result there is a romantic chat with a beautiful picture. That's as far as it goes.
It's a typical con artists' phony site with paid models who are ready to keep you on the chat session forever as long as they get money, talking about any kind of nonsense to entertain you. It's a typical pattern there.

What a waste of time this site is! The profiles of women on this site are obviously written by scam artists who are attempting to phish email address and phone numbers to resell or to try to hack legitimate members' personal information. Avoid ALL profiles which start with "Am" and routinely omit "I". Avoid ALL profiles who include a first and last name as part of the profile. Avoid ALL profiles which are obviously written by someone who has no grasp of the English language. Avoid ALL profiles who give some idiotic description of "occupation" with job descriptions never heard of. Avoid responding to ALL people who routinely ask for personal email address right off the bat. Avoid ALL people who cannot or will not agree to Skype first so that personal information does not have to be exchanged. In short, be prepared to waste a LOT of time dealing with freaking idiots who live in 3rd world countries and misrepresent themselves in these profiles. 9 out of 10 are fake on the women profile side. I have been on the site long enough to accurately state that. Why I don't know!

With all these reviews I have read their not much different to my experience. I was scammed by a female member for $1760and. When you are lonely you believe anything. I paid for her airfare to come to Australia through a fake travel agent. Money I couldn't afford but paid anyway then she wanted $600 for taxi to the airport before I woke up to it being a scam. The photos of her probably weren't even her. I don't understand how people can do this to others. Be very weary of everyone on the site and the site as well. They may have something to do with all these scammers.

Connecting Singles is about 95% scammers and liers! First I Google the pics in each profile and most come up belonging to someone else! And the first thing the ladies want you to do is is go to some weird off site place to chat! And all of them say they wanna move in right away.
And they can't remember which lie they told you. And then you don't here from them for days and most say Oh I was in the hospital sick! That many can't all be in the hospital! Most I message all want money or tickets say their comming to see me after only chatting 3 days! Not many on CS aren't scammers!

This site seems to have collected a lot of emotionally damaged targets for mental diagnoses who have been irreparably scarred by their traumatic experiences (forget about resilience, generosity, good values etc etc). They create their fantastic stories not even them believe. Pretty much ignorance, closed mindedness, judgements and misery. They enjoy interaction among them because most are not even conscious about how pathetic and delusional might sound to others, hence they rejoice in an imaginary feeling of normality which is far away of being real. If you want to have a good time looking at them, here you go, enjoy your soap opera, but never, I MEAN NEVER take anybody there seriously, it´s all an illusion (not even you realize some are traumatized, they want to be that way). It´s not only that you will find unreal/ no genuine people but also no very good looking, particularly women... whom instead of being taking care of themselves in a healthy way, they are drinking, smoking and $#*!ing others online LOL!... ahh but they speak as if they were doctorate, cosmopolitan, sexy & hot, Oh! To lie about age is a MUST lol!. Come on! "CS is one of the best things had ever happened to me" said someone once... is anything more pathetic than that? People have been "dating" there for decades, mmmmm I don´t think so. If dating is bizarre at certain age, it´s a million times worst in CS, it just adds insult to an injury LOL!... Do not waste your time, go somewhere else. Cheers.
