Customer service has a lot to be desired. We have been spending days trying to have our issue resolved with no satisfactory outcome.
If you have another choice for TV service, TAKE IT..
Do not go with Dish Network they have horrible service it starts sprinkling outside and you lose your cable and it takes forever to get it back if it comes back I would not recommend Dish Network to anyone
Called to cancel service. The account holder my father passed away I explained this to them. They then asked to speak with him. WHAT! THEY REALLY ASKED TO SPEAK WITH A DEAD PERSON. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Whenever we have any type of bad weather it will say complete/partial/wearher realted signal or local signal loss for a certain amount of days. Not as reliable as commercial says.
I have been a Dish customer and they took a double payout of my account. No one could help with a refund. I keep hearing I need a credit on my account. No refund just a bunch of I'm sorry
I was moving to the Southeast where there are a lot of trees, from the desert Southwest were there aren't many. I had entered into an agreement with Dish that gave me discounted rates on a number of services as long as I continued to be a customer for at least two years. I agreed so when I moved into my new home I contacted Dish only to be told by the technician who after spending a considerable amount of time outside, announced that he would be unable to install the dish because the profusion of trees were preventing him getting a clear signal. So I asked to be let out of the contract since they couldn't provide the service. Do you know they tried to make me adhere to the contract anyway? The person on the other end of the phone was unreasonable and refused to allow me to talk to a higher up. In the end I had to write a scathing letter to their legal department and was contacted a few days later by someone in that department who told me I would not have to continue with a contract with a supplier who couldn't keep their end of the deal... I will never use Dish again, that's for sure...
Stay away from dish. Poor service. They will rip you off. You don't get what you pay for. They charge you were extra channels that you don't get. Stay away.
I have been with dish for 3.5 years. My contract was a 2 year contract. My son lost the Sim card for the hopper and I called to have a new Sim card replaced. They sent a tech out and replaced the box. Nothong changed on my service what so ever. I signed for the tech saying his job was complete. This was a 1.5 years ago. I just tried to call and cancel and now they are telling me they got me locked into another contract because they came and upgraded my equipment which locked me into another 2 year contract. This was never mentioned ever. I thought the whole time they just replaced the box. After talking to 3 different people trying to cancel the last person as he was about to cancel service goes oh your locked in for 5 more months like the other 2 people acted liked I was good to cancel and the one that tries to get you not to cancel by offering you 5 things finds some way to keep you locked into there bull$#*!. Never have any service on the wireless Joey's. Don't get locked into these bull$#*! companies and there bull$#*! contracts. They will find a way to get you!
We have had dish for years so we got my 79 yr old mother to go with Dish, who had Comcast and constantly having trouble with. Well the hookup person came and added all kinds of things she didnt need. Called my husband and said she had already paid 300$ and got a email she owed 500$ my husband told her not to do nothing he would come on his lunch break.Git on the phone and the installer had installed 30$ HDMI CABLE AND SOUNDBAR AND ADAPTER TO AND SOMETHING CALL A. PEARL CABLE 90$. She said he ask her if sound bar sounded good she said yeah, she said thought it came with it. We have had to call twice today they never sent a box for her to return it. My husband ask to speak to a person in charge on hold never git to speak to anyone. Very disappointed in Dish might have to rethink our business.
I decided to change to Dish network so I could have more channels than what I had with Xfinity. While I do have more channels, I do NOT have the specific channels they assured me I would have. I want to have Washington DC channels and NOT Baltimore local stations. Everyone that I spoke to about it, assured me once I got it installed, just call customer service and they can switch it! Complete LIE! I have tried for several weeks to get this fixed and was pretty much told to purchase an antenna to make it work. I am 91 years old and I feel that it not the best thing for me to do...get up on my roof to install an antenna. Also, I cannot get the remote to work all the time. I have called about this so many times, it's insane. I called to cancel Dish and was told "$450 to cancel". PERIOD! No listening to the problems or that they lied about their product. I will get rid of this product as soon as possible. ONLY positive and the reason to give one star is yes, I do have a lot more channels to watch, but not the local ones I requested and was promised I would get. Two thumbs down DISH! As I said I am 91 years old and would love to have a company not lie to me and take my money
I was told I could pause my service for 6 months to decide if I wanted to continue service because it got to be too expensive for just me and i had not worked for 6 months. I called when the 6 months was almost up to cancel. They convinced me that i could stay on pause. I called a month later to cancel. Again they said you are such a valuable customer and you have so much history with us, why not continue to pause a few more months and maybe you can start your service again? I reluctantly said ok. Can you believe the next day they reactivated my service when my original 6 mos were over and stated in their notes i decided not to reactivate another 6 mos. Such a lie. Now i owe $120 for not one day of service! They said it was my fault, not theirs. The only fault of mine was trusting that they would do what they said they would do. I will never go back to them. They have lied to me twice, and i didnt know it until i got a $242 bill. Now i only get half back. So upset. I would give no rating but i was forced to give at least one star
They are trying to change me for a pay as u go account that they said they were syber attack and my problem what other information was given to them about my account
I called to find out why I was being charged for a peice of equipment that I had returned. The customer service representative was very inexperienced and couldn't answer my questions. I told him that I had other options and that if I couldn't get this resolved that I would cancel my account. He then passed me to Josh who said he was the resolution manager and that I was no longer a customer anymore and my service was being turned off today. I told him that I did not cancel the service and he told me that I had. I decided with the long waiting time to correct problems that I would find a new provider. I asked Josh to leave my service on until the end of the pay period. He said the order was already put in and he couldn't do that. Later on that evening I received an email saying my card was charged 138 dollars for the equipment that has yet to be returned. Dish network is going way down hill with their smug employees who are pushing long term customers away. This is the worst treatment that I have ever received from a large company
I needed to cancel internet service. I only had internet. It wasn't working and I had to go with another provider. I called multiple times and no one would cancel me. I received a bill for the month I had no more service from them. No one I talked with could cancel my service. They said they could only cancel tv service. I talked to 7 different people over several weeks and would be put on hold. My wait times were usually 45 min at least. I was given different numbers to call, was transferred to someone else, etc. No one seemed to be able to cancel my internet.I I tried to get help with support chat on the website. That was a joke. I'm no waiting on hold on 2 different phones - I'm trying 2 different numbers. One was given me by an agent after being on hold 48 min. He said I had to talk to the internet side. He could only cancel TV. The other Number I found on the website. I've been on hold now for over half an hour on both phones. I'm not holding out hope of being able to cancel the internet account. Dish is holding me holding me hostage. I disabled auto pay from my account and will not send them a payment for the bill they sent. I could not recommend Dish to anyone. They make it impossible to cancel internet or get in contact with anyone.
Called DISH 11/14 to cancel service. Talked to Steve and told him I wanted to cancel. I said I thought there was a termination fee as I was on a contract (DISH is the only one that stills enforces that!). He said if I waited until January, I would be able to terminate without a fee. He said he understood that we wanted to try streaming and that DISH did not force people to stay on. I thanked him and said I would call back. The call was recorded. I called back today and was told that not only have I paid $114.65 for two additional months, I would be charged a termination fee of $160.00 for the remainder of my contract if I cancelled. I argued with the person, spoke to a supervisor named Erin to no avail. The rep I talked to on 11/14 left a note that said I agreed to wait until the end of my contract to terminate my account. It would have been a lot cheaper to cancel as of 11/14 for me, but I did not do so based on what he told me. I asked them to review the call but I was told that there was not a person at DISH who could review the phone call. They did not give me any credit, they would not rollback the cancellation to 11/14 and they would charge me the $160.00 plus the balance of my bill plus $20.00 to mail me a box to send back the equipment. I have been a dish customer for a long, long time, but will never go back to DISH again! Beware of what their reps tell you when you call.
I MOVED AND HAD TO CANCEL MY SERVICE. I WAS TOLD I HAVE A CREDIT ON MY ACCOUNT. FOR TWO MONTHS I HAVCE BEEN CALLING THEM AND BEING TOLD THAT THE CREDIT IS GOING TO BE BACK ON MY DEBIT CARD BY A CERTAIN DATE. THEY KEEP CHANGING THE DATE. THEN I WAS TOLD A CHECK WAS CUT TO ME OVER A MONTH AGO. I ASKED TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR AND THE GENTLEMAN TOLD ME NO. THAT THEY WOULD TELL ME THE SAME THING. WHEN I ASKED TO SPEAK TO ONE ANYONE I WAS TOLD AGAIN...NO! THEIR CHAT LINE IS USELESS. I WAS A VERY GOOD CUSTOMER FOR MANY YEARS. TO BE TREATED LIKE THIS IS JUST RIDICULOUS. MY SERVICE WAS ALWAYS BAD, BUT I STUCK WITH THEM DUE TO NOT HAVING THE TIME TO DEAL WITH CHANGING COMPANIES. A MISTAKE I WILL ALWAYS REGRET. THIS COMPANY IS JUST HORRIBLE.
We have been with Dish for well over 10yrs. They used to provide good service and even better customer service. Not anymore. They treat their loyal customers like crap especially if you signed the 24 month commitment to get the lower price on their already overpriced services. Funny you would think if the customers were happy with their service you wouldnt have to bind them to a contract. But that being said we are looking to dump DISH in the next couple weeks. We are actively looking for a better service for the channels we watch. DONT SIGN UP WITH DISH, YOU WILL REGRET IT! KEEP LOOKING THEY HAVE GONE DOWNHILL IN SO MANY WAYS! Buh Bye Dish!
I am so disgusted with dish they required me to download aaps to pay bill online, I have NO NEED of aaps would NEVER use them I have a basic cell phone and never need all the garbage that is on the new phones so Dish tells me if I don't download aap can't pay bill so I just turned it to paying by mail so sick of all the companies and also surveys that since I can't get google chrome on my desktop refuses to let me prove I am human and it is the pits I have to leave home to pay AT&T but so far they have not blocked me using google chrome at library since I switched dish to mail have not the option and nit sure if they would allow anyway so that is my rant about the aap crap sorry but some folks still just have basic needs
Answer: Because it sounds great to have 1200 channels even if 1195 channels are nothing but infomercials, most people like me think wow I will have so many movies to watch I might have to record 5 while I watch 1 but after you get your 1200 channels you realize most every movie you would like to see can only be viewed if you pay an extra rental fee, another huge disadvantage to satellite tv is the frequency of commercials and the time the commercials are shown, regular tv used to be a 2 minute commercial break, dish network and directv have over 5 minute commercial breaks
