Everything with dstv is just wrong I am Kenyan and is like I pay to to be punished by Nigerian channels. That means I watch half of the channels provided in the package which is also "termed as" {MONEY WASTAGE}. I should be watching something I understand and worth paying for.
SOLUTION; look for a better service provider.
I was contacted regarding an upgrade and request time to review the offer for 2 day's. I did'nt recieve the callback and requested (4) four times a callback with NO response. I had to phone in myself on my cost to do the upgrade. I enqiured regarding the 220gb data offer that goes with the package and was informed that i will reciece a call to look into the matter within 24 to 48 hrs. Still NOTHING. No i can see why dstv is loosing millions due to POOR service. It's a pitty i went for this upgrade
Dstv downgraded my package without any communication. Now there are more costs involved to have my package back on Premium, this is unacceptable to change a contract without authorisation
Threatening sms recd 5.04 despite pmt been recd by yourselves vide mthly debit order being processing by yourselves & met. Have now reqd formal letter of apology three times and the last being when manager phoned on 11th instant to apologise. Despite his assurances that same will be emailed & confirmed correct email address held NOTHING has been forthcoming. If a member of management can't keep his promise you can't expect the client to have confidence in your service. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! DSTV obviously don't need our business!
I have repeatedly gone through incorrect accounting entries
With different consultants at DSTV in the last few weeks, with no understanding

Overlapping dates resulting in double charges & decoders being switched on
& charged for that have not worked for years. This must border on fraud. I used to be on a debit order system to pay
My account, but due to the overcharges on my account I cancelled the debit
Order & refuse to pay anymore until issues resolved. Due to non payment on my part, my service has
Now been suspended. I am now embarassed
Because i cannot give DSTV to guests i have in my guest house. Their service is less than good & their
Willingness to resolve issues is nil. I
Have been a client for 20 plus years & have had issues before that i have
Reported without resolution. This is now
Enough. It is easier to go without DSTV
Than to have this perpetual fight so have cancelled my account with them.
Thats correct. Satellite tv for chimps! Seriously this service is expensive and makes the mom and pop cable offerings in the USA look like the academy awards.
LOTS & LOTS and lots more re runs. The company denies this but its possible to see nothing new on the service the whole evening. Just reruns of programs they played a year before! South africa is a $h1t hole country where monopoly company's get away with murder. Dstv has NO competition at all. Nothing! So they do what they like. I hope broad band tv comes soon so operators like this company go out of business. The company is headed by Koos Beckker a clever business man but thats where the cleverness ends. He is south africas richest us$ billionaire who also owns 32% of tencent the chinese internet company.
Dstv is crap. The only good thing is the news services like bbc, cnn and sky. South africas sabc news is blatant marxist propaganda so dstv provides relief from this but at a cost.
Their live sport is ok if thats your thing. They have a monopoly attitude of take it or leave it. No bundle offerings like chose five channels etc just subscribe to all 80 channels or piss off!
Did I mention that dstv really is crap.
I had an absolutely frustrating experience with DSTV Streaming. I purchased a package to watch the Qatar World Cup specifically, but three out of five times I opened streaming both the website and the app were down for the whole duration of the first period! The one thing that I bought the subscription for was not there! I then gave up on DSTV and watched football elsewhere.
Additionally, when I tried to cancel the subscription at least two times in the next two months, the website was either down or buggy and would say that I need to wait and try again later.
When I finally managed to reach out to the help center (admittedly, two months later - because I didn't have time to deal with that before), I got help with canceling my subscription. However, I was refused a refund because "there was no record in the system that I wasn't using the service" when I literally used it only a few times in December and opened it twice or three times in January and February only to try to cancel it.
Overall, it's a complete waste of both money and, most importantly, time.
This company is giving terrible service and they a a gangstalking business. I paid my subscription but am told I didn't pay
