Duck Duck go tracks what you search. I have searched multiple items from cars to eczema to products that I am interested in buying/ researching. It all shows up in my FB account. If it wasn't tracking my phone then it wouldn't show up on FB. It's just another scam like everything else.

GoogleGoogleGo
August 9, 2019

This is not a way to escape Google, searches on DuckDuckGo will still influence Google suggestions. Despite claiming "no tracking" they still create multiple cookies and while they may not store the data on their own database servers (which is unlikely but would allow them to defend their claim in court) they are certainly selling or giving access to Google. This is the world we live in, the only way to deny Alphabet and the alphabet soup they service (NSA, CIA, FBI etc...) is to not use the internet.

Advertised and recommended the scam site viagogo when I searched for tickets.

Most Improved
July 30, 2019

I tried Duck Duck Go when it first came out and didn't like. I stopped using it. I got sick of Google search when the search answers stood up for the liberals. I would think of something but couldn't remember the details I would google it. If it showed a liberal in a bad light, they would simply not answer it. IF YOU WANT TO SEARCH SOMETHING, GO TO DUCK DUCK GO! It is a great seach engine and will give you ALL the answers; the good, the bad & the ugly for all parties involved. I love it!

I have a new HP PC and it was so slow. I used computers for 15 years doing civil design work so I believe I can say I know a bit about them but not a lot. Brought this new pc and could not believe how slow it was, I recently revisited the Harvey Norman store where I purchased the PC from and just in conversation with the salesman who sold me this pc I bought up the fact that the PC was terribly slow, his replay about the slow speed was "you get what you pay for". Well I now know different after removing Microsoft Office and shutting down what ever I could of Microsoft software and using Duckduckgo' I am now happy with the speed of the PC. Hmmmmm Duckduckgo what are you doing to the corporate world you cant be honest!

Like most people, I've long used google. But google starts to get downright offensive when I look up say a 20" pink bicycle for my niece on my phone, then my phone starts popping up ads for all these 20" pink bicycles on every site I visit on my work computer. Or when google prompts me (when location tracking is OFF) to write a review for the burger & beer joint I stopped at last month, and the clothing store I entered, so forth and so on. No thank you!
Enter duckduckgo -- an alternate search engine. Simple. Gives me the results I want without all the ridiculous tracking I don't. They don't track search history, just give the search results. Isn't that what a search engine is supposed to do?! I've been using it for 6+ months without any issues at all. Highly recommend.

DuckDuckGo has been my "go to" search engine since Googles' political demise. Silencing conservative views, labeling commentators as nazis, etc. But even if you aren't into the whole political world it's a safe browser! As it even says in the title it does not track you or your data. Its fast, unbiased, and anonymous. DuckDuckGo is the right choice for anyone. (This isn't sponsored and I do not work or have any affiliation with DuckDuckGo it's just a good Browser)

Scammed me
June 30, 2019

This search engined scammed me. Everything was completely fine with google, but then duck duck go hacked into my computer. After that, everything moved as slow as molasses. Then, to my horror, duck duck go somehow hacked into my instagram account, sending everybody I know inappropriate messages. Please get this garbage thing off my computer. It is impossible to get off and I'm so disgusted at this site. I could literally write a ten page paper on how much this site is a scam, but I literally have to fix the mess they've created

Privacy. PERIOD!
June 23, 2019

Research and read up on it - the best anti- Google vehicle out there! I used it for 3+ years on an Android Note and then switched to Apple 8S about 6 months ago (BEST move I ever made in phone land!) and its all been seamless. If you truly want to be as private and untracked as possible, this is the way!

Previously I was more critical on duckduckgo but I am converting my opinion.

Their search function may not be as good as google but then they are not also compiling a database of everything you do on-line and then further sharing it with other organizations (including the government) behind your back. Our best hope is that we support this tool so that they can hopefully continue to improve it and to provide a counterbalance to organizations that are not interested in maintaining real user privacy.

For those interested in knowing more about this issue I recommend the following podcast:

Went to try out DuckDuckGo and on my very 1st practice test search it gave me results for a trojen website. The kind that locks up your browser and tries to hold you hostage. That's enough for me... too dangerous. I guess google filters these sites out because I just don't have those problems when I use it.

I can comment on my looking at getting the app. When I was about to install the duckduckgo app it wanted to be installed to chrome. When I left the article that linked me to the app, and trying another way, every way was connected to Google. You get the app from Google store. They have a youtube video. Regardless of what they are trying to portray about how our privacy is protected using their service and how it's not by using Google. Well I am not real tech savvy so it is possible that I could be wrong but I can't help but think they are connected to Google. I've added 8 screenshots...

Search any of the 2020 democratic presidential contenders. You will notice that you only have to type the first name and at most three characters of the last name and the auto suggestions will show the persons name. All but one who is gay. Other search engines suggest his name with just his first name.

I have used DDG for 4 months without finding any major snags in its operation. It is a little annoying that you have to disable the two DDG pop-up ads on all of your machines individually - and it took me a little while to work out how to do it.
I use DDG on an IMac Latest OS), my browser is Safari. I had a minor problem and contacted DDG support only to be told "We do not support Apple Macs". Ridiculous!
Sorry guys, but that is the end of my brief flirtation with DDG...

Whether it's a negative or positive review, I'm just sick and tired of these whiny Trump Supporters crying out censorship. I see enough of this crap everywhere else. Why bring DuckDuckGo into your Trump d***riding? What the $#*! does this search engine have to do with politics? White people get on my nerves lmao. Also, 3 stars because I can't seem to change the search filter from strict to off. It keeps reverting and I don't get it. Why can't I choose what I want?
Anyway, you guys can't stop anyone from criticizing trump. It's time you get over that $#*! and grow up. Y'all need to learn how to read and educated yourselves on what the First Amendment is ACTUALLY about. If you think climate change is a hoax, then y'all are the perfect example residents from other countries need, to prove that Americans are $#*!ed.
Sigh... this country is beyond doomed...

When I searched for "quality facts the indisputable facts about racial equality, although outnumbered 9 to 1" DuckDuckGo had the website I was looking for at the top of the search results. I couldn't find the website I was looking for at google or startpage
The website at the top of the DuckDuckGo search results wasn't harmful this time (according to Norton). Below is the website I was looking for. By the way, after reviewing the website (below) some links (that the claims are based on) no longer exist.
https://funnyjunk.com/Equality+fact+time/funny-pictures/*******/

I clicked on the 1st website at the top of the search results then I clicked on a link in the website and I got a message that all the files on my computer were locked; I could only delete the message by hitting ctrl alt Delete and then ending chrome. The search was for "When was the last time Ruth Bader Ginsburg was seen". The 1st website at the top of the search results was jowforums. Com/thread/*******/politics/when-was-the-last-time-ruth-bader-ginsburg-was. Html
Norton safe search works with google.com, Norton safe search doesn't work with duckduckgo.com
https://duckduckgo.com/?q=the+last+time+ginsburg+was+seen&t=hw&ia=web
When was the last time Ruth Bader Ginsburg was seen... Search domain jowforums. Com/thread/*******/politics/when-was-the-last-time-ruth-bader-ginsburg-was. Htmlhttps :// jowforums. Com/thread/*******/politics/when-was-the-last-time-ruth-bader-ginsburg-was. Html When was the last time Ruth Bader Ginsburg was seen?

One of the worst search engines for searching... doesn't know Queen's English, so it's worthless outside America. And seeing it's American it's as thick as present "President".

I have been kind giving it one star, very kind & very covfefe.

What is the difference between Bing and DDG?
They both filter out most of the independent views
And websites that ARE not mainstream.

They will soon be bought & paid for.

Read the story of Randolph Hearst and learn what
Happens when you don't sell to the 'Big dogs'.

They will get eaten alive.

Although it appears I am using the duckduckgo web site on my local computer, I can still see the previous users Facebook account still logged in. In addition, the game I play Farmerama.com has several names of previous uses on the account, and these did not even sign in on the same day. The library used to delete this information on a daily basis, but now using Duckduckgo, they don't seem to be doing so. The Duckduckgo site comes up when you put a Chrome icon, and the library is using duckduckgo as the default. If you have a contract with Chrome, something regarding privacy isn't right. I don't know why you would trust a Google browser anyway, since you have things written by your executives saying they are not trustworthy when it comes to privacy. I can't send you a like because the library won't allow me to save screen shot, or any other file to the computer. The library is the Alexandria, LA *******.

When I submitted a complaint it sent my complaint to a totally unrelated web site. I sent them the following message.

The duckduckgo sent me to this site because I had previously clicked on something about Quora and duckduckgo. It redirected the email to that site. Duckduckgo says they are easy to contact, but apparently not so.
