Purchased an Emtek front door lock from my local hardware store. When it arrived the installer came to put it in, however, he was having problems getting it to fit. He took the two latches back to the hardware store and when measured saw that Emtek had sent the wrong size. The order was correct, but they shipped a smaller size than requested.
Since it was 100% Emteks fault I requested compensation for the extra expense I would incur for the installers extra visits and time. The customer service dept merely sent me warranty information and denied my request. This had nothing to do with the warranty. It was their obvious mistake for which they did not take responsibility. This is an untrustworthy company and I would never purchase their products again.
I bought a shiny Emtek Digital Deadbolt model E3020 from Ganahl Lumber in Buena Park for about $400.00. Six months ago, after 2 1/2 year of service, the electronic stop working. Called Emtek, and they promptly replace the unit with "a new one". The new stopped working after 4 months. Called Emtek, they said the unit is not in warranty and I need to buy another deadbolt. The new unit was a returned unit and not a new one.

Easy-but the program is hard. Never has the product number that I am trying to enter. I just order my stuff through email and it works wonders. Also, I've had great customer service with those who work there.
We received an electronic deadbolt that was brand new. Put it on the customers door and it was faulty.
Customer didn't want another Emtek lock and decided to go with a different brand. I'm not happy wasting our and our customers time.
We purchased over 30 door hardware sets of various designs and styles for our home. Most of them are falling apart after about 6 months. The manner in which the knob attaches is one of the worst designs I have seen. There is a very small allen screw that simply will not hold the knob on. All of them are falling off. We wasted thousands of dollars on this garbage.
Every thime I call with a question or issue, their customer service staff is always knowledgable and polite people to talk to, they know their stuff and are kind and patient with my lack of knowledge. With every enteraction I come out better edcuated with my knowledge of the company and hardware in general.
As always the tech dept was very helpful with advice, They did not recommend the large plates for this
multipoint door, but the builder said he can make it work.
The other item on the order was replaced with the E-lock version of it, so nothing to report yet as nothing is installed.
