I'm pretty leery of used car dealers/wholesalers as a whole but found Evo Motors through the car buying service of our insurance company so decided to give them a look. We were looking for a car that would fit a 6'5" driver with size 17 shoes, so there are lots of vehicles out there that flat out don't work. After spending a day at a national used car dealer who didn't seem real enthused with helping us out, we had managed to find some makes/models that would work.
This misadventure led us to the insurance company car buying service to check out local pricing on models that would work. Evo Motors kept popping up and pricing on models we were interested in was good, so we reserved a couple cars we liked online and went there to check them out.
Upon arriving it was apparent that they have a huge inventory but the vehicles are pretty much packed in so you can't really walk the lot to check things out. This really wasn't an issue though because they had plenty of people available to move cars around and get the one(s) we were interested in out for us. Again we spent some time doing fit tests because we were finding that trim levels on some makes/models made a difference. Big thing we found was that we had to have tilt/telescoping steering wheel and power seats, but I digress. We were eventually able to get narrowed down to a specific make/model. After that it was easy to navigate their site on our phone and find specific vehicles in our price range and do a test drive on one of them.
Evo is a no haggle price company, price on their site is the price you pay period, but they were consistently several thousand under what others were charging for the same make/model. Most, if not all, their vehicles are coming off lease so they have been well maintained and have gone through an extensive inspection before being put up for sale. A vehicle history report is available for all cars.
In the end we ended up purchasing a 3yr old vehicle from Evo. Ended up using their financing because it came in a few points under other loans we had already been approved for. Completed their loan application from their site while at home and there were no issues with completing it. The car we purchased was not the one we had test driven, so they set up another test drive. Since we had been preapproved for financing the paperwork process was pretty quick. After test drive car went in for delivery prep while we did the paperwork and by the time we were done the car was out front waiting for us to drive away.
Entire process in dealing with Evo Motors was very positive, employees were very responsive to helping you out and I'd definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a quality late model used car. Only thing that surprised me was that they didn't at least put 1/4 tank of gas in the car before delivery. Had to immediately stop at gas station to fill up the tank; but then again I never asked them to put some fuel in the tank, just sort of assumed they would. My bad!
