“Gift card mall scam”

I receive a gift card for appreciation. I try to register it and it said error. Then I call it gave me the total amount. As soon I try to use it declined. Call customer service was a waste of time. Never received it back. They keep trying for me to give them my address and other unnecessary information. When I keep telling them it was a gift.

To a close family friend who is a congressman and to my uncle who is a federal judge. They stole from me. This is a predatory company and needs to be shut down. I suggest that everyone who has this experience report it to their congressperson. They can shut it down. There can also be a class action lawsuit. They make multiple million of dollars in lost funds every year. It is crap

I placed an order on line on December 17,2020 to Gift Card Mall in hopes it would arrive before Christmas as a gift. Not only did it not arrive prior to Christmas, by January 1 it had still not arrived. I called the company on January 2,2021, there were excuses about the mail, and I was told to call again on January 6 if it had not arrived. I did not make that call. The card did arrive on January 11, twenty-five days after ordering it on line. I would question a business using that outlet as a means for gift cards, and I doubt I will use it again.

Tip for consumers:
The average time it takes for a person to receive the gift card from the time it is ordered.

I have called and emailed the company several times regarding a fraudulent card they had sold me. It had already been used in Hawaii, which I did not go to. It was for Panda Express and they told me Panda was responsible. It didn't make sense, it was giftcard mall who sold me the ecard, which had never left my office. They would not reimburse me so I am out $25, and also had to pay for the food at Panda Express since it didn't work there. I am really angered and feel so ripped off by this company. Don't buy cards from them, there is either a glitche in their online system or they are purposely selling gift cards that are already used. There is probably in house theft, but they don't want to reimburse the customers who have been ripped off.

I purchased a $200 target gift card from giftcard mall through eBay. The card I received was invalid and they insisted that they sent another card which has $200 on it. Chances are that the card was stolen before it was delivered as I found out the packing slip was actually printed as a black and white GoWallet logo but with correct tracking and order information. Normally the logo should be in color ink. Be careful with purchase from giftcard mall. You may end up with getting nothing.

Don't believe they don't expire, because they clearly do. Gift card mall aka Blackhawk Netwrok customer service is clueless and useless. Metabank, another awful useless company, issues their visa gift cards, zeroed out hundreds of dollars from my cards. They both wasted weeks of my time with misinformation and the ordeal of contacting the authorities to recover my funds. Don't give this terrible predatory company your money. I will never buy another product from Gift card mall aka Blackhawk aka Metabank. Shout out to Carlos R. Cardholder Support Services for being utterly incompetent.

My purchase was denied and customer service was not able to give me a reason. The charge is still on my credit card and I was told to call my bank to dispute. The company feels like a scam to me. Would not do business with them again!

Bought month ago, called 3 times to aware, they continued to tell me that they have 14 business days to deliver, finally after one month they cannot find my order, and promised to issue refund in 14 days, unbelievable!

I received 2 gift cards for Christmas. Both were from giftcardmall.
I activated them and went to use within the week of activation and there was no money on them except a penny on each. I called Giftcard mall and they were useless other than to tell me that they were used and where they were used. They did not offer to compensate. Informed me I had to fill out a form and i had to go the website and download then send in etc. I called the company where they were used and they were great. They researched and put the money back on the card for me. I will always make sure to see where gift cards are from if I purchase in the future, Never Purchase from GIFTCARDMALL!

Card I had with me in New Mexico was used at the same time in Arkansas and customer service for giftcradmall/Blackhawk told me their hands were washed and I need to get a refund from whomever i bought the card from, Amazon. Hahaha. What a joke. Buyer beware!

I purchased a target gift card for electronic delivery as a gift for a graduation party (that I was unable to attend). I received a confirmation via email that I had purchased and that it would be delivered via email on the desired date. However, before the card was received, the gift card was cancelled with no notice to me and with no explanation as to why. So while I thought the recipient got my gift, the gift card was never received. Now, after several apologies to the recipient and many searches for the email by us both, I must get a new gift that will be weeks late. I do NOT recommend this company!

I ordered a gift card from this website. I never received it. Possibly it was due to getting lost in the mail, but it was activated the same day as it was supposedly sent out. Finally, the problem got resolved (I got my money back), but I would not buy from this company again. It was too difficult to get a resolution to the problem.

I got a card for my Christmas bonus. Checked my balance online and someone from this company took the money. Called customer service and they schedule a call back. I'm sure they are blowing me off. Probably the same person who took my money. I wouldn't use this company or website again

I wish I had read the reviews here before making my purchase.
A day after I placed my order, I get a email saying that unless I call them at a certain number my order will not go through.
So I call and is put on hold for FOREVER. I try a different number and I get an associate.
He asks me close to 20 questions. Things like "where were you when the order was placed" "what's the cross street of your billing address"
After I answer everything, I ask the guy why I have to answer all these questions. And he said that my order was caught on a security check. So I ask if I would have to go through this again for further purchases and he says "I can't guarantee"
And after finishing ALL the questions, I ask if my order is now going to go through and he says "I can't guarantee."
This site is definitely a scam. It needs to be reported.

This company is a total Scam. I waited over 2 weeks to recieve the card and it never came. Their advise: just give it a few more days---- what shipping method do you know that takes weeks to arrive with in the continental US. This company is a SCAM.

I was going to purchase a gift card as a thank you to a client and wanted to include a personal message so they would know who sent it and why. A rep at the 800# said there was a field at checkout yet I could not find one. I then tried the "chat" feature and was then told that is not a feature hat is offered. I explained that I didn't want the message printed on the card, just a text note included with the card or on the shipping label just as other businesses do. I was once again told no, only if I choose ecard option. I chose not to buy. Not too impressive for a client to receive a gift and not know why.

Purchased a gift card for my mom five days ago. Call them to have them resend it twice and verified all the information is correct. All they will do now is tell me that they could refund it or send it to the same email. They tell me that refund could take up to 30 days. What a load of crap. So much for a nice gift for my mom. They won't even email me the gift card to me when I purchased it so I can forward it to my Mom. No one in the call center can do anything but see and see if it's been processed. They don't process in house.

I ordered a (egift)card on a whim in a hurry from here. It did not send at the next day i received a message stating "Unfortunately, your order could not be processed as we were unable to verify some of the information provided." As my bank had been charged I called the main line and talked to a woman who told me she couldn't help but she would have someone on the next level call me to resolve it within the next 2-3 business days. I received a call 2 hours later and the lady offered to send a new card or refund my money. I asked for my money back and it was refunded to my bank. I was really panicked after reading the reviews on here, however they took care of everything promptly and i did receive a full refund within 24 hours.

Horrible service. They rejected my order, but no one could give me a reason why. I have never had an order rejected and was terribly offended. I told the representative that I wouldn't hang up until someone explained the reason for the rejection, but all 3 levels of service could say was that "the system rejected the order and no one in the company could tell me why." The representative hung up on me after 3 warnings, ha!

This company is a ripoff. Their card came much later than I expected (over 2 weeks), and it was scuffed and poorly laminated. Secondly, they never sent me the activation code so I couldn't use the card immediately anyway. I think this is intentional so they can sit on my money and make more interest.

DO NOT EVER BUY A SAFEWAY GIFT CARD- EVER. I went to the Safeway website and bought one from their linked store of giftcardmall.com. It was a gift for someone. The person took it to the store and it did not work. Manager blamed the gift card company. Spent hour on phone with giftcard mall. They blamed the store. Spent 2 more hours and several trips to store and store is still blaming giftcard mall. I finally called giftcard mall and said I want a full refund since you are all just passing the buck and nobody wants to solve the problem. They refunded the money (only thing someone could manage to do correctly). If you're buying online, you would think that by going to the safeway website for a safeway card is the BEST way to go... but obviously there is NO relationship between these 2 entities to assist the actual customer!

The gift card I ordered never arrived. I eventually gave up and cancelled the order. I was told the refund would take "one to fifteen business days". After fifteen business days, no refund appeared. Phoned again. Was told they were busy due to it being a holiday and that I would have to wait another one to fifteen business days for my refund. Horrible horrible horrible!

Unable to register card online although I can check balance by phone. No way to get help from an actual person whrn I call. I also noticed they commented under peoples reviews only to give them the same USELESS number I called that was unable to put a real person on the line

I tried to give my niece an egift card. But when she got the link, she couldn't redeem it. I called customer service and they claim that 'they're having trouble with this type of gift card, and the transaction keeps failing'. They recommended that I request a refund and try something else. I requested the refund, but after two phone calls it still hasn't been applied to my credit card. So it seems both my niece AND I are left empty-handed.

Recently purchased a card. Could not register it on their mcgift.giftcardmall.com site.
Called 3 different "customer service" numbers.
All automated and claiming the card is "not in their records".
Do not trust anything from Pathward/Metabank or Blackhawk. They're nothing more than con artists.

Tip for consumers:
The Google reviews regarding Blackhawk/Pathward/Metabank are horrendous.

There was a time when gift cards were reliable.
Not anymore.

I purchased 3 - $100 Safeway cards on 5/12/16 and still cannot get them activated. I have called 5 times and they keep saying that they have escalated it to their 2nd Tier. This just goes on and on and so embarrassing as I sent them as gift cards to family members out of town.
