I was looking for an English Bulldog, which can be a challenge. Good Dog vetted breeders so I didn't have to worry about a potential scam. They also followed up during the process and provided useful articles for bringing home a puppy. Overall, great experience.
I contacted a couple of breeders on GoodDog.com and one of them was KZAAM Golden Retriever (Patty Byler). Since we have had 7 Golden Retrievers before I am trained in how to select a puppy. You always look at the parents to see how they are. You would be surprised at what you will find out there with breeders that are not very good. So, I always ask the Breeder to provide pictures of the male and female parents. I require a picture of the dogs in the standing position with one pic of the side view and one of the front. Looking at both parents like this will give you a good idea on what the pup will look like when they are an adult. There is nothing like seeing both parents for yourselves. This way you can see the disposition of the dame/sire. If this is not possible, go with the pictures. This method of selecting a pup has always given us great Golden Retrievers that look like the Goldens they use on TV. When I insisted Patty to provide these pictures she finally said that she was not good with letting us have one of her pups. My response to her was, without the pics we would not purchase a pup from her. Just thought anyone looking for a purebred dog should know this before looking for a purebred pup.
Wonderful Breeder, healthy clean pups, met me so I didn't need to drive all the way north saving time they pup needed to be in the car. We would get another dog from her in a heartbeat!
I chose Good Dog after I had a puppy scam, there were no puppies they just wanted to cheat me out of money.
Don't go through this company or breeders they vetted. I got a very sick 2lb dog the breeder has giardia in her environment my vet Says so. My puppy almost died. I never recieved my 1 year health guarantee or my akc papers. Good dog won't help you! Go to your vet and find a trustworthy breeder!
I purchased Bentley October 1,2022. He has such a beautiful personality & loving & affectionate puppy. His mom passed away after giving birth to him. Third of a litter of 3. The breeder OMG what a spectacular job Debi Lynn did. I call her the breeder extraordinaire. It was so evident of her love and care for the puppies. When I purchased Bentley, he was 3 months, old and train. I didn't have to do very much in regard to training him. I just picked up where she left off. We love our little boy. Thank you Debi. We live you!
Caught a puppy mill red handed with sick dogs, showed them the evidence. They just kept making excuses, even after multiple people reported them. What a scam, just another puppy broker trying to make money. Research the breed you want and ask questions to find a reputable breeder yourself. This website is a joke. Do better.

I can't believe that good dog would even say the have trusted and has protector stories. They allow breeders to rip off the people who are purchasing dogs from them. The buyers are not protected. They allowed a breeder to scam me.

As they clarified with you, in accordance with the breeder's contract, the deposit you completed was non-refundable, although we’re happy to hear that the breeder did agree to refund your other payments.
At Good Dog, each breeder sets their own individual policies with buyers, especially around whether a payment is refundable or non-refundable. We encourage puppy buyers to choose a breeder whose policies align with what they feel most comfortable with, because we do honor the policies that a breeder and buyer agree to.

I am reviewing my puppy purchase so some of your questions do not make sense.
Recently Copper Top Aussies in Florida allowed us to adopt one of their beautiful Aussie pups. We found the breeder very accommodating to our schedule, and very helpful in all matters. All of her adult dogs, and the puppies were well cared for, friendly, and healthy looking. That was important to us.
When we need to adopt another Aussie, we will be certain to contact Maggie again.

Was very easy to find what I wanted, and in close proximity to me. It saved me hours of searching for my new pup and very informative.
Like others have noted, I've had issues with the fees. If you use credit card (which most people will, protection-wise), you're charged a 3% processing fee. However, this is against state law where I am (Massachusetts), where the law states that no seller in any sales transaction may impose a surcharge for someone electing to pay via card instead of ACH/etc.
Purchasing an expensive pup is should be streamline.
Their site has error messages when I try to connect with breeder after initial intro email.
Going on all week and no response to emails.

Good Dog is a necessary resource, a result of people cheating other people. Rock Springs Pugs, owned by Michael Booker, is a very reliable, honest, responsible breeder. Michael has a great personality, loves his dogs, more importantly, he is knows his breed lines. Michael follows his puppies to insure that all is well with them. He wants you to stay in touch, keeping him informed. He has DNA research to ensure that they are healthy.
I have confidence in Michael's breeding operation. Early March we purchased a male puppy from Michael for our son. A week later, we drove 18 hours back to Alabama and got a second one for ourselves. Da-ha, I knew when we got the first one...

I'm a fairly new member of GoodDog.com but from what I can tell they are really here for the breeders and buyers. From start to finish! They give discounts on our health testing up to $100. Per year, have great attorneys to help negotiate puppies going to new homes with legal contracts and make the whole process so much simpler to deal with. I breed for myself so, having homes already lined up for the one or two babies that need a loving forever lap this place helps me have them in place and waiting when the time comes. Waldo German Shepherds in Allen NB, are excellent breeders. Small operation, and they produce some fantastic, quality dogs. I received our Onyx two years ago. She is wonderful. Missa and Bob Waldo take excellent care of the puppies and do a lot of testing with them. They take a lot of time to correctly match the puppy with the potential owner. I highly recommend them.
I'm grateful to find someone who is as passionate about having a great hunting companion as I am because it has been over 20 years that I lost my black lab and brother who was an avid hunter and angler.

I love dogs! But sometimes working with breeders can be, well-very impersonal. Maybe I just got lucky, but finding the right breeder was easy and has been the best experience ever. Pick your breeder, pick your puppy, and start communicating. Brew House Puppies answered every question I asked, sent my pictures, and chatted about pups in general. They fell like old friends.
The process is so simple here. Pick your puppy, pay the down payment, and that baby is yours. So fun. Get messages back and forth on the same web pages, arrange for pick up and watch your puppy grow. Pay right on the we site. Yes, you pay a little extra, but you are going to get your puppy and not get ripped off.
I found Good Dog via a Google Search and immediately felt like it was the best idea ever. You do pay a little more for the purchase of your puppy this way, but you can pay via credit card and know you can get your money back if something goes wrong.
Good dog is a great way to find the perfect puppy. Even my vet used good dog to get her new golden retriever puppy, she and I like the third party involvement. I was worried about scammers but with this site it eases your mind and you know you have a healthy puppy and a awesome breeder
I joined as a breeder. Was fine for awhile until a competitor complained, trying to get me kicked off of the site, they messaged me asking for proof of health testing, inspections. Pictures. I sent everything they asked for but still deleted my account, they do not check out complaints good enough before they just delete everything you have done

Caroline Lee is the absolute best breeder on here. I loved my experience with her. She is straightforward, pleasant and down to earth. She's willing to work with you, meet you and help you pick out puppy supplies. What else can I say. I purchased a Pom pup, she met me and helped me shop for the perfect pup harness. I love good dog and the steps it takes to purchase. My boyfriend wants a pup for his mom and we will definitely be working with grace pups again.
Good dog was a safe place to purchase with ease. Very straightforward and easy. Will purchase again for sure. I usually am skeptical about buying online from a new site. But this site was perfect.
At first this site helped us breeders, but lately Good Dog hasn't been helping. I know the market is stalling after the pandemic. But making it so the buyers can only pay through good dog when they don't want to is hurting us. I'm thinking of pulling my account.
Because I thought this would give me a venue that would promote ethical breeders and purebred dogs. I was wrong once I learned they let doodles in also.

We completely understand that you might have a different way of doing things with non-Good Dog applicants, and that’s ok - this policy only applies to applicants who apply to your program through Good Dog!
In case helpful, we also want to share that we do make sure all Good Dog applicants are aware of our Policy. When Good Dog applicants submit their application to a Good Breeder, they agree to abide by our Policy before submitting their application.
