Not to discount anyone else's experience, but I have ordered well over 10 items just over the last several weeks and have had nothing but a positive experience every time. Two items that were damaged upon arrival I submitted pictures of and was refunded wholly within 24 hours, they have also honored price adjustments. To be honest, sometimes the customer is not 100% right so I would take any negative reviews with a grain of salt.
Purchased 8 outdoor rugs June 2019. We bring them indoors for storage from November to April. After two years they are all needing to be replaced. The color comes off and the corners fray and fade. Outside of one year warranty so Grandin Road basically said too bad.
Ordered bulk outdoor table &chairs a month ago and they all cracked. They won't furnish new items as they are out of stock. Will never order from them again. Expensive stuff with poor quality

Grandin Road charged me over $800 in shipping fees for furniture that I either canceled before it was shipped (2 pieces) or returned due to damage. The quality of the furniture is horrible and their shipping fees are outrageous. The communication system between the furniture company and the shipping company doesn't work. I called three times to cancel two items and still got notices to set up an appointment for delivery. I would give 0 stars if I could. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY unless you want to overpay for shipping of low quality furniture.

This company is horrible. Foolish me I only read the reviews that were on the product I wanted to buy, so that's my fault for not doing proper research. I was looking forward to some wall decor that I purchased, only after it was on sale, because the price was a bit steep. I get the product and it's quite nice, BUT there's a warning sign on it stating it contains toxic chemicals that can cause cancer and lead to birth defects. I'm sorry, WHAT!? I would've never purchased this from them had this been disclosed somewhere in the description or in a disclaimer. I've submitted a review twice for my disappointment, and both have been denied, so they're misleading customers and not printing bad reviews. I also put in an email request to have someone contact me because I don't feel I should have to pay the outrageous return shipping fee when I wouldn't have bought this product from the beginning had they been honest about it... and of course no one has gotten back to me. DO NOT buy from this horrible company! They clearly don't care about their customers at all, and are just in it to make money. If I could give this company 0 stars, I would.

Grandinroad has lost my business! I used to love getting their catalog and watching for certain items to go on sale. I recently purchased a dining room table, I got a great deal so I was really excited. After waiting for over a month, when it was being delivered, the delivery man and I noticed at the same time, the box was way too big to be a table. It was a huge cabinet. After refusing delivery, I called customer service. The rep placed a new order but left me hanging. She didn't offer any details of what was going to happen. I had to ask all the questions. Whatever, skip ahead 2 weeks and now I am seeing on the delivery company's website that the item that was sent out for replacement weighs 383 lbs. My table is only 150 lbs so I believe they sent me the wrong item again. Not only have I had to take days off of work for delivery, I have been charged for the table despite not having it. Customer service is a joke and doesn't seem to be very competent. I have emailed service to have them investigate the current shipment to see if they did indeed send the wrong item again. I am not wasting more time with this company. I also will no longer be doing business with any of their companies; Ballard Designs, Zulily, Frontgate to name a few.

I placed an order for a fountain and a rug on 3/27. I experienced what others have said - they show one price, but then if you apply the free shipping they offer, the price goes up in your shopping cart. I wanted the fountain so I went ahead and ordered it anyhow. It just arrived today, 5/17. The bottom of the box was open when it was delivered. I unpacked it and one of the decorative birds on the fountain was broken off - apparently they are just glued on to the top. The fountain also has a horrible smell. I decided to return the broken fountain only to find that Grandin Road wants me to pay return shipping for a damaged item that was sent to me. This is a 30 pound item so it is not cheap to ship. I have security camera video of the delivery showing the box was open when delivered, but they still won't send a replacement without me paying for shipping again. Pretty disappointed. When I tried to leave the above review, their "moderators" wouldn't approve it, so the next customer will never know.

I ordered a small 3 drawer dresser which arrived about a week after I ordered it and it was very well packed.
However, the bottom drawer was not put together properly so the face of the drawer comes off, partially, as does the side of the drawer. It's made so you can't completely remove the drawer to repair it. I was able to duct tape it on the inside, but that won't hold forever. Also, the color is way off from the picture online, but that worked out ok as it goes well with my decor and I still like the look of it.
It's a heavy piece and impossible to ship back, especially since I'd have to pay shipping.
My email went unanswered so I called customer service and 40 minutes of back and forth got me a 10 percent plus shipping refund, so just over $80.
I'd have liked more, but reading all these other reviews I thought I'd better take what I could get.
The people I spoke with were helpful enough but the bottom line is the workmanship on the piece is very poor and I wouldn't order anything from them ever again.

Do not shop at this online store. The product looks really nice in the magazines, but it is dirt cheap quality and it's pretty pricey stuff. Also, they lie about when product will be shipped to you just to make a sale. I've been lied to three times by customer service. If you're looking for furniture within at least three or four months time, do not shop here they're estimated wait time is six months to a year. They are blaming Covid for this issue. They don't even have stock in their warehouse. All of the stuff is drop shipped from Indonesia. I would highly suggest not to purchase anything from this company unless of course, You don't care when you get your furniture and you don't care about quality. Grandin Road looks like it has a 4.5 star in other places. Those are not accurate. Those aren't even real clients those come from made up clients out of corporate. Stay away from this furniture store. I was not charged, But I have been waiting and still no furniture when I could've been looking elsewhere

I am posting here because Grandin Road will not post my negative review on their website.
I have really debated about spending time writing a review. I have ordered many items from Grandin Road. Most have been fine. Quality is commensurate with cost. A few have arrived damaged, but we're ultimately replaced. These items were delivered by UPS.
I waited for my final purchase, a cabinet, for 3 months. When the freight carrier finally sent me an automated call for delivery, I was thrilled. The morning of delivery, they called me to cancel the delivery. I rescheduled with them. I received automated call the following week for delivery. I waited during my delivery window. That time window nearly passed. I called Grandin Road customer service. They were nominally helpful and sent me back to the freight carrier. The carrier had changed my delivery window. This was now 2 missed delivery times. Grandin Road customer service did not care at all. I canceled the order. They really did not care. They told me to "Have a nice day."
I cannot continue to purchase from a company that treats its customers with such total disregard.

Filtering algorithms prevent people from posting negative reviews. This perpetuates bad customer treatment by companies because potential buyers never know about these negative reviews.

However, I have been so screwed over by their customer service methods and delivery service that I'm officially done. I bought all my dining furniture from them, and six pieces of art as well.
I ordered a coffee table late one night, and tried to cancel it the next morning. Even though it would take two months to ship it, I couldn't cancel it. Not only that, but it stayed on my Visa card until their extremely slow delivery service returned it to their warehouse. (It was never shipped to my house.). I finally had to contest it on my Visa.
On top of this, I only live an hour and a half from their headquarters and warehouse, and it takes months to receive something. It would be easier for me to drive to West Chester and get it from their warehouse myself but I'm not permitted to do that. (Their outlet doesn't have most of the merchandise on their site.)
I did not learn my lesson and I ordered three pieces of art from them. One arrived broken. This was in July and I set up a return in early August. Once more, their delivery company was supposed to reach out to me, and they never did. I called customer service and set up one more return in mid August. It is now almost the end of October, and they still have not contacted me to pick this piece of art up and I am out $200 because they will not take it off my Visa.
Obviously, I'm now completely done with this company which is sad because I really liked their merchandise.

A friend gave me a birthday $100 gift card for Grandin Road so I purchased a summer wreath for my front door. I ordered end of APRIL and it wasn't going to be shipped till end of JUNE/early JULY. The wreath cost over $100 so I had the difference put on a credit card. In early July, I noticed that I had been charged for the entire cost of the wreath on my credit card instead of the difference ($34). I called Grandin Road and was told that it would be taken care of. A couple days later I checked my credit card statement and now I had both charges ($134 and $34). Since it was pending, I waited a few days and then I went back in and both were gone. I called Grandin Roads to find out that someone had cancelled my order. And now, they were all out of these wreaths. I can't believe it. They screw up the billing, tell me its corrected, and then someone cancels it. Now I am stuck with a $100 gift card that I will never use since I will never buy anything from this place again. This was my first purchase with Grandin Road and my last.

I will NEVER by from this company again, and I suggest you think twice before you considering shopping at Grandinroad. I purchased two outdoor benches as a house warming gift for my daughter in Jan 2021. We used them for one season. When winter approached, the benches were taken inside and stored in the house for the winter. When we got them out to use them for this summer, there was one board on the seat of one of the benches that was apparently a bad board, and/or a bad finish. The board splintered and peeled in three or four different spots. I sent an email along with three pictures to their product specialist, which is exactly what customer service instructed me to do. She said I was just outside of our one year warranty, but she was sure they would help. The product specialist sent an email back basically saying, " sorry, you are outside of your warranty, the benches need to be treated annually with polyurethane." She also suggested that I can sand the board down smoothly, go to the hardware store, purchase some black paint, and touch the board up myself. Exactly what I would expect to have to do for a $700.00 dollar purchase, a mere year later! It is very obvious that it was not from a lack of polyurethane, as all the other boards are still perfect. She said since I was a valued customer, they would give me a gift card to Grandinroad, for $99.50. These benches were over $700.00, we used them for one summer, and they won't do anything except offer me a lousy $100, not even. They have a 1.87 rating here, I only wish I would have read these reviews before I purchased from them, because I would have not gone forward with the benches. I only hope this will help someone else that is considering shopping with Grandinroad... my suggestion would be to find what you are shopping for at another company that will stand behind their product.

I wanted a little ottoman so I searched "ottoman" into Google and I saw one I liked being advertised by Grandin Road. I went ahead and purchased it and then was offered an upsell of matching pillows. I went ahead and bought a matching pillow for $60 for my chair.
Well the pillow came but the ottoman still hadn't arrived. I thought maybe it was being shipped separately. Finally after a few days, I went and looked at my email and realized that the ottoman wasn't going to ship for another 4 months!
I went back and looked at the listing and I saw that it did say that it wasn't shipping until October (it's July right now). But this was not highlighted and I was not looking for a "ship by" date. I never thought that someone would be advertising a product on Google that they don't have in stock.
Now I'm stuck with a pillow that I wasn't shopping for in the first place. Yes, I could return it, but I don't want to go through the hassle. The return would cost me $8 and I don't feel like contacting customer service over it. It's just my loss.
I'm going to cancel my order for the ottoman and just look for another one. It's a very poor business practice to advertise products that you don't have in stock... let alone won't have stocked for months. It should clearly say that the product is backordered. I'm angry that I was upsold a product (the pillow) on an item that this company doesn't even have in stock.
I will never shop with Grandin Road again, even if I see something I love on their site. The pillow is decent. It's good quality and worth the price. But I'll never give them my money again.

I have had a similar experience as mentioned by Sandra A in her 5/12/20 review. I ordered an item on 5/11/20 and received an email notice stating that there may be a delay in receiving my order. No time frame was given for this delay. I sent two emails inquiring about the delay. No email response from Grandin Road. I talked to a customer service representative on 5/13/20. She said the item ordered was shipping soon. It was not shipped.
I received a text message, on 5/17/20, stating that the item would ship on 5/18 and that I would receive a shipping notification email. I did not receive an email notification and the item was not shipped. Spoke with another customer service representative, Brandy, on 5/19 and she told me that the item was scheduled to ship that day (5/19). It did not ship. Spoke with another customer service representative, Kim, on 5/20 and she told me that the item was scheduled to ship that day (5/20). It did not ship. None of the customer service representatives that I spoke with made any effort to go beyond reading me what was listed on their computer screen, no one attempted to reach out to the shipping department, or anyone else, to determine why there was a delay. (To be fair, the customer service reps may have been instructed to respond in this manner to all inquiries.) Not the type of customer service that I would expect from a company that does not sell inexpensive merchandise. I have ordered from many different companies during the Covid-19 crisis, and every other company was able to give me an accurate idea of how long the delay would be. Not Grandin Road. Shop elsewhere and save yourself the headache.

I ordered two barrel chairs. First time ever ordering from Grandinroad. They arrived pretty quickly. We liked them after unboxing. So far, so good. However, one was damaged. Trying to get it returned and replaced is where this horror story begins. I took pictures and emailed customer service. They eventually replied I had two choices: take a $79 credit and keep the chair or swap it out for a new one. Since the damage was in the front and quite visible, I opted for the latter. We really liked the undamaged chair and the 2nd chair was identical but in a different color. I was clear in my instructions I would like to exchange the chair both in emails and a printed out note inside the box. Well, not so fast. All of a sudden a PayPal credit appeared. Nothing from Grandinroad, mind you. Just a credit notice from PayPal. Not only that, the credit was short by about $49. I have no idea how they calculated the credit. So I email again (at this point, I need documentation of whats going on, not a chat with a CSR) and indicate: 1) you didn't credit me properly for the chair 2) you didn't include taxes in the credit and 3) I shouldn't have to incur shipping for a damaged product. So what happens? Now I get a credit of $11.40. Huh? Again, PayPal informs me, nothing from Grandinroad. So now I have to email again. Not only that, I noticed they charged me 7% in taxes. OHio is 5.75%. Florida, where I live is 6%. So how do we get 7%? Why is their taxes at all? They have no Point Of Sale or Nexus in Florida. I have a feeling this is going to go on for a while. As someone else on here said "consider any purchase from this company final".
The contrast between this experience and say, Amazon is like night and day. It's like Customer Service has been transported back 50 years in an era when customer experience is everything. Don't be fooled; These folks keep an upscale brand appearance but their back office operations are horrendous. BTW, Grandinroad is owned by Cornerstone Brands Inc. They own Ballard Designs, Chasing Fireflies, Frontgate, Garnet Hill, Grandin Road, Improvements, and TravelSmith. So if you want to patronize those other brands, good luck. I know I won't."

I was hoping to find a sofa quickly for my daughter, who moved into her first apartment couchless. Before ordering the Ava, I called Grandin Road to ask about availability and was told that the blue sofa was in stock and would be the quickest to ship. Once I placed the order, I was given a delivery window of December 6-13. Each time I checked the order status the estimated delivery date was postponed. I called customer service to ask about the order status and, each time, was told the sofa would ship out that day. However, the order status continued to show as "in process" with a new delayed delivery date. I then found a sofa locally that was in stock and available to deliver the same day, so I used the Grandin road chat feature to cancel the order. The chat agent said they would email the warehouse about the cancellation. The next day, the order status still showed as "in process" with a new delayed delivery date. I then called Grandin road to cancel the order again with the same results. After canceling by phone the second time, I received a text message saying my order had shipped. I emailed Grandin road to let them know I had canceled the order, and the next day they charged my credit card for the sofa I had canceled four times. When I asked for a refund, I was told they would request one, but it could take a few weeks. Thankfully my credit card company was willing to reverse the charge, as I don't have confidence that grandin road would have handled the refund any better than they handled the order or cancelation. I am also relieved not to own a product from them. I recommend something other than Grandin road.

I would not recommend using Grandin Road. The reviews posted on Grandinroad.com are inconsistent with those posted about the company elsewhere.
