I created an account and they asked me to submit 6 pictures before I could send a like. For weeks, I was wondering what is going on. I haven't got any notifications. This is just like Tinder where I have to wait for someone to like me in order to message them. USELESS
Free membership gives you nothing, free options don't work. But they show you plenty of matches in your city. However, they are nowhere to be found when you upgrade to premium. What a scam! Save your $ and just avoid this money pit! Don't be suckered into Hinge and other fraudulent sites which sell you an overpriced long-term membership. They have almost no real people and they are nothing but a huge time- and money-vacuum.
Want an app that will drain your battery in the blink of an eye?
Want an app that makes you trawl through hundreds (yes, hundreds!) of profiles a day, a lot of which you rejected yesterday?
Want an app that takes no notice whatsoever of the preferences you set, even if you make them ridiculously tight?
Then Hinge is for you
I set a really tight set of preferences (1 mile radius of my location and a two year age window (48 - 49) and it still gives me more than 200 profiles a day to wade through
Nobody has time for that!
I suspect that if you subscribe, the extra preferences you can control may cut the number of profiles down a lot. It's almost like it is designed to piss you off intensely so you spend your money to stop it being so bad
Ah, yes. It's all becoming clear now
Hinge is a scam. They have a "standout" section full of attractive ppl you would be interested in to suck you in, but they're all fake profiles. You have to buy "roses" to send to these generic fake profiles. Once you become a member the algorithms put your profile at the bottom of the pile so you buy their profile boost option which increases your visibility. Then if you don't renew your membership, all of a sudden you get 8, 9, 10 likes per day. It's a cash grab and nothing more. There are some ppl you'll match with but you're better off trying something else cuz this is a huge scam. Good luck tho
Terrible dating site! I went on there and I deleted it 3 days later I tried to create a new account and they have banned me! I spoke to one person... uploaded innocent happy pics! And they ban you for life! I think it's wrong... they want you to have love but then be so harsh with banning... it's terrible! Please don't sign up for it! You'll regret it
They don't give you a chance
I tried contacting them and got nothing!
Hinge your terrible!
The women are gorgeous extremely well educated adventurous... So why are they on a dating app? Women who are of this level have a strong social network to get out and meet somebody... Women of this level don't waste their time on apps..
I joined Hinge a few weeks ago and paid a 6 months subscription of $ 29.99.
I was honest about my age, I'm 65, and looking for men age 60-75, that I clearly stated in my profile.
They have not sent a lot of "matches", and that was OK.
However 2 days ago they "matched" me with an 18 years old. Not only this is insulting and disgusting, but as a pediatrician I could lose my medical license if I dated someone that age.
Hinge is obviously using ONLY some strange algorithm to match people without any human insight.
I wrote to them and asked for a refund of $ 29.99. It is not the money, it is the principle.
They did not even bother to respond to me.
Do not subscribe to this app. It's a scam. They allow you like 5 matches a day so then you have to sign up, then if you sign up for a membership they take your money and ban you for no reason. Happened to me and a friend of mine. It's also full of fake profiles.
I've maybe gotten one or two likes and I've been on the site for 2 or 3 weeks. I've gone in and changed my prompts I've changed my photos and nothing has changed. I don't know if the men just don't go on the side after they sign up or it's a personal thing I can't figure it out. They also have something called standouts where they will spotlight somebody's profile but you cannot message those people you have to pay more money to send them a rose and if they want to message you they can but you can't. To me that's a scam and it's false advertising, I am not renewing my subscription and I'm upset that I joined it in the first place. Had to pick one start was the only option that was the least of all.
All major dating apps are owned by Match group which have heavily monetized and not revolutionized online dating as they claim. Hinge has a kinda decent format unfortunately filled with abandoned accounts, fake profiles and the ugliest shortest fattest weirdest baldest individuals that do not fit my preferences. As a free user I can't really use that option it's a locked feature. Hinge shoves the same hideous profiles down my throat and offers nothing else. It just seems the algorithm and messaging system don't work correctly and worst than that just aren't really many attractive or credible users to find a potential match. So it's very disappointing and I almost need therapy from the repetitive stack of goblins I have seen on there! Designed to be deleted because this app sucks and filled with atrocious dare I say "human beings".
I am Joseph/ Justin no1 stole any money from anybody. Benna Basi AKA Tamia personally gave me this money. I have never asked for any money This lady continue to offer to help me financially investment. I have offered to pay the investment back now. However she has told
Me to keep it. Contact me if you want the full story
Well, when a site lists someone as "active today" and then their profile says, "I'm convinced 2022 will be a better year" and it's almost 2024...
BEWARE! Hinge Site Took $89.99 for 6 Month Subscription than Canceled my account after 4 Days.
They sent a vague email saying I had violate their Terms of Service by their own independent determination. When I asked what I did wrong and if I could get my money refunded they sent me this explanation.
(Hinge reserves the right to investigate and, if appropriate, suspend or terminate your account without a refund if you have violated these Terms, misused our Services, or behaved in a way that Hinge regards as inappropriate or unlawful, on or off our Services.)
Also, this site is full of FAKE PROFILES. These fake profiles contact you and than try to scam you out of your money once they move you off site. Please BEWARE! This site is a TOTAL SCAM SITE run out of Columbia.
Last month I joined Hinge and I was thrilled I found handsome men my age in the '60s. At one point I had 6 matches all talking to me.
Soon I realized these were fake profiles as these men never shared anything about themselves, their texts we're five words long and refused to have a date.
These scammers are so bold they even used a Pentagon general picture on a profile. How do I know it was fake? Because no one of his pictures has a normal cloth on. Just the uniform. How can Hinge miss this?
I reported all the fake profiles to Hinge but these men keep popping out.
Yesterday a man from the UK match with me. I ask him to send me a two-way ticket to the UK to see if he was real, he disappeared.
I sent an email to Hinge asking them if I can avoid these scammers with a paid subscription, but they did not answer.
I am very disappointed on Hinge not screening the people posting fake profiles. If a person looks like a model or like a general is not going to be in Hinge.
Also, there is a lot of inconsistency where these men live. Their profile says Chicago but they say they live in Ohio and their phone has a California area code. Very deceiving.
They generally perform moderation in such a way that promotes an agenda. I was banned without cause and because I was exercising morality in a way that was appropriately respectful. Someone had disrespected me by not giving me their undivided attention (was texting, performing chores in her house, somewhat putting me on to perform to qualify myself). Hinge likely is staffed with people who likewise saw that I specified on my profile, "not anti-Trump" and this factored into their decision. I think internet companies like this on some level are promoting hate, but at the very least are promoting an agenda in clear violation of the statutes.
Requesting congressional investigation and subpoenas, please. Consumers are tired of having media companies tell them what morality is which is a private and personal matter. Hinge purports itself to foster connection and yet clearly has zero methodology in place for resolving interpersonal conflict (nor is it clear what role it should play). For the baseline situation outside of safety matters, Hinge is clearly in violation of the statutory obligation to uphold neutral public forum requirements. This means that as a company they could be (if found to be in violation) fined or held liable. It is about time for companies like Hinge to be held liable for their mistakes that impact lives.
I work in the legal field and are a fairly attractive man. I can tell you right now from personal experience and meticulous observation, that they have a algorithm setup that is 98 percent fraudulent. 90 percent fake profiles, bots, 5 percent are actual prostitutes looking for work, and maybe 5 percent real women who are mostly overweight and unattractive. The prostitutes use this site to lure men outside Hinge, but label themselves as "Escorts" or "Companions" and will give you their actual hourly rate. If you report them, you will see them just in another fake profile with different photos but same person. I had this happen not once, but five different times! The WORST part of this site, is that any attractive profiles would fake photos they force you to pay for "Roses" just for the privilege to like them and send them a message, while all other ugly profiles which are consequently also mostly all fake, are free to like if you have a paid subscription. So essentially HINGE is a big pile of gigantic gartbagepile of $#*! to waste your time and money! Bro you are better off to going to some classy bars, events, and social gathering to meet real women, then settling for this dating app run by the mafia. (Think about it, only scumbags would run a business practice like this to rip people off and have their prostitutes working for them within the site! - scumbags - need to get all arrested for fraud and illegal trafficking).
Every single person on there asked me for money. Trolling like crazy on this app. You'll most likely get a scammer from another country asking to deposit money to there accounts
The app is garbage, and customer service are absolute $#*! clowns. Save your money and go out to the bar.
Don't use Hinge unless you are in a huge metropolitan area it's a waste of money. If you live in a smaller area, there are very few likely dating options that are not 50+ miles away.
This guy is fake, scammer, and they have videos that they use on skipe to pretend that he is real while a voice is speaking on top of the videos... be careful!
Hinge has a rating of 1.1 stars from 69 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Hinge most frequently mention and fake profiles. Hinge ranks 606th among Dating sites.
