Hinge has a rating of 1.2 stars from 68 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Hinge most frequently mention fake profiles problems. Hinge ranks 667th among Dating sites.
By far the best dating app for meeting people that are in the peripheries of your social circles. So if you want someone that went to the same school as you or someone that isn't totally creepy Hinge is definitely better than Tinder and all of those others.
This site is a waste of time and money: inappopriate matches, scant search results, very few real people, pretentious and self-absorbed women - my time on Hinge was pointless - it's one of the worst apps, they have no active profiles of genuine ladies. I don't regret leaving Hinge, but I wish Hinge had at least a few real authentic women accounts from my country. Now it is simply a money scam.
Last month I joined Hinge and I was thrilled I found handsome men my age in the '60s. At one point I had 6 matches all talking to me.
Soon I realized these were fake profiles as these men never shared anything about themselves, their texts we're five words long and refused to have a date.
These scammers are so bold they even used a Pentagon general picture on a profile. How do I know it was fake? Because no one of his pictures has a normal cloth on. Just the uniform. How can Hinge miss this?
I reported all the fake profiles to Hinge but these men keep popping out.
Yesterday a man from the UK match with me. I ask him to send me a two-way ticket to the UK to see if he was real, he disappeared.
I sent an email to Hinge asking them if I can avoid these scammers with a paid subscription, but they did not answer.
I am very disappointed on Hinge not screening the people posting fake profiles. If a person looks like a model or like a general is not going to be in Hinge.
Also, there is a lot of inconsistency where these men live. Their profile says Chicago but they say they live in Ohio and their phone has a California area code. Very deceiving.
They generally perform moderation in such a way that promotes an agenda. I was banned without cause and because I was exercising morality in a way that was appropriately respectful. Someone had disrespected me by not giving me their undivided attention (was texting, performing chores in her house, somewhat putting me on to perform to qualify myself). Hinge likely is staffed with people who likewise saw that I specified on my profile, "not anti-Trump" and this factored into their decision. I think internet companies like this on some level are promoting hate, but at the very least are promoting an agenda in clear violation of the statutes.
Requesting congressional investigation and subpoenas, please. Consumers are tired of having media companies tell them what morality is which is a private and personal matter. Hinge purports itself to foster connection and yet clearly has zero methodology in place for resolving interpersonal conflict (nor is it clear what role it should play). For the baseline situation outside of safety matters, Hinge is clearly in violation of the statutory obligation to uphold neutral public forum requirements. This means that as a company they could be (if found to be in violation) fined or held liable. It is about time for companies like Hinge to be held liable for their mistakes that impact lives.
I work in the legal field and are a fairly attractive man. I can tell you right now from personal experience and meticulous observation, that they have a algorithm setup that is 98 percent fraudulent. 90 percent fake profiles, bots, 5 percent are actual prostitutes looking for work, and maybe 5 percent real women who are mostly overweight and unattractive. The prostitutes use this site to lure men outside Hinge, but label themselves as "Escorts" or "Companions" and will give you their actual hourly rate. If you report them, you will see them just in another fake profile with different photos but same person. I had this happen not once, but five different times! The WORST part of this site, is that any attractive profiles would fake photos they force you to pay for "Roses" just for the privilege to like them and send them a message, while all other ugly profiles which are consequently also mostly all fake, are free to like if you have a paid subscription. So essentially HINGE is a big pile of gigantic gartbagepile of $#*! to waste your time and money! Bro you are better off to going to some classy bars, events, and social gathering to meet real women, then settling for this dating app run by the mafia. (Think about it, only scumbags would run a business practice like this to rip people off and have their prostitutes working for them within the site! - scumbags - need to get all arrested for fraud and illegal trafficking).
Tip for consumers:
ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE THIS SITE RUN BY THE MAFIA WHO USE PROSTITUTES AND FAKE BOTS! Consider yourself a stupid desperate gullible sucker if you think you are actually joining a dating website.
Every single person on there asked me for money. Trolling like crazy on this app. You'll most likely get a scammer from another country asking to deposit money to there accounts
Don't use Hinge unless you are in a huge metropolitan area it's a waste of money. If you live in a smaller area, there are very few likely dating options that are not 50+ miles away.
This guy is fake, scammer, and they have videos that they use on skipe to pretend that he is real while a voice is speaking on top of the videos... be careful!
Hinge blocks genuine accounts for no reason
I made a new account with a new phone number and didn't get any matches so I emailed hinge and found out that they blocked my account. They gave me a generic cookie cutter copy and paste answer with no explanation why they blocked me.
I've been a long-time user of hinge and now I can't use it (after getting a new phone number) and I don't even get any explanation. A while back there was so many fake profiles, where I would constantly report them but it didn't stop more new fake profiles being made. But now my genuine profile is the one to be blocked. I'll be spreading my story to all my friends and warn them of how unfair hinge are to its genuine users- while at the same time allowing floods of very obviously fake accounts to be on the app.
Since hinge doesn't even make an attempt to resolve genuine users' issues or complaints, the only choice I have is to review and complain about it on every possible platform, consumer rights and third party review websites.
The hinge email response:

Tip for consumers:
Don't waste your time on hinge, customer service is not there to help their genuine customers.
Well, when a site lists someone as "active today" and then their profile says, "I'm convinced 2022 will be a better year" and it's almost 2024...
Not my useful app waste full blade on your pocket. Never use this app ever again unless you're ready to poll ur money.
I joined a short while ago. I think 9 out of 10 likes I get are scammers. It is endless and there is no reason to continue using the site.
What's the point in this app if I never get a message? I'm just checking photos all day long. This is by far the worst dating app ever.
The app is garbage, and customer service are absolute $#*! clowns. Save your money and go out to the bar.
I tried to sign up and I was blocked for no reason. Huge sign to not trust these guys. Two Thumbs down!
All these dating apps are being sued for fraud:

It shows you a bunch of ugly fat people. Then it has another category for attractive people, which you have to PAY MORE to message. Total scam.
Ok I did not get scammed, but Ugly! My God, They don't need a dating site they need a health club. They are just gross.
Charged 79.99 unauthorized for some crap called boost even though I don't have a subscription. Thieves, stayfar away from these clowns!
