This site is awful. You create an account and they'll willy-nilly delete or suspend your account without any defense or being given the opportunity to fix any errors or mistakes you may make on the site in accident. They give you no opportunity to erase your error, they just delete you and delete you and delete you. Even when you're told you can create a new email address and create a new account they'll delete you. This is the worst friendship website on the market today. Do not waste your time on this piece of trash website. I promise you'll regret and get so frustrated with the site you'll want to pull your hair out in frustration.

This site is a watering hole for male sexual predators from all over the world. If you are an attractive woman with your photo posted you will be bombarded by male members that will try to lure you into doing online chat via Skype or online messaging to try to take advantage of you for free online cybersex, soliciting for money, or sexting. Women are at a definite disadvantage on this site. Best solution is DO NOT post your photo on this site on your profile.
This will help to weed the useless chafe looking for a free thrill on the internet.

I joined interpals to make actual friends and i got were people who do not view you back, people who do not respond to your polite messages, people that read your message and don't reply, people that block you if you say 'hello' for no reason, people that say message them and that they want friends but view you and do not respond. It made me feel like i did something wrong or my picture of myself is ugly but it is not me at all. It is a rubbish site filled with wierdo's who have no real lives and people that are looking for likes on their fake, photoshop trashy pictures. Nobody from america is real btw, and the asian people show very eccentric pictures too. They are such rude people on that site, i won't be going back, to all people on it, you are sad losers.

I've used Interpals for over seven years and I can pretty much tell you this website used to be a good website to chat, talk and creat lifelong friendships and maybe meet a girlfriend, believe it or not.
Back in 2011, I met tons of people who I still talk to, few of them should I say, and back then it was nice and it seemed that people genuinely wanted to talk to you, get to know you and even learn your language, but here's when things kind of changed, from 2014 on I couldn't meet a single person, things got bored and it didn't have the sparkle anymore, you just would scroll up and down all day long and not a single soul would get back to you, which was very annoying, by the way.
All in all, it's worth trying and good to do some language exchance, but nothing more than that now, although you might be the lucky one and go past "hi, how are you?"

This is possibley the most weird site ever. Firstly, nobody is looking for a Penpal or someone to have a conversation with or improve their language skills. The profile will say, improve their language and not looking for flirting or romance and that they are married or in a relationship. Then you look at the photos and believe me they are looking for far more than an Penpal! Oh, and thie friends appear to be young men from countries where English isn't the first language. You might get a few single words reply, again odd because they complain of people just saying Hi or Hello. If you are really lucky a whole sentence in very good English. If you comment on the good English it's back to Borat very quickly. And if you make no comment about the photos, why would you need to? You are dead in the water.
Now, be especially careful with the ones who claim to be deep thinkers or intellectual s and free spirits. These are usually very nasty and rude and way up themselves. They think they can insult because you are not on the level and don't understand the joke. Believe me, they usually get smoked out quickly and that's why they go running off. Lots of young men on the site trying to get their hands on anything they can.
I understand that people like to feel desirable and wanted, even escape the tedious little lives they have but this is not the site they should be on. If you want to connect try looking for local groups and talking to people on the bus etc, you will get more. Please be careful using this creepy site.

You can forgot about learning languages because most time you will writing in english. Most people are rude and arogant. Many people have miliard words in their profile page and telling you that they dont answer to only hi, hello etc. then how to start conversation woth people who have answers on everything in their page... site is need to fix because sometimes you getting messages but messages page is clean.

It used to be a really good website until 2016, then the indian scammer was registering on there. He creates tons of fake accounts to attack ppl and mods. Often he's holding discussions between his different accounts, you can see it in the Indian thread and in the general threads. He pretended to be a brazilian, polish girls, dutch men, a dutch girl, afgani, indonesians, singaporean girl and filipina. He used to discuss such issues as threesomes and all. Also his favourite issues are skin colour, racism and cannibalism. During 1.5 years he lies that he met celebrities face to face and has a very beautiful GF from the USA, who calls him every day to India and loves him. It isn't a regular troll, but hideous and very harrassing psychopath. The big reason many people stop loving the site.

Joined when I was around 18 [23 now from the UK] and was almost scammed to the point of sextortion. Absolutely disgraceful. Honestly the amount of times I was asked to webcam and my computer (thank god I'm a tech nerd) told me they were recording my screen. I'm so glad that I was that scared to leave at the time; but it's taken this long to actually write something about this.
Seriously, don't sign up to this site.
