Africa is considered the poorest continent on Earth. Almost every second person living in the states of sub-Saharan Africa lives below the poverty line. Particularly affected by poverty in Africa are the weakest members of society, their children and women.

POVERTY IN AFRICA - THE INDICATORS

According to the World Bank, the International Poverty Line refers to those who have less than 1.25 US dollars a day to live, and thus live on the very edge of existence. The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) sets various indicators in its Human Development Index (HDI) to measure poverty in Africa and all other countries in the world. This includes:

Life expectancy at birth
Average school attendance period
Expected school attendance period as well
Per capita income
As the indicators show, education is closely linked to poverty by the United Nations - because those who can not read and write have little chance of getting a skilled job and build their livelihood.

In the annual report on human development published by the United Nations (UN), the African countries of Malawi, Liberia, Burundi, Eritrea, Chad, Sierra Leone and Niger are regularly in last place - this has not changed until 2014.

Found an item I have had for about 30 years, finally time to find out what it ou d and does it have value ou e. Got my answer quickly.

I attempted to get technical help from Hulu. Instead, and not knowing, I was led to JustAnswer, which I wasn't sure what the connection to Hulu might be. The site said there was a one-time fee of $1.00 and it would be refunded. I quickly learned this business had nothing to do with Hulu. Anyhow, I figured that losing $1,00 was no big deal. The next day on my credit card, I saw a charge of $46 from JustAnswer. What? I never used the service. I immediately started a chat with a representative. I said I wanted to cancel the membership and a refund of the $46. I was told that the membership would be canceled with no recurring charges but NO refund. The policy, as pointed out by the rep was no refunds. I explained that I signed up by mistake the day before and I thought it was only a dollar and I never used the service. I was told the policy states no refunds. Being irritated, I threatened to write negative reviews and contact my bank for help. I did contact my bank (BOA), and after looking at the series of charges of $1 and then another immediately for $46, the bank quickly surmised that this was not an honorable practice and the bank would get my money back. I also canceled that particular card. In the meantime, I did learn that as a "One-time courtesy" Just Anwer would refund my $46. Too bad it took threats for them to make this decision. Anyhow, looking at the ratings of this company, there is a wide range. I would proceed cautiously!

I was desperate for help with my laptop, Just answer's post said they had the right expert for me. I was very specific about needing help with Ubuntu a branch of Linux, their posting said they had an expert. He had a lot of computer experience and knowledge but not with Ubuntu (my specific request) we spent way to much time. At the end he couldn't help with the most basic problem I encountered I left extremely frustrated. Later I received confirmation of a $46 charge to my account. If I had needed help with Microsoft or MAC I'm sure he would have helped. I wont be using them again.

I follow advice and took my kitty into a vet the next day. He's lots better now.

My question was about end of life care and wanting a document that basically says if find me unconscious just leave me alone. At first they sent me to Dr. Scott. Dr. Scott told me that a DNR means that medical personnel will do all they can to save you up until the point your heart stops at which point nothing more is done. My sister had a DNR and was in the hospital when she was given dilaudid. Within seconds my sisters vital signs began to decline. Our mother ask what was going and the nurse explain my sister was having a reaction to the dilaudid. Our mother ask if the nurse would do something and the nurse replied, no. The nurse said with DNR's they simply let nature take it course. Our mother then told the nurse to forget about the DNR and save her daughter. Narcan was given and my sister was saved. I thought it was odd that you could interpret DNRs in different ways. After speaking to Dr. Scott he told me to go to an attorney to have both a DNR and a living will made. So, I had to pay JustAnswer twice. A local paramedic told me all I need to do was get a tattoo on my chest with the initials DNR and have a medical alert necklace so they could call medicalert and verify that I had a DNR and living will. Another thing I thought was is when I ask to speak to an attorney they wanted to know exactly where I lived to make sure the attorney was familiar with the laws in NC. When they directed me to a doctor justAnswer never bothered to ask where I live.

I said no thank you and received no response back...so I ended the call
