SOLD me a ticket w/ a "hidden leg" that was INTERNATIONAL & won't refund!
October 23, 2020

Kiwi.com is a scam company. My daughter has used them before with no problem. However, if you have a problem, good luck getting any help! THEY sold me a ticket with a "hidden leg" that continues on to another country after we get off the flight. This was completely hidden on their website. What this means is that we wouldn't be able to board the flight at all unless we have a passport and visa even though I booked a domestic flight! (I booked this flight for the next morning.) When I opened the confirmation email & opened the booking, it showed the right cities, and had a small, vague comment about possibly needing a visa so I called the airline directly. They said that they consider what Kiwi sold me as an Int'l flight and I would not be able to board without all the int'l IDs which of course I don't have. When I called Kiwi, I seemed to be talking to India, and they had no understanding of the problem with this and why the flight was misrepresented, saying that I should call my consulate. What the heck? After about 30 min of this nonsense, I asked to speak to a supervisor, and she finally said she'd talk to him and call the airline to confirm what I was saying. She returned saying that it was indeed their mistake to sell me a flight for the morning that we can't board, and that they would issue me a refund. I unfortunately didn't get a confirmation right then and there, and I waited but I didn't get an email confirmation either. So I had to call again, go over all this again. The rep said he'd send me a refund confirmation. I got the email, and it basically said that their "finance dept" would be conducting an "investigation" & I will be hearing from them in 30-90 days! This is not a refund confirmation guarantee! Unbelievable! I had to call again, go over this all again. This rep again was giving me a hassle and not understanding why this was a problem with them. I asked to speak to a supervisor again. They said that the supervisor would call back in 2 hours. Again, just a way to get rid of me. This company has NO INTEGRITY and CAN'T BE TRUSTED! Yes, you may get lucky and everything goes fine to save a few bucks, but you also have to research all the airline flights before you book and make sure you aren't booking a flight with "hidden legs" to another country! This is crazy and unethical. Do I expect them to own up and give me my refund? Of course not, after seeing how tricky they are. But I would never trust buying a ticket from them unless you like gambling that it's actually the flight you thought you bought & you don't mind losing time and money. At least I didn't bother showing up to the airport the next morning for a flight they won't let me board.
