We called to cancel an account that was cancelled 9 months ago with a documented email and they did not refund the money. I am opening a dispute with my credit card company.

2 days later: updated to 2 stars from 1 star.
After my credit card company contacted them I was able to get all my money back. They sent me an email stating that they were wrong and the account should have been canceled based on my email.

Paid 1.95 to print out my resume, did not sign up for a subscription. 5 months later notice they have taken over 200 dollars in recurring charges. Company is based out of San Francisco and preys on its bait and switch tactics. I feel robbed and angry. To their customer service, please don't comment on this review with your fake sincerity regarding your practices, if you cared their would not be nearly 600 one star reviews regarding your site. The CEO of this company is James Freundlich from New York, he has made millions from us suckers. This company actually has a manual for dealing with customers who feel they have been scammed. Do a search, you will find it.

Hi John M,

I’m very sorry that you have had this experience with our service. The auto renewal is listed with the features of the 14 day subscription on the sales page, as well as on the payment and confirmation pages. You were also sent an email confirmation of the purchase that also listed the monthly rate and the date that your subscription would auto renew.

We are very committed to providing great customer service and again are very sorry that you had this experience. We take all feedback very seriously. It will be forwarded to our Marketing team. Please contact me directly if you have any further issues. Please email me at anna.b@livecareer-support.com.

Best Regards,

Anna

I have not had to prepare a resume in more than 20 years. Not knowing where to start, I found your sight to be very informative and easy to use. If not for the recommendations and tips I would not have been able to put together a resume. The choice of styles was great addition. I will certainly use LiveCareer again and pass the word to friends and family.

They said my subscription had been cancelled but charges kept posting to my credit card. The customer service representative was a defensive jerk and of no help. They refused to refund my credit card charges after the date the subscription expired. Finally after multiple trips to talk to their supervisor and further investigation they agreed to the refund.

Stay away from this website!

Although I have a lot of experience in my field of Education, I was not sure how to produce a good resume that could capture the attention of prospective employers. I was in the process of changing employer. The last time I wrote a resume was 8 years ago. I decide to sign up with LiveCareer. On LiveCareer, I received so many helpful hints on how to prepare an outstanding resume and cover letter. I downloaded the cover letter and resume to my computer and tweaked them before sending them out. Within two weeks, I was interviewed, and given a position with a company. I decide at that point to cancel my membership with LiveCareer, since I was no longer going to use it. The cancellation process was hassle free, and the young lady who processed it was very courteous, organized, and professional.

I would greatly recommend LiveCareer to anyone who wants help in producing great resume and cover letter.

Proceed with great caution.
May 21, 2016

Like many other people, I signed up with LiveCareer in order to easily make a resume. I paid for the 14-day trial, but forgot to cancel my subscription after that, as being a college student can be rather distracting. Two months later, I discover the two 40 dollar payments on my checking account. Naturally, this was rather distressing, so I contacted customer support. Thankfully, they have stated that they will be reimbursing me in full for both months of payments. If the transactions aren't posted within the expected time, I will definitely be making contact with them again.

Decent service, with some rather tricky billing guidelines. Also rather expensive. If you can afford it, it's not a bad service. But if you are currently job-hunting, or are low on funds, I would recommend just creating a resume on your own.

With the help of their resume and cover letter tools I got multiple interview requests and job offers. Whether that was due to the help of their product or just my overall awesomeness, who knows?!;-) Subscription is a little pricey but worth it for a month or two. They clearly state that you will be enrolled in reoccurring monthly payments when you sign up, so be mindful of that. When you want to cancel, just live chat with them and it's a simple process. Alejandro and Andres were very helpful both times I live chatted. They offered reduced pricing to keep me from cancelling (as low as $4 a month for life). Very temping. Would use again but hopefully I won't need to. B-)

And by the way... Congrats on the new job!

Beware!
March 24, 2015

This is a Scam! Build your free resume, pay $1.95 to print it so you can hopefully get a job right? Watch out because you just Signed up for them to take $40 a month out of you! Forget the 24 hour support! If you have an hour or two kill then you might reach someone. What do you get for that $40. Well the customer service rep who we will call Peggy (because dude sounds like Peggy from that capital one scam commercial lmao!) Couldn't answer that for me. Long story short if your looking to get screwed then go spend the hundred on a hooker, at least the hooker isn't gonna screw you with fine print! Beware!

This $#*!ing website charged me for 12 months. I just realized that I was being charged on my AmEx for something that I never used. The last time I used this website was to make a resume for my Technical Writing class for a trial period of $3. It's weird that nobody seems to be interested about the voice of these many people who were cheated by this cheap money making act. They took more than $400 from mt credit card. Be aware folks! $#*! LIVECAREER.COM!

Dear Sam,

Thanks for your comments.

We are very clear that when you subscribe there is an auto-renewing feature for which you can cancel anytime and if you don’t cancel your subscription, we will bill you at the monthly rate of $34.95. We state this feature on your payment confirmation page and again give you this information when we send you your payment confirmation to the e-mail address that you use when you signed up. We give you multiple ways to cancel your subscription: By phone, live chat, e-mail or you can even go to our website, where there is a self-cancellation feature under the “My Account” section to avoid incurring this charge if service is no longer needed.

If you have any questions regarding your subscription our customer service team is available 18 hours a day, 7 days a week from 6am- Midnight EST at toll free 1-888-816-0576 or through live chat on our site. If you prefer you can send us an email to: customerservice@livecareer.com
