Still waiting...
October 18, 2023

Can't really give an honest review because I still haven't received my TV. I ordered a 85" Samsung TV and it has to be the slowest shipping I have ever seen in my life. I live in central Kentucky and all products bought from this company comes from Canada. Which is fine, It literally takes about 7 1/2 hours to drive from Kentucky to Canada where their warehouse is (Oakville ON, Canada) It's been 9 days since they shipped the TV and I just now scheduled my delivery date, Which NO ONE bothers to tell you. If you order a TV larger than 50" you have to schedule a delivery, so luckily I was checking my tracking with "CEVA" which is the shipping company they use. The next available date was in NOVEMBER, middle of NOVEMBER! I could walk to Canada, pick up my TV and walk back before they would be able to deliver it... It's kinda silly that it takes so long for a simple TV delivery. Hell, Amazon for the same TV is 2 days, PRIME!I'll update the review if and when I get the television...

Update 10/19/*******@1227 I now have a delivery date of 10/27/2023. The item is in Covington KY, which is about 35 minutes away from me... So, I have to wait 8 days for my product to go 49 miles... CRAZY!

Update 10/20/*******@1752
Just got an update and my item has went from Covington Kentucky (which is 35-40 minutes from my house) to Chicago Illinois, which is over 6 hours away. So… My item went from Oakville ON, to Toronto CA, back to Oakville then back to Toronto then to Charlotte NC, to Northern Kentucky (Northern Kentucky/Ohio international airport) to Chicago Illinois. Make it make sense. It's not MDG's fault but this could've been handled better. Use a different shipping company, something. There's no reason for that much traveling. By the time it gets here hell, it may have gone to Tokyo, Beijing, London and Berlin. My point is, that much handling to a 85" tv runs a greater risk of damage. It's silly.

Update 10/23/*******@1213
My item left Chicago International Airport and went back to Charlotte NC, stayed 6 hours and went back to Toronto Canada. It then traveled back to NC, this time Asheville and now this morning it's in Covington KY/Cincinnati Airport where it was last week. So unnecessary!

Update 10/27/*******@1331
Order was scheduled for delivery today between 0900-1300 here it is 30 minutes past the delivery time and nothing. No call, no show, nothing. Why waste someone's whole day to make them schedule a day and specific time and you not show up, you don't call, absolutely nothing to inform me where my item is. MDG may be a great place to order some smaller things from but they're not someplace I'd recommend buying larger items from. The shipping company they use (CEVA), is horrible. Not very happy at this minute. If my order isn't here by 1500 EST today, I'll refuse the delivery/order.

Update 10/27/2023 1357
TV arrived, I underestimated how big this dang this is and couldn't use my fireplace entertainment center and had to put my kitchen table in the living room until my wall mount comes in. Seems to be working just fine. I'll post a picture below. For reference, my kitchen table seat 8 people, it's right at 6' long. The TV hangs over about 7-8" on either side.

Tip for consumers:

I’ll keep updating when available.

Disgusting...
September 27, 2023

I had been contemplating over the last few years making a purchase from the MDG website. I recently sent in the necessary documents and ordered a smartphone that I felt was affordable on my budget, and was very happy with the experience at first. Within a few weeks, shortly after transitioning from my previous device it became quite apparent that there was spyware or virus of some kind on the smartphone when I received it. I began to investigate further and noticed that the phone I received is actually a similar but different model then the one I agreed to purchase on the MDG secure webpage. It was a model year older then the one I ordered. Most customers would probably not notice the slight difference, but I did. Imagine ordering iPhone 13 and being sent the iPhone 12...
Initially I reached out to MDG over email, as this is how I had been corresponding with them when I placed the order, to request information about any price match policy they may have, because I discovered that I could of purchased on Amazon for 2 thirds of the price. They even have a similar consignment program that may have actually been more convenient for me under the currebt circumstances. They offered an $80 credit which in reality meant that basically I could order an additional $80 worth of merchandise from their site. It appears that they still expect to be payed the same amount for the device.
While attempting to locate and remove the spyware it became apparent that this was somehow built right in to the framework of the device before being sent to me. There seems to be no option within the settings to disable or remove it and use the device normally. As if the invasion of my privacy was not concerning enough on its own, someone has been using the spyware to steal files and personal/account information, and even putting some disturbing media onto the device in its place to deter me from realizing that a portion of my files had been stolen, and removed.
I started reaching out to MDG over email again regarding this. I explained politely what the issue was and requested that maybe we do an exchange, since I really like the phone, but wouldn't be able to continue to use it because of the security issues.
I was totally surprised by the lack of accountability. First being sent from one employee at one department to another, and then being told that because I accepted the $80 credit for mix up and price match, that I had in turn forfeited any option to exchange. They also noted that I would have had only 30 days after placing the order to exchange it if there's an issue. There was absolutely no evidence that there would be an issue with spyware within the first few weeks. I suspect now that they intentionally had waited to begin meddling until after the 30 day return limit was up. This tells me that MDG was aware that the device was loaded with spyware, when they shipped it to me,but refuses to take any responsibility.
The employees that I have had correspondence with via email also started referring to a "marketplace", and "Sellers" as if the device was bought somewhere else and they just facilitate the deal and offer consignment plans.
I placed the order for the phone off of the MDG website which gives no information about third party seller, spyware, or anything like that. Only once I started to bring issues to their attention they started to imply that it had been bought from somewhere else through them. Once they have you locked in they become extremely hard to deal with and very unprofessional. Not only do I owe them for this device I now have to spend hundreds to replace it yet again.
I will be able to cancel any bi monthly payments, and even keep the device if I choose to, but the device is of little use to myself and I could not in good conscience sell it to unsuspecting buyer, and unfortunately my credit report will likely be affected negatively because of this. It took me years, and alot if work to manage to build what little credit I have. I am very frustrated with the experience dealing with MDG. My family and I are absolutely disgusted with the excuses, lack of accountability, and the fact that they would allow this to happen to one of their customers. I had plans to purchase other items through them over the next couple months, and although i feel very disappointed to have rethink everything, I am so thankful that I did not order smart TV for my bedroom like I originally intended, especially if it has camera.

Tip for consumers:

I would only consider making a purchase from them if it is a last resource, and be very careful saving or inputting any sensitive information onto any device that's been purchased from MDG, or through MDG

Way too intrusive, complicated and slow, rude sales people, finance elsewhere if you can
February 16, 2023

After dealing with these people for almost a week I cancelled my order and am still waiting on my refund. I applied. They replied saying I was approved for 3200. I ordered a laptop for half that amount. It was one I wanted as it was windows 10. Then the nightmare. They wanted full access to my bank account either through an app that wanted my sign in info. Did that though it made me uncomfortable. Not good enough. Then they wanted a copy of my last month statement. Still not good enough. They needed a phone number of someone I knew to verify even though they had my acct info and a copy of my bank statement. They also wanted to see that the first payment had been paid. I sent them that. Then they said that it had to be shown to have cleared despite seeing that it was on hold and taken from my account. I was told on Tuesday that it would be 5 days to clear and no chance of being sent until Monday which would have been more than a week after ordering, and that it would take 3 to 10 business days after that before I received it. That was taking up to almost 3 weeks now. On Tuesday it did clear the bank and I called again. Now they wanted me to send a bank statement showing it had cleared. I did. Then I was told that as I had asked for a refund if they couldn't get it out that week I had to start the process again. To add to that the sales person was rude. Talking over me, not listening, telling me that he had explained the process 3 time already and they had so many clients that basically I needed to shut up and wait. I wasted almost a week with these people. When I got so fed up I cancelled they offered me a hundred dollar discount but still said I would have to wait until at least Monday, a full week later to get my computer on the way and even then, not before I gave them my daughters phone so they could call and confirm it. If you don't mind jumping through hoop after hoop, condescending disrespectful sales people who think you have no other options and they can speak to you as if you were an idiot, and a multi layered process that takes about a week AFTER they tell you conrgrats you have been approved then try them. I wasted my time, endured a lot of frustration as my current comp is dying, and finally just ordered from Amazon. My new comp arrives Monday which is the earliest these people might be able to send it out. Do yourself a favor and skip these people unless you have no other option; but in my opinion even buying from Kijiji would beat buying from these folks. I also fee rather stupid for giving them all the information I did. Now they have my bank credentials and acct info, drivers license, next of kin etc. TOO intrusive.
