And on top of this even if I could cancel my order and then reorder I do not have access for my account number or order numbers to accomplish your suggestion.

How can I track my order then? How do I find out if it's been shipped or an expected delivery date? I'm not sure what a reasonable amount of time should pass for delivery before I should dispute the charges on my credit card.

Larry,

Thank you for your email. I apologize, but I am not able to make changes to an order after it's been placed. If you need to make a change to your order, the order would need to be cancelled, if possible, and you would need to place a new order. Please note, we cannot guarantee cancellation of any order.

Please let me know if you would like the order cancelled. Once I receive a response from you, I would be happy to assist you further.

Trusses
January 8, 2023

In the summer of 2022 I order bonus room rafters from Menards with a delivery date of June 3rd. On the morning of June 3rdi received a call from the truss company stating there was a, "design issue". Expecting trusses to be delivered that day I had rented a telehandler forklift to set the trusses. I was NOT HAPPY to say the least. I had to redesign my building plan and reorder trusses, this set me back 27 days.
On June 30th I received the new trusses and planned on seeing and bracing them the next day. Everything APPEARED to be fine while they were bundle together. The next day we set the trusses (13) one at a time. After getting the trusses set and braced I could tell something wasn't quite right. I climbed up and began plaining across the top chords with an 8' level. There was not a consistent spot anywhere. I then painted the bottom chords and found huge differences as well. Every surface needed repairs and modifications. I immediately contacted my local store and was told to take photos and email them in. I did this and didn't receive any reply. With Monday being the 4th of July I knew the soonest u would hear anything would be Tuesday the 5th. I was planning on working Saturday and getting started with roof sheeting but at this point I was ONCE AGAIN put behind schedule by no fault of my own. I finally went into the store on Wednesday the 6th and made the local store rep come out and see for himself what I was dealing with. After some discussion with the rep and the truss company I was told they would cover any materials and I would be reimbursed for my time. Menards did goober the material cost, but the truss company would only cover$1000 of the labor cost of $2600. I told them it would cost them alot more to remove the trusses, remake the trusses and then pay for resetting the trusses and the still wouldn't budge. I'm still fighting with them about this and feel they should pay the full amount that is owed. I know they will lose if I take them to court and also will have to reimburse me for my court/ lawyer fees and my personal time. The truss company has extremely poor customer relations. I've since moved 1800 miles away and will charge them double time if they choose to go to court over this matter. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND not using Menards or their truss company as they don't back their products apparently.
Oh and they want to send the settlement in a credit, they don't even have does where I now live. Such bull$#*!. Use a building supply compensation for trusses and screw them.

This company has no morals
December 12, 2022

If you are unaware take note that Menards has an F rating with the Better Business Bureau and has more than 150 pages of complaints in a two-year period. There is ABSOLUTELY NO IN CORPORATE CUSTOMER SERVICE that you can speak to. Long story short an employee error of ringing a credit cost me $650. I spoke to someone in the corporate office who works for John Menard Junior this 82 year old CEO. She said the only way to file a complaint is true an email or their website. I told her I did that as well as going to in speaking with numerous store managers only to be turned away. When I told her what happened she said that people cannot fix the problem because if they did they would have lost their job. She said John Menard Junior is the CEO and he sets the rules and there's employees they are paid to follow them. She assured me even though I filed numerous online complaints and sent an email there was no way that error would be corrected. She outright said the problem was just as much my fault as it was the employees. I told her I wanted to email John Menard Junior. She said oh no he is very old fashion and does not use computers. She says he's 82 years old and refuses to retire and comes to work regularly. She said he reads every single letter that he receives. I asked how he could do that when their customer service rating is an F wouldn't he be reading letters 24 hours a day. She said " We are well aware of our F rating with the Better Business Bureau, that doesn't mean anything that's just a place for people to write an opinion". I said well then maybe I should write a letter to John Menard Junior for him to read. She said I guarantee you he will read it but I'm not saying that he would do anything about your complaint. She told me she loved her job and the company she worked for. I told her I felt sorry for her, she is obviously brainwashed. I will not ever spend a penny at Menards and I will do everything in my power to ask everyone I know to stop making John Menard Junior richer than he already is. He is worth $18.4 BILLION. I pointed that out to her and she said, that's right and he makes the rules and we follow them. She did tell me that even though I sent emails and filed complaint forms I should know that the problem that I described would not ever be resolved

Former MIT Manager IN Training I was fired unfairly
August 29, 2022

I heard Flood at work at Menard's and I knew it was time to quit It is a song by Jars of Clay a Christian band and nothing about this company is Christian, ethical moral or honest. The quality and service, I will admit, is great. But only when the manager is following guidelines and procedures. Often they are like Michelle the gay man child girl in Hardware with funky colored hair and roll their eyes at me so i know IF she is rolling her eyes at me, God only knows how she treats our Menard's Guests. I would never be mean to a gay person like Adam I assume is Bi but if he is Straight and I am wrong that is cool too. I have never asked him but he probably dates men or women or both. And I do not care because he is a kind person, helpful and focuses for the most part on his job and not drama like Christians. He knows I am a Christian so he does make sly comments about how we are in a cult or Jesus Christ in blasphemy which i get... he is trying to get a rise out of me but I cannot go there. Unlike Adam, Kat (former Cab/Apps manager) and Michelle the assistant Manager in Hardware are not a good fit for Menard's. Both are condescending to guests and rude even to other workers. They complain constantly and if I hate one thing more than anything, my pet peeve at work is someone complaining that they have a great job making good money at a great company like Menard's! She does not scream Hardware like Collin with the Jeep and the beard does. She is a tomboy pretending to be a man and that just comes off as phony especially when she wont even help other employees probably maybe just me because she saw that I am a Jesus Freak and that offends Gay people because Jesus was kind of the Spirit that made all things male and female he created them not Trans and Gay and Bi those were not words until Sodom and Gomorrah. So maybe me and Michelle just cant work together but not because she is Gay. I can and have and love working with gay people. They are organized and clean and sometimes hilarious i have noticed in my various careers in management.
Jars of Clay I hear Flood... and I go back to Cedarville pole table rec room with who i thought would be my later wife, Emily, early childhood ed major dancing with me to the rhythm of the pole table and the music. They are a Christian band full of truth and orchestral sounds and that does not belong in a place of like Menards which not only is not Chik Fil A or a Christian University but not even a non profit or a Christian company. It rubbed me the wrong way because I know what had just been done to me unfairly as i was railroaded for 3 reasons that they gave as to my demotion from Manager in Training to just a Full Time Building Materials worker.

I worked with ONLY Gossips at Cuyahoga Falls because it was a slow store so instead of hiring less people they hire too many people called Blueberries gossips that congregate together and make fun of bad guests and it gets old frankly. I love to stay busy and this store was anything but busy. And you can make yourself busy by doing Freight or making sure all bintags are on the products and correctly placed. But most people just stand around and complain about guests instead of finding something profitable to do and it drove me insane because I could not force people to work because I was not yet technically a manager. And then when guests need help most managers i notice begrudgingly helped but with attitude or would tell me... you do it Justin you help them because we do not get commission so unless you actually love people and love your enemies and most people simply hate others to put it blunt. I actually love people even my now enemies Menard's Management specifically Nicole who got me fired for a mistake SHE FREAKING MADE! I love Nick still he seems real but they both railroaded me for things Gene and Nicole did wrong or if it is wrong to leave early then what am I supposed to do when my department or GM like Gene mostly he was the one that cared most about Payroll. Tells me to go home. Am I supposed to say NO I will talk to corporate because you are going to use this against me later. I did not have a crystal ball and know that you guys do this to vet people not because the store is actually losing money but to see who is in your opinion lazy sloths. I thought the store was so slow it wanted to save money as a business decision Lord knows as a business owner that is what I would have done is send those home that need not be there because every $#*!ING penny counts but Menards lives in money grows on tree land or likes to play both sides of the game... They (Gene Tony Kara Fata Aric all but Shelly she never did) tell you to go home and then blame you for going home talk about being set up for failure the company is like evil or something I could see it in Nicole's eyes that woman like works directly for Lucifer She may give birth to the antichrist he would be really lazy and sit at a desk all day and never actually do anything you need them to do or screw it up when they try she is incompetent and the reason I was fired was moron NICOLE!. I was told in every department from initially Flooring by Tony to leave early because we are slow and Payroll is needing to be cut back because the store is dead. So I left early often thinking i was doing what i was doing which was helping the company save money for extra employees that need not be there with NO guests or virtually no guests in the store or at least in said department I was in. And then in Wall Coverings it was less applicable because there is always something to do in the paint and pet and food department. In fact I wish I was Kara I could do her job so much better than her. She seems hungover everyday and there is a lot or work I could do to make that department shine like it should for guests but they seem to love her slow unwise decisions. She walks around like she went out partying the night before and someone tell me i am wrong but that woman is a drunk! She seems lost and hungover every day. I got fired because I was an MIT Manager in Training and was in Quad 3 about to go into Quad 4 but Nicole made a huge mistake and put me in Quad 4 schedule but I had only done 1 week in OPD Quad 3 so I needed more training and more Fork Lift training particularly which means I MUST SHADOW not Tony but Sherry and Tony was the one i was shadowing when I supposedly left early but I did not. I just did what Gene told me to do! He told me news to me that Tony too is a manager which surprised me because he seems flustered often on the computer and is a bit slow no offense implied but his age and wit and sharpness is fading and you can tell except when he is on the forklift IN HIS ELEMENT and ironically he could not train me because it had to be Sherry so I said I guess I am shadowing a slow man which is fine. And we left at the same time because Gene told me to shadow him because he too is a manager. This is all true and the fact that I was demoted for Nicoles mistake is hilarious to me. You guys should be ashamed of your decision making skills and processes. Menards is so freaking Disorganized. Look at their website try to navigate it on your own with no help! Good Luck! It is one of the worst websites I have ever seen in my professional and academic career.

I passed the Fork lift written test but needed more training in the real world but ONLY OPD head manager Sherry can shadow me on Forklift. So the day that I supposedly left early insubordination is a load of crap because I asked Chase and Gene what was going on and they said it was Nicole's scheduling mistake and to work in OPD even though you are in Building Materials on the payroll and the schedule is shadowing Chase but you are not really shadowing Chase you are really shadowing no one because Sherry has a different schedule than Chase so Gene said just shadow the other person that came in when YOU did Tony and I said yeah but Tony is not a manager and he said verbatim yes he is so just shadow him and leave when he leaves I did and then get called a liar and not listening to Sherry. When I asked her to leave early it was 11 am and I meant then obviously right then leaving at 1 was not to my confused understanding EARLY because Nicole $#*!ed up the schedule and so Gene said Shadow Tony from 6-1 like he is and I said I am 6-2 and sherry is 7-3 so who do I shadow and he said Tony is a manager you are cool! PERIOD! I dont know how to be more clear that this was Nicole and not my fault but she still has her cushy job sitting on her $#*! all day making mistakes and getting paid well for making mistakes constantly this was not the only one there were many! I came in on a day with a schedule that really was in Building Materials and that is why my name was on their flat screen board but i still knew i needed another week in OPD so I shadowed Tony after asking Gene if I should leave for the day because Sherry is not here today and he said just shadow Tony he TOO is a manager which up till then i did not know so i was like cool he can help forklift train me so i am ready after these 6 more days in OPD to be Licensed but then he said I cannot do that Only sherry can do that! And then an hr later she came in so that was cool and i would have gotten more Forklift training but she thought i went behind her back and just left early on purpose to spite or disrespect her and so I got canned a few hrs later for all a mistake in communication and schedule error all nicoles fault not my own. The 7 points i own but I bet other MITs have had 7 points when they became an assistant manager just saying if not then the policy is way too $#*!ing strict just saying... And I was supposed to be shadowing Sherry but because of Nicole's Mistake I got fired for leaving at the time when Tony left because his schedule was 6-1 and my schedule was 6-2 but IN Building Materials so when Gene told me to Shadow Tony that meant that was now 6-1 but was told I was insubordinate for leaving early but it was a miscommunication caused by HR Nicole and her mistake NOT mine and I suffered and was kicked out of the MIT program thanks to her. That is unfair and frankly it makes me not want to even shop at Menards because they are liars and gossips and most are lazy. They say they are devoted to service and quality. I will say they have better customer service than say Walmart but the bar is set low when I say that. They love to pretend to be all about the guests but when you hear how they talk on the mics that guests cannot hear (oh yes btw they call them guests like we are welcoming them into a fake home or something it is a bit c itchy and phony but i also got it and kinda liked it but really we want them to be customers that buy $#*! not guests that take their shoes off and jump on our Seally Matresses and then leave with no merchandise or worse steal our copper wire and or dog collars). The store needs a better security system. Everything about this store felt like it was 1980s and I have a degree in Electronic Media from a State of the Art school that understands like MIT that security is everything and theft is a big problem in stores like Lowes and Home Depot but Menards does not address it head on like Lowe's does. Home Depot is equally $#*! on security i will admit that.
They have great prices and price match at Menard's all great features and they research what is selling and what is not to find quality items home owners actually want to by and I respect that immensely as a "guest". There are many things I still love about this store. But people specific people in it are not good at their jobs or are just out to get others like catty $#*!. Their customer service on paper is amazing calling everyone a guest is a bit cheesy but I get the atmosphere they are trying to garner. The problem is secretly I heard all the stuff managers and team members ACTUALLY say about customers and guests behind their backs and it is almost always negative and that $#*! gets discouraging because I want to be like Paul and think the best of people to be LOVE Patient, Kind, Merciful, thinking the best of people finding the good in every $#*! situation the silver lining, forgiving all wrongs, holding no account of evil in say a diary journal or in the workplace in a tardiness report, Love keeps NO RECORD of wrongs but Menard's keeps all records of wrongs like it is Scientology Crimes Department. It is like we do not even want to make sales and the customer is never right at Menard's secretly on the Mics. But of course the guests cannot hear what we are actually thinking or saying about them behind their backs which is called Gossip Karen $#*! and I hated being even near it let alone a part of it. I would never say some of the things that managers and even Tavian and Gene (the GMs) said things I would never say about people to or behind their backs. Nick was very professional or at least I thought so until he canned me unfairly I was literally shocked 7 points is somehow unforgiveable or unchangeable. Instead of giving me a chance to prove I want the Management Job, they said $#*! you get out of here like I was trash. And Ironically the person at fault for 1 of the 3 reasons they gave for firing me from the MIT program was IN THE ROOM and I said you did it Nicole and luckily she told the truth but it did not matter... they did not care that she was the reason I left "early to them" the whole thing was disorgranized and confusing like the store and the website in general antiquated like an antique shop with a million confusing links but none of them work on the website what a joke I went to University to study how to make websites RIGHT this store showed me how some take shortcuts and are lazy and do them all kinds of wrong... Panera Bread now that is a website Menards is a child making arts and crafts vs Monet and Van Gogh and Picasso I appreciate the down to earth real true grit of people in Home Stores but the phony hypocrisy of being this to this man and a totally different person in front of the guests was frankly disgusting and made me throw up literally a few times. It was kismet that 2 hours later after watching Nick drink his regular red bull and i down my yellow one we had to face off and I told only the truth. They told many lies. I was there to be demoted from the MIT program for having 7 points 6 of which I deserved and not to make it too long of a story but neither were NO CALL NO SHOWS I would never do that. One was I went to Chik Fil A like an idiot and waited in life for literally 48 minutes and was an hour late to work (3 points) the second one was simple I was working a turn around I worked 10-8 sunday which is really like 10-8:45 depending on the amount of guests and then had to come in at 5:30 and I could not sleep from stress that night and did not fall asleep till 3:30 am and when my alarm went off at 4:15 i must have not snoozed but instead banged it with my fist. I woke up at 8 to see Tavian giving a really hippy like Woah Dude where is my car just kinda wondering where you are man? And most MOST people would just stay home because either way you get 3 points it is like this 1 hr late 3 points NO CALL NO SHOW 3 points and come in on time but leave sick after 1 hour of work NO POINTS in what universe does that make sense to policy makers? No call no show should be given like 5 points or 3 and the other ones like hr late given just 2 or 1 and 1/2 something that is fair that makes logical sense but nothing about Menards was logical or organized they have links that do not work and other links that lead to the exact same site... I was a web designer you fools need help whoever is your web designer never graduated high school!
On to greener grass I hope and if not it cannot be much worse than the HR and Gene and Tavian at Menards Cuyahoga Falls I will say I still have respect for many people there. Even Nic who fired me I respect still NOT Nicole for she threw me under the bus for her mistakes which is making me salty a bit and Tavian is a fatass lazy fool and Gene is a bit too true grit raw and not professional enough in my opinion to be a great GM number 1 But Nic has it he has the best of both grit and professionalism. The company is a good company but it needs some better people working there that care about and love people and love their enemies. I thought I was gonna be one of them in Kent but they closed the door in my face for having 2 late shows. I never no called no showed but I still got canned just for being late 2x and getting a point for taking too long a break but not long enough lunch LOL that is another policy that screams of idiocy. You can take a 8-15 minute break paid If you just take 7 it will not let you clock back in and if you take a 16 like I did actually i took a 21 but a 16-21 counts as a late break and you get a point for that instead of just taking out 16 to 21 points as appropriate and just calling it a short lunch and taking out a few less minutes but OH NO that would be smart and wise and kind and make logical sense we cannot have that that would just not be confusing enough

Never buy a kit building from Menards!
December 4, 2021

About the first of September, I ordered a 16x24 garage kit from the NW Menards in Wichita, KS. From the day of delivery the nightmare began.
We began to realize that some of what was on the order weren't delivered and some items delivered weren't on the order! After much frustration, I asked for someone to come out and look the situation over and bring what was supposed to be delivered, and take back the stuff that wasn't on the order! Of course, they couldn't do that!
The first real major problem was that we were short two rafters. When I called I was told it would take 4-6 weeks to have them ready! We ended up making our own. Later on, when it was time to place them and deck the roof, we discovered that they were made with the worst lumber they could find on location, I guess. They were extremely crooked and it was a battle to get them lined up correctly.
I could go on and on about the extra trips, the worthless apologies, and an attitude that we just don't freaking care!
Today, I just returned over $1,300 dollars of unused material. Some items were like the gutters. I decided to go seamless. I also returned the two walk-in doors I had ordered. I had been told by two other contractors that they have had nothing but trouble with doors from Menards.
Once the assistant manager started going through all the junk, he began to realize the true extent of the screwups! The doors I just mentioned were supposed to be identical. It turned out that one of them was a special order door. I can't really say what I was supposed to get, but they were to be the same door. There was a $70 difference between the two. At least the manager accepted the return on the special order one.
Then, they delivered 1x6 metal facia trim, but the kit called for 2x6. There were supposed to be only 9 of them, but when they counted what I brought back there were 12! There were other smaller discrepancies, but this assistant manager was beginning to get the picture that I had a legitimate beef with Menards. But each time he started to utter an apology I verbally slapped him down by saying your apologies just don't cut it!
As I was waiting through the whole process, people were walking by and seeing all that was going on. I kept telling people that they should never buy a building kit from Menards!
I will never enter another Menards the rest of my life!

Below are examples of the crooked studs they sent. I admit I had a choice to return them, but this is just an example to prove they sent me some of the worst they could and that the rafters were indeed made badly.

Manager locked us in the property and called police for not wearing a mask at back curbside gate!
October 18, 2020

Total discrimination. They've lost my business for life. My company has been a customer of Menards for over 5 years and we've spent upwards of $100,000 over that course of time on building materials, etc. The quality of products (particularly lumber) has always been pretty subpar, but we deal with it to 'shop local'. However, a recent experience with one of their managers, Mike Likes, was without question THE WORST EXPERIENCE I've EVER had at any store ever.

My partner and I have a legal exemption to face coverings under Section 8(a) of MN EO 20-81, and since Menards is so discriminatory against this, I must pay extra to have orders brought to the back gate. However, on their website, there is no way to apply a business's tax-exempt code. So, we placed our order over the phone (and informed Mike of our mask exemption and that we would not be able to wear a mask) and were told by Mike that when we came to pick it up, we would need to come in to the desk at the back gate and show ID to prove identity with regard to the tax-exempt code. When we arrived we were directed by staff to go in to the back counter to talk to Mike.

Immediately upon arrival, Mike rudely and AGGRESSIVELY rushed us and demanded we put on a mask as he pulled masks from his pocket. Before we could even explain that we had just spoken to him on the phone and were instructed to come to the desk, he very hostily told us to leave and not return. He pretended that he had no idea what we were there for and acted like we had not JUST spoken on the phone.

We calmly told him why we were there and that we needed to get the items we paid for before we could leave. His next step was to call 911!
Within 45 seconds of being there, he had already called the police! Totally insane!
He then told us to walk through the store to the front, even though we weren't wearing masks, contradicting his own policy. To which we declined.
We were taken aback by his aggression and wildly offensive behavior and asked for the order so we could leave. He continued to escalate the situation so we asked for the name of his superior, which he refused to give. We told him we'd be in touch with corporate, that he just lost our business, and proceeded to leave. He became increasingly enraged.

But wait, it gets MUCH WORSE. As we were leaving, Mike rushed out after us, taking photos of our truck. He then ordered the nice girl at the gate to close and lock the gate to prevent us from leaving the property that he just told us to leave. HE LOCKED US IN! Along with a line of about 3 or 4 other vehicles trying to leave!
According to one of the 4 officers that eventually showed up, Mike apparently told them that we had threatened to break down the gate! Which we most certainly said no such thing. We are local business owners and wouldn't dream of conducting ourselves in such a way! Because of Mike's falsification of facts, the police sped in and approached us very aggressively until they realized it was just us.

Mike not only treated us terribly but put his employees and other customers in danger with his immature, aggressive, reckless behavior. Had Mike acted this way with someone half as crazy as him, or made fabricated claims of threats to trigger-happy police the way he lied to our local police (who, thankfully, are responsible officers) that situation could have ended very badly. I am still completely flabbergasted by the experience and blown away that Menards would find it acceptable to endanger the safety of employees and customers over discriminatory, pseudoscientific, logic-less policies.

As a result of this experience, Home Depot has just earned our $1500 expenditure for the supplies we came to Menards for. If this was my business, Mike would be terminated immediately. Many other contractors we work with have also had very poor things to say about Menards and Mike in particular, and say they shop elsewhere when possible. We will NEVER shop here again. Lima Ohio store impresses
August 25, 2020

On August 9th, we had the need to purchase treated lumber for a deck we were trying to finish. We live near and usually visit the Fort Wayne stores, so we have ample things to compare to. A phone call started the visit, when my husband called the Lima, Ohio store to see if they even had what we needed, because we could not source locally. The gentlemen on the phone was more than helpful in going thru our list to confirm that they did have what we needed. We then decided to take the 1 1/2 hour drive to purchase the wood. Upon arrival, we were totally blown away. The store was spotless, carts were neatly lined up, appeared to be very clean and did not stick together when pulling out one, floors were clean and shiny, product on the shelves were neatly organized and labeled. We asked an employee for directions to the contractors desk and she was more than happy to stop working and tell us. At the contractors desk, we were yet greeted by another gentlemen who was more than helpful in filling our order. One of the boards that we needed were sold in the length of time that we had driven there, which did not surprise us, but he went through and looked to see they had the same board only 4 foot longer and could we use that. Since the price was minimal and the boards were in such demand, we took the longer ones. We both used the restrooms, which of course were very clean. The girl in the guard shack going to the yard was extremely helpful and very friendly. Once inside the yard, we proceeded to the building where some of the lumber was at. My husband started to load the wood on our list. A young gentlemen finished helping an older gentlemen to load his trailer and bounced over to help my husband. He was very charismatic (I do not use that lightly). Jumped in and helped pull the wood from the upper deck that was needed. Carried on a very educated conversation and made sure every board was straight and not a ton of knots. Part of the order was outside. He directed by husband where to go and told him he would be right there. He was, before by husband even got out of the truck. He started to help pull the flat deck boards and then noticed the approaching storm and asked my husband how many 4 X 6 boards he needed. He went down a good 500' pulled the other lumber and him and another young boy carried them back to our truck. Finished up pulling the deck boards, all of which were very straight and of really good quality. All the while, my husband said he felt very safe from the Covid virus. I seldom ever leave reviews on a store, mainly because of employees. On leaving the yard, both my husband and myself commented on how nice it was to shop in a place like this and how friendly and helpful everyone was. As we came around the corner of the building to leave, all of the lift trucks were parked in tight, to fit under the roof of the lumber and to keep them out of the impending weather. We both work for the company that services the trucks and commented that this is probably why we don't get lame calls from here. This store in Lima, Ohio has it together. Thumbs up, best place we have shopped by far in quite some time. Their employees seem to have that much needed caring attitude, which is hard to find now days. We would certainly make that drive again if needed.

Customer Service Extremely Poor
April 5, 2020

As if we aren't under enough stress with Covid-19, I have to deal with an extremely rude customer service lady today: The lady's name started with a "B" and she had bleached blond hair; although when I complained to an assistant manager and he asked me to describe her and the color of her hair, I told him "Red. All I saw was red!" Red, because I was incensed at her behavior and the fact she lied to me 3 times in my face! I came all the way from the West Side of Cincinnati to go to the Menard's in Evendale. Not having checked their website, I get there to find out they only were letting in 16 yo and above. Fortunately, both girls I had with me recently turned 16 (my granddaughter and her friend). As I get upstairs to shop for the items I was looking for the girls, looking 2 isles over from me, got approached by "B," the bleach blond. She asked to see their driver's license. They told her they didn't have one. She follows them over to where I was and said they needed to leave the store because they said they weren't 16 (the girls got to me before her and had already told me she had asked for a driver's license). I told her that was NOT what the girls said, and that she only asked if they had a driver's license, which they responded "no" to, and that was all she asked and that was all they answered "no" to. She said, "No, they told me they weren't 16." I said, "NO, they did not! You asked if they had a driver's license and they said they did not." This went on for about 10 minutes, when she told me they needed to leave the store because they couldn't produce a license, and she was just trying to keep them safe. As I told her, we all were wearing a mask and had on gloves, so I thought it was obvious I was trying to keep them safer than she was. As if this entire pandemic is not stressful enough, now we have a store who won't let you in with 16 year olds, because they don't have a driver's license! I asked the Assistant Manger (who I went to complain to about his rude employer), "How many 16 year olds have a license? #1, my insurance rate would skyrocket once I allow my granddaughter (who I raise) to get her license, whether she drives or not, because insurance companies charge you based on the fact that, if your kid gets their license, they are going to most likely be driving. #2, I told him, I, personally, wouldn't let my 16 year old get a license, because I don't think most are responsible enough to drive at that age (just my personal opinion). So, as I told him, based on that most 16 year olds will not be able to enter your store, because a majority of 16 year olds don't have their license yet. The stress level is high enough without now not being able to take your child to the store with you. One of the reasons we went there, was so she could shop for a new ceiling light for her room. But, it is also totally unacceptable to have to argue with an employee about whether you want to believe the kids I have with me were 16 or not, based on the fact they don't have a driver's license? And you want to outright lie to me multiple times, telling me that the girls told here they weren't 16, when what was simply ansered "no" to, was the question you asked about whether they had a license. THAT was your question! So, even when life goes back to normal, the likelihood of shopping at Menard's will be quite low, as I think there will be other stores who can offer the same product, without dealing with poor and very rude customer service.

False advertising, unethical business practices, misleading returns policy, poor customer service
February 7, 2020

I used to live near a Menards store and had purchased their Old Mill brand lined jeans and was very satisfied with them. I now live far from a store location but wanted additional pairs. So I looked online and found the same manufacturer and style number product advertised on Menards website. So I ordered 2 pair of the same style number and size. Upon receipt, there was no manufacturer name or product tag anywhwere on the jeans, also the signature "M" stitching on the back pockets was missing. Additionally, they were not even made from the same materials and did not fit the same either. One pair was over 3" to big while the other pair was about 2" too big. Upon reaching ut to the customer service department to arrange a return I was met with rude email responses and told that contrary to their posted returns policy I would be charged return/restocking fees. After going back and forth countless times with the customer service rep, and explaining how the product received was not as advertised, not made by the same mfg, not made from the same materials, and not the same fit or quality as those previously purchased from their store, or as advertised on their website... I was told that I recieved what I ordered, that it was a difference in manufacturing, and was no fault of theirs and I could either return them for a partial refund, or keep them.
This was like being told that the Pair of Nike shoes I ordered and received without the Nike name or Branded "Swoosh" on the product anywhwere was still a Nike product and was just a difference in mfg! Like receiving a pair of Levis or Wrangler jeans without the Levis/Wrangler tag or signature pocket stitching on them anywhere was still the same product... BOLOGNA!
They are selling cheap knock-offs advertised as name brand products at name brand prices!
When asked to be passed up to a member of management, the CS reps' email tone changed and was then appeared as helpful... WRONG! I was misleadingly being appeased until I shipped the return back... then was basically told "Too Bad"!
I was charged over $24 to receive a falsely advertised product and to return it because I couldn't even wear them, and they were not what I had satisfactorily purchased previously! Menards engages in unethical business practices and should be boycotted by all consumers so they receive their just deserves and go out of business!"

Easy Peasy

Cheaper than Home Depot. Pick-up isn't REAL convenient at my store but ordering is easy.
