The overall reputation of OfferUp is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and account management issues. Users frequently report abrupt account deactivations without clear explanations, along with challenges in resolving disputes and obtaining refunds. Additionally, many customers express frustration with the app's glitches and the prevalence of fraudulent listings. While some users have had positive experiences with transactions, these are overshadowed by the negative sentiments surrounding the platform's reliability and support. The need for improved communication and user-friendly processes is evident to enhance overall customer experience.

I was trying to purchase a washer & dryer and refrigerator on OfferUp, and after putting in several offers to different sellers, I never got a response. I'm not sure why someone would post something, then not respond to potential buyers. This service does not seem legitimate. My experience has not been good, so I will be looking elsewhere.
Hello.
I'm terribly sorry to bother you with this, but I need to know. Your logo is now a rainbow. I'm a disabled navy vet. You didn't change your logo for memorial day or veterans day. I'm catholic. You don't put Christian logo's up. I'm German and English. You don't put up German or British flag logo's.
So why do you only put up the rainbow logo? I realize it's pride month. As a white, Christian Catholic, a straight man, and military veteran, the rainbow flag Logo offends me. I have put plenty of money in your pockets over the past several years, but apparently I offered you. I'm disappointed that my values and opinions mean little to nothing to you.
I guess you're " Woke " now, and only care about what's popular at the moment. I sell on here because my military disability is miniscule, and I try to make extra money to survive. I'm not on here to genuflect to your Woke causes.
There are thousands of items on here that offend me and plenty of others, yet you allow it, not to be Woke, but because you profit from it.
I'm disappointed in you, OfferUp.
I was a user of Offerup.com. I sold couches. I used their "Promotion Plus" option. They were quick to take my money and slow to post my item as a promotion. Not that that made a difference.
In my opinion, the "Promotional Plus" is a scam. All you get for the 19.99 a month is the word "promoted" pasted across your item's picture. It does not give you preferred placement, you are not at the top of the page. I had 2 couches that used Promote Plus and I couldn't find them on the site.
When I tried to contact Offerup I had to go to the "help" page. Good luck with that!
I wish I had read the reviews of "Offerup" before I had posted my products with them.
If you are going to post with Offerup, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT use "Promotional Plus."
As I said, I believe it to be a scam, a way to get money out of the users of Offerup.
I have posted 2 pictures as proof of my claim. The first one is of the items I used "Promotional Plus" with. The second one is the first page of "Offerup" and as you can (or can't) see only one of my items has preferential placement. I can't find the other 2 items.
I have two complaints. The app is supposed to let you know when you have a response about an item by showing a number by the Icon, such as a 1 for one message or 2 for two messages, etc. The problem is that the number remains there even after you've looked at and responded to the message so its impossible to tell if you have new ones or if the old number is still there.
The second problem is that its a fertile ground for scammers. People list items for a ridiculously LOW price and ask that you respond to their email rather than through the app because "they're listing for a relative (or friend)" or because they can't get messages through the app. They do not have anything to sell, they just want your email address. It is usually a car (a 2015 Lexus for $1,200, etc.) and there will only be one photo. I often go on and report them and can easily find 45-50 scam ads for cars. Offerup seems to do nothing to stop this.
Offer up sucks! Never signed up for a monthly subscription. I got charged for two months for no reason.
Offer up support doesn't do Nothing on reported scammers! I buy fix and sell Motorcycles and encounter Scammers along the way "Selling a Motorcycle of 10k for 1k" but they never sell it is obvious that they have no intention to sell in fact they don't have the Bike! Offer up fail in keep this site safe for the buyers...
Made offer of 100.00 plus the shipping, for Aladdin oil lamp and shade, offer was taken, payment sent, the oil lamp, burner, chimney arrived ok, however, the fragile shade was packaged shabbily and broken in tons of pieces, I immediately, contacted the seller, she tried to say file a claim, which I tried to with usps, their reply in letter and took directly to post office in person for inspection, was no damage to box so usps denied, I was back a forth with seller as well as I contacted customer service, no refunds of any kind, from seller or offer up. Seller tried to say she'd send a new ugly shade if I paid addition shipping. This is clearly a rip off. I could send all our text conversations as she said the lamp alone was worth more or I could sell for what I paid, for that alone, I didn't purchase for resell. I purchased what you saw in pic, A complete oil lamp with glass shade, I clearly received 1/2 my order not broken, the other part a shade damaged beyond repair, the shade was left at usps for her to deal with. Nothing no more responses from her for refund. Offer up said I have to deal with seller. All emails saved all conversations saved.
$#*!ty $#*!ty $#*!ty
Still $#*!ty
You really want me to say $#*!ty over & over & over
Still $#*!ty work. Period
Erased all my previous purchases which I needed for tax purposes, most of my saved items and most of my conversations. Erased MANY hours of research and time. They also need to boot items that are years old.
There is no oversight here. The only target and objective to spend money. Neither offerup or sellers care for "timely service"
The battle starts once you are charged. You will enter into a nebula with a black hole right at the center sucking you numb.
Don't waste your time with this site. It has become a car dealers page. Car dealers are more likely to use the pay to play service so they get the majority of views. If I search for a throw pillow I shouldn't get a list of cars for sale near me.
This once was a site for local buying and selling.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Im getting posts from 3 to 4 years ago. I tried contacting offer up to no avail. Waste of my time!
LOOK ELSEWHERE FOR A SELLING PLATFORM! Terrible. Out of nowhere all of my listings look like they are posted but are not. They don't show up in search and are getting 0 views (high demand items). I am a 5 star Tru You seller and have been using this to supplement my income for months and with no notice or reason I am shadow banned? Ridiculous. Update: customer service says I was banned for saying that I accept cash/zelle/cashapp/venmo in my listings. Nowhere does it say that is prohibited. How else are we supposed to get paid for local sales? I prefer cash but many customers ask to pay digitally (hello, we are in 2021 afterall). Type "cash or zelle" in offerup search and you will find hundreds of highly rated sellers saying the same in their listings. And the shadowban was without warning, no notice... just let me keep posting listings that go nowhere. I have asked their support as to why I cannot say what payments I accept and they will not respond to me. Unprofessional. Avoid at all costs!
I bought a treadmill for 300 dollars got home immediately stopped working. TRIED TO REVIEW THE PERSON WHO HAS FULL STARS AND THEY WONT LET ME... OTHER PEOPLE WILL GET SCAMMED AND OFFER UP DOES NOTHINF AT LEAST EBAY WILL CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT
Offer up cannot keep up with 1980s network and 1990s apps to let people set up to meet and not deliver the messages that are required to let people meet. USE phone number instead of your stupid must use your crap equipment and network. So I sat for over an hour at an apartment complex after telling the seller I was there, and he never got the message. 20 minutes after I left, he gets the message that I was there. There is absolutely NO known reason how a system can be that bad. DO NOT USE.
The very day that Offer Up merged and jettisoned Let Go, cost me a $300 sale on my outside bar. I was to meet someone that day, but could never get in touch with them again.
Since offer up has taken over I have had only 2 inquiries. I have deleted Offer Up, as I find their service very much below expectancy! RZ 5/21/21
Offerup collects interest the longer they hold your money when you sell. Do you guys think that's right? They collect interest on money that's not theirs. They tell you "you will receive your money in 5 business days" and it's day 25, so they're 20 days late but they're making money. They have a history of this on consumer affairs, trust pilot and the BBB. They're not only screwing buyers over. They're also screwing over the sellers who are the ones that pay offerup employees bills. Surely a scam. I noticed they do this more ever since they bought out letgo. Eliminate their competition so they can screw sellers over. Hopefully mercari doesn't give in. Offerup's CEO doesn't have enough money to buy ebay, amazon or facebook so that's a good thing. I will be contacting the buyers and telling them to file a chargeback claim. I would rather have them get their money back and keep the product vs having offerup keep the money
I bought an apple watch today on offer up. The seller accepted the offer and then said he was gonna start the shipping process. He later messaged me and said that he had a problem collecting the money! Mind you. I have a receipt and online banking saying otherwise. So aggravated. I can't cancel it and he keep saying that he can't cancel it the system won't let him... I hate people who steal... its so aggravating and is giving off broke vibes... I emailed support... nothing I will never order from here again..
Got scammed on a graphics card. Wrote the support team a couple of weeks ago and the scammer is still up and scamming away! Everyone should just know that you are on your own when you use this site!
I purchased a phone on May 7 the seller created a label for shipping but never shipped. I have been trying to message support for days Everytime I hit send some sort of error message comes up and I am unable to send my message. I paid $90.16 for a phone I will never receive. It looks like Offer up has scammed me out of my money and there is nothing I can do about it
Answer: No limit to how many items you can post. To delete the post. Just click on offers. Them there will be a mark as sold button, edit button, then next to that is a button with 3 dots. Click that. Then click archive. Done. No affiliation
