On the classified ads section I posted a trombone for sale. A buyer emerged, who turned out to be a scam artist. This is the second time it has happened with OTJ.com.
Here's how it goes down:
1. Buyer agrees to buy the instrument at the asking price.
2. Buyer sends "money orders" or "cashiers checks" (this time on Wells Fargo) for more than the asking price.
3. Buyer pressures to have the instrument sent to an address.
4. Buyer asks the vendor to refund the excess money--scam cash--to another site.
Both times it was so blatant that I caught it, but gullible souls will be sucked in.
