I paid £1590 for a sideboard described by PIB, Paris as "solid walnut". The furniture is actually at least 60% fibreboard or MDF. I explained to PIB that this misadvertising is a breach of EU and UK trading laws but they continue to advertise this furniture the same way. They defended the MDF content by claiming that it is helpful for keeping the furniture stable!

I asked for 30% refund, which I thought was fair, given the MDF content. They offered 15% and then increased it to 20%. MDF if basically sawdust mixed with glue and then compressed into board. It is extremely cheap and is usually found in cheap furniture e.g. IKEA. PIB, Paris present themselves as selling high-end furniture but in fact it is not as advertised.

Whilst I am grateful for the 20% refund, it in no way compensates fairly the intentional misleading of the public that PIB still perpetrates without conscience. A 50% refund and an immediate revision of their advertising to include the phrase "this furniture is made of 60% MDF" would be fair. I'm writing reviews basically to warn the public who may easily buy from PIB, Paris in good faith, only to realise they have been swindled. Comments by the PIB left on online reviews give the impression that they genuinely care about customers. My experience of the company is that they fundamentally care about profits, not people.

5 Stars = Excellent with minimal or no problems. I would recommend.
4 Stars = Very good, and I would use again
3 Stars = Average, with room for improvement
2 Stars = Poor service or goods. I don't recommend.
1 Star = Gross incompetence/ dishonesty/ negligence. Stay away.
