I HAD just found out my mom signed up under my facebook referral. I had NO idea she did and she apparently had no idea it was one per household. I knew it was but i just found out she had an account. So warning to those getting banned. Follow the rules, ALWAYS put your REAL info in the surveys. If you are not comfortable doing that, do NOT do surveys then. Do not make up FAKE addresses. They will find that out. I have since told MY MOTHER to REMOVE her account, she has. Luckily she wasn't very active or i would've noticed points going up. If i had known, i wouldn't of allowed it. But they do not make it clear enough to people, especially if you do not go into all the TOS rules. THATS probably why a lot are getting banned. I REALIZE they do it to STOP fraud. But THERE ARE people who have family members who do join sites like this and other sites allow it just fine. JUST a warning incase you get banned because your brother has an account etc... I have expressed to them i am not out to defraud them and have emailed them specifically stating i had no clue. So be careful when you post referral links and tell your family in advance not to register or tell them to go to another similar site. Just follow the rules, quite simple. It is a great site though. Also, to get rewards, you need to invest TIME into this site. For me to get 5 dollars usually takes me 2 - 4 hours doing surveys. Depending on length of the survey. Some 60 point surveys can take an HOUR. SO IT IS VERY time consuming. At max a day, i have gotten 15 - 20 dollars with a lot of surveys that were 5-10 minutes each... in one day before. BUT they don't always have a lot of surveys. So yes it pays, if you put the time into it. A real job probably pays more but its good for those who don't have a job and like to voice their opinion for gift cards, cash etc. Plus they have a lot of contests. I won a starwars battlefront game in their starwars contest. SO IT IS legit... it is 100 percent legit.
I have been a member of prize rebel for years and loved it. I thought they had great customer service compared to some sites. Made an effort to connect on social media and free points etc.
That all came to a screeching halt when I was told I had made well over the amount needed and they wanted my tax ID info on a W9. I can understand this, but usually a site will let you know before you reach that point and then provide you a secure link to submit the information, or you can stop cashing out until the following tax year.
Not how it went with Prize Rebel. They actually wanted me to fill out the form and send it to them to their support email in an unsecured jpg file! Maybe some people do not care about giving out their SS# but I am not one of them.
First they locked my account so I could not cash out, then they unlocked it and sent an email saying sorry. Then I got another email saying they wanted the info and if I did not comply that I was again locked out and would not be able to cash out!
I expressed my concerns about the unsecure way they wanted me to send this info... I can't believe they could not even figure out a secure service to do this.
While I enjoyed earning a considerable amount on all my referrals there, I was not going to risk having my identity stolen over $1500-2000 in referral earnings per year.
It's funny this never came up in the last couple years as I've been steadily making that amount on my referrals. I can't help but wonder if they decided to single me out and ask me to do something that no one of sound mind would agree to, so that they could stop paying me the 30% referral.
Very disappointed in how this was handled. My last email I asked them if there was no way to submit the info in a secure fashion that I would like my account closed. So far no response. I will update if they do anything to redeem themselves.
Oh and for the record, I keep records and pay taxes on all my online earnings. My accountant keeps track of it for me, so it was not about not wanting the income reported, but the insecure and haphazard way they wanted me to do it.
Also if they had let me know this I could have also started cashing out to paypal and avoided this because Paypal is required to report earnings, which negates the earning sites not responsible for collecting the tax info. It actually causes a conflict when you have both collecting the info and sending out 1099s, because then it looks like you have double earnings.
Thanks for reading my review.
Got banned from all the survey sites for no reason after making 5 dollars...
A full scam when they ban you after spending hours on crappy surveys
Pesquisas remuneradas de boa qualidade, pagam direito, quase todos os dias recebo boas pesquisas, ótimo
