A hard pill to swallow
February 2, 2015

You know, Intuit/Quickbooks has an amazing thing going. I have had Quickbooks for my small business for 10 years now. I love the simplicity of it and how it streamlines everything for me as an owner. They get three stars instead of five because like so many other big corporations they have forgotten they set out to be there for small business and started raising their prices to renew every single year. I use Quickbooks payroll in conjunction with my service. They now charge over five hundred dollars annually to renew your payroll subscription. That is insane and a shame on them. I would encourage anyone wanting to purchase this to look at the cost of the Quickbooks itself, which they also force you to update about every three years. Then the payroll on top of that, it's quite expensive. Shame on you Intuit. You have gotten greedy like so many other corporations.

Best for everyone

I have used QB for our small law firm for several years. The latest version was QB Pro 2011 w/a subscription for enhanced payroll and protect data. We purchased a new bookkeeping computer so I decided to upgrade to QB Pro 2014. No problem w/the download and my saved data and subscriptions from the earlier version transitioned smoothly. A good price here on amazon and your...

Service has become slow and rude. Reuse to allow download of ADMIN rest to allow access to data from 2009. "WE HAVE DROPPED SUPPORT TO OLD SOFTWARE>>> YOU MUST UPGRADE". We need the date from the prior software.

Last year I was offered to transfer from Pro to Enterprise, they gave me an amount said it was for 3 years, then this year they changed it to 1800. 00 per year. Wanted to go back to Pro, they tell me I won't be able to keep my history. Has not worked since had a problem with taxes not being deducted from one employee, which they said was a data issue, so I am paying 1800 a year for Enterprise and other 500 for payroll and now 500 for one time data. Extortionists

I signed up for quickbooks online last week. The salesman said if I sign up both my businesses I'll get 50% discount. He also promised 24/7 live customer support. He was very pleasant and believable!
Once signed up, the confirmation email showed no discount!
I tried to call the customer support, but you get a cold computer voice that does not let you pass through! It says get customer support through your site, and it doesn't matter how many times you tell it, I cannot sign up to my site!
It took me several hours to get to customer service, and don't ask how!
Long story short, I canceled one of the two accounts. Then I tried to set up the one account I have with them. I paid extra for set up, which was waste of time, and still have problems. Then I tried to use the free support! She couldn't solve the problems, put me on hold for 20 minutes and then hung up!
Now I'm on a 24 minutes hold for someone to maybe call me back!
Avoid Quickbooks if you need any level of support!
Their support technical or else is nonexistent!
Horrible service!

Data should be revealed on exactly how many customers are caught up in mistakes made by QuickBooks faulty tax software filing system.

QuickBooks offers 3 levels of filing. The free version, of course, the customer supposedly has no recourse for their software glitches/bugs. Only if you pay for better tier filing would the mistakes lessen, and customers are offered minimal effort by QB to assist in correcting their errors.

Research data would probably reveal that the mistakes made by the software would indicate the customers who use the free version are plagued by software bugs & glitches, while the paying customers experience is far less glitches and fewer blanks/boxes are left unfilled.

When a customer files with Intuit/QuickBooks, the software supposedly rechecks/confirms everything is complete and assures the customer that everything looks great!

After the deadline, the IRS/State informs you that you left pertinent empty blanks when the customer was never prompted to fill or during the review confirmation- which means absolutely nothing. Empty blanks and boxes left unchecked are never prompted by the software to make sure the customer has done their part correct and accidentally skipped a blank or box. The software is supposed to fill in the blanks for you, that's the premise of the utility, it's supposed to calculate everything for you and fill the appropriate boxes, just not if they are using the free version.

I think QuickBooks is essentially "forcing" unsuspecting customers who experience problems with last year's taxes to pay for better tier performance this year, so the customer's new filing season is more glitch free, thus better than last year's audit.

I will not use their faulty bug-riddled software again. This is not the first mistake their software has made on my taxes. I experienced the same scenario a couple years ago with a couple good years in-between.

So, pay or get audited for their mistakes.

The FTC, Federal Trade Commision, recently launched an investigation into their practice for other reasons. Hopefully, the FTC can open their can of worms so honest taxpayers can be righted and Intuit/QuickBooks can be held responsible.

The price tag is on the upper side, but if you need a reliable accounting tool and payrols, this is the way to go.
