Got a stellar resume back after two weeks of worrying if they would do a good job. Thankfully my writer is as good as I could have hoped for and maybe slightly even better.
I love what they did with my old resume. The new one created looks very promising and I can't wait to see the results it yields in the job market (despite how stagnant it may currently be).
Love their free resume scanner and templates - love that sites like this provide so many resources that are useful for job seekers at absolutely no costs
Resume was very well written, I am deducting a star though because the cover letter seemed rather generic and something I could have potentially written myself.
Their resume checker gave me a lot of insight about my resume and is the most detailed one on the web that I was able to find and use for free.
I submitted a my complete (and I'm now realizing better resume than I would get from ResumeGo) in hopes of making it better. I also included some additional info to help the resume writer understand my current job. My first "draft" that was sent was incredibly disappointing. It was simply a rewording of ONLY my professional summary section with some adjectives added in. This draft did not include any other section beyond my professional summary…the work experience section had nothing filled in…
Based on this "draft", I had no confidence to continue with my writer.
When I reached out to ResumeGo for a refund, they refused to acknowledge or review this draft that was submitted: " To avoid any case-by-case arbitrary decision making we generally just follow our refund policy without making any exceptions. Our writers have different approaches when it comes to creating the rough draft depending on the specific situation of the client they are working with. Sometimes the initial resume is a very preliminary, rough draft that is meant to be worked on much more while in other cases, the initial resume is more refined and closer resembles the final resume the client will be using."
My response was: "I understand your refund policy is in place to avoid arbitrary decision making. However, has anyone actually reviewed the resume I submitted and the "first draft" that was given to me? To reiterate, this draft is my own words rearranged with adjectives added in. Though we are avoiding arbitrary decision making, this whole experience seems to be arbitrary. As a professional resume writing service, you should have guidelines in place for what a first draft should consist of both for your writers and customers. This lack of structure allows a resume writer to write a bare minimum draft of ONLY the professional summary and be paid $180 whether the customer decides to proceed or not. I have now spent $180 on a draft of less than 25% of my actual resume... The lack of definition of a first draft truly takes advantage of customers. The fact that you can support a first draft that does not include 75% of my resume including the actual experience section is concerning and takes advantage of your customers."
Very disappointing experience.
My writer did a great job with my resume. Nothing else to really say - I ended up ordering a cover letter afterwards and that was well-written as well. TY TY
I've tried 3 services, and this one was definitely the best I would say. I actually got to TALK with my writer (unlike the other services I've tried) and there was a sense of professionalism throughout the entire process.
For one of the other services (won't specifcy names) - their writer wasn't even based in US, and I can tell right from the getgo that the resume wasn't going to be great. Load and behold, I was right and the resume I got was something worse than what I could write myself.
I guess bottomline is, you can sort of tell off the bat whether the service you go with will end up being a flop or a score.
Tier1 service, everything went very smoothly with no hiccups to complain about. Either got lucky with my assigned writer or they are just all really experienced and good at what they do.
Their resume templates are amazing - way better than what I used to use for my old resume. Using online resources like these is imperative I think for job search and it's a lesson I needed to learn
I've began looking for a new job with the new year starting - thsi service really helped me fine tune my resume and set me up to get more job interviews. (Premium package ordered)
These guys are very informative and insightful when it comes to resume writing. My writer nailed my cover letter and resume and I got a job 2 weeks after using their services.
I received a very well written resume. Everything was pretty smooth sailing. I think with my new resume, I can definitely get more job interviews than with my old one, so props to the service.
Got my resume a few days ago and was super pleased with the results. Still a couple of things to talk over with my writer tomorrow, but all in all this was an A+ job.
I found them out from my parents originally, who wanted me to use a resume service.
I decided to give them a shot seeing how writing has never been my forte - I am in marketing so I'm not someone who's writing papers or long-winded articles very often.
I ended up working with a writer with a bit different background than me (he was in management), but marketing isn't a particularly technical field so I was okay with it.
I ordered on Monday and received my draft next week on Wednesday (so like 10ish days).
Though the draft had a couple of things that I sort of forgot to mention to my writer, it looked very well constructed and I was generally happy.
I thought it took longer than necessary to make the changes I requested (it should really only take an additional day, but it ended up taking 3)... but all in all, I can't complain because the end result was really promising and I have gotten a resume that is better than what I can do myself.
While it doesn't matter too much and may vary from writer to writer, I do think the writer I got was very kind and receptive to what I had to say.
Placed my order and got my new resume within a business week. Everything was very well written besides a minor mistake with one of my credentials. After a revision, I was set to go to start applying.
Solid work from my writer - don't have any complaints. Read an article about optimizing resumes for ATS and stumbled upon ResumeGo. Their writer did a good job with my resume and LinkedIn.
If you have any issues their customer service will not respond, and it is nearly impossible to secure a refund.
I raelly loved the resume I received from my writer. She was very resourceful and offered up an insider perspective of things that I wouldn't be able to do myself. All in all a great job.
All around solid job with all my job docs. I think everything was really well done and any concerns I had going into this went away after talking things through with my writer.
