Tcgplayer will unreasonably lock user out at their whim, make no sense
January 20, 2025

I used to buy and sell quite a bit on tcgplyer. However, at time i have noticed very illogical and unreasonable behavior that they do without any justification. A while back i was traveling oversea, and i try to make purchase to have it shipped to my hawaii address, my account was all of a sudden locked, they said it was automated system issue, but i have to keep contacting them to get my account unlocked multiple times and wasted a lot of my time when a new set was released and many of my chance to stock up on new cards were ruined. And i have experienced that a few other times where all i did was try to place purchase and i paid for them but they just refund me and don't let me by and tell me to contact customer service. What kind of platform do that, it defeats their whole purpose of letting people buy and sell mtg card in the first place.

More recently, i have experienced a disagreement with how tcgplayer handle a purchase i made on there as they seem to cover up for another dishonest seller who provide false tracking information and false shipment info on the package saying purchase i made is a return when it was not, seem rather shady. Yet tcgplayer said because i provide honest feedback they lock my account to cover up after one of their employee send me a message to my email acting like i was the other party who request feedback removed, essentially shifting the blame on me saying my account and email belongs to someone else which is fraud, what is worse is not only do they block my buyer account, they lock my seller account mtgcardforsales too and still show my inventory listed for sale up there, create a situation where i can not send out to customer or respond to them. I used to have 100% feedback with a few thousands sales on there, but the last two weeks i could not send out orders or respond to customers so i imagine the feedback for that store mtgcardforsales will be going down thanks to tcgplayer try to screw me over and destroy my store while locking me out of it, but it was just one platform and i hold the cards and can buy and sell and interact with my customer elsewhere since using tcgplayer or not able to use it do not let me buy, sell or interact with customers on there which negate the purpose of using it, i don't think tcgplayer deserve their share of profit on the cards i buy and sell there, and i am bothered that tcgplayer try to put the blame on me and my customers may not be aware it was not my fault i could not send out orders or respond to them these past few weeks, while tcgplayer ask me to clean up a mess they made of my store on there simply because they own the platform where cards are sold which rather than having to do that, i just lean from this experience and move my business else where and support more reasonable platform. Also, tcgplayer will lock user out at a whim without reason or logic and abuse their power, i don't think i should be using a platform that will lock you out and ruin your store like tcgplayer again because you don't know when they will abuse their power to lock you out again and again, and i will support other platform that is more reasonable and provide better service where they don't lock sellers out and try to put the blame on them.
