I bought a full-size latex mattress from The Foam Factory in Aug. 2013 to replace a failed box spring and mattress. I knew it would be delivered on a certain date and it arrived exactly on that date (it was interesting tracking it to the west coast from factory using the tracking number). It arrived, all 80 lbs of it, rolled into a sort of egg shaped bundle that has been highly compressed. By myself I was able to roll it into the bedroom and flip it on to the metal frame I had gotten, and had made a simple masonite platform to go over metal bars that would protect it from the metal support bars on the frame (a barrier over the frame bars was suggested by the sales dept at the foam factory, masonite was my idea and it worked!). I got it up on the frame just in time as the plastic wrapping it had burst and it was rapidly expanding. I scurried to get the plastic wrap off it and out from under it and the thing just expanded to full size. The only issue was I'd not had a way to flip it so that the cover was correct, the bottom of the cover ended up on top, and there's no way I could lift and flip 80 lbs by myself (female in 60s). I emailed and got prompt email saying this should not be any kind of problem, won't affect the mattress, and so, I let it air out (no particular outgassing whatsoever, as I had been told by them, only a slight scent of the wrapping plastic that dissapated in a couple of hours). As that was the only surface to sleep on, I made up the bed and wow, I'd so been avoiding going to bed from my old box spring/matt combo with deep sags and such, it was like sleeping on a cloud, this new bed. Almost a year now, and wow, it is as comfortable as night one. I could not be more happy with the purchase, the after-sale support email about it being 'upside down' and all. It's been a wonderful experience. I know if I ever wish to rearrange the furniture I will have to hire a two strong men, because I think even one strong man might have issues as foam like that wonderful latex is rather bendy... but that will be worth it. Because of the masonite panel (which I sealed) I have been able to rotate it on the frame, so to spread out the wear. Happy, happy, it was an excellent investment and a pleasant experience. I've recommended to others, but they seemed a bit hesitant just to try sleeping on a big old block of latex. Not me, I am so pleased to be able to get up in the morning with my back not hurting and just the sensation of being sort of floating and sort up being held up by the latex, rather than sinking deep into it. Wonderful.
