I want to share my disappointing experience as a Udemy Instructor, who tried to follow Udemy's guidelines, asked fair questions, and ended up being shut down for it.
I was given 14 days to either sign an affidavit or edit one of my courses, but before that time had even passed, Udemy disabled not just the course in question, but all of my courses. Even the ones with no complaints or issues. I was later told I could "unpublish" my courses, despite the fact that it had already been banned. That makes no sense whatsoever, is not logical, as I have no access to any of my courses. What's worse is the lack of transparency. I asked a simple, reasonable question: What exactly in my course is considered infringing? No reply. No explanation. No evidence. Just a unilateral decision that was final, with no chance to correct or clarify anything. It honestly feels like I was punished for something I had no idea what I done wrong, as Udemy did not tell me. I wanted to improve my content and make sure everything was right, but instead, I was shut down completely, with no opportunity to resolve the issue or even understand it.
I poured time, energy, and passion into my work. For Udemy to not only disable one course, but ban everything I had published, without explanation, is incredibly disheartening. If you are thinking to become an Instructor on Udemy, please think twice. There is no real support, no transparency, and no fair process. Once they decide you're a problem, you're out regardless of your intentions or the quality of your work. Instructors deserve better.
Udemy has been my go-to platform for expanding my skills and knowledge in a wide range of subjects. The platform's extensive library of courses, taught by expert instructors, covers everything from programming and digital marketing to photography and personal development. I appreciate Udemy's affordability and accessibility, allowing me to learn at my own pace and on my own schedule. Moreover, the platform's interactive video lectures, quizzes, and assignments provide hands-on learning experiences that reinforce key concepts and skills. With Udemy, I can pursue my passions and advance my career with confidence.
The course includes:
3 hours of on-demand video
Full lifetime access
A certificate of completion
Before buying the course, you can check the program on the website to see which topics will be covered, etc.
The knowledge I gained here has been beneficial. I believe everyone should be financially literate.
Udemy has been a game changer for my personal and professional development. The platform offers a wide range of courses taught by knowledgeable instructors at an affordable price. I love the flexibility to learn at my own pace and the convenience of having access to course materials anytime.
When I set out to get certified in different areas, I was at a loss since I needed many different certifications. The books and practice test manuals were beyond my purchasing range. Udemy offered a huge library that I could access anywhere from my phone or laptop. Didn't matter if I was on a flight to London or a quick trip to California. To date, I have not had any issues with their site being inaccessible. Purchasing courses and material is safe and simple with an easy and intuitive workflow from searching for courses to selecting payment to completing the transaction. Their customer service is superb to work with as they are able to answer all manner of questions pertaining to the service and issues that may arise.
I wanted to improve my Excel skills. The courses at Udemy helped me with this, they also gave me a discount. I want to say that customer service is at the highest level and training, although at low prices, is of high quality. The information that I received here and still receive, I can freely apply in my work, this is what I needed. The goal has been reached
I like the process of discovering new things. Classical education can be boring and I don't feel I can track my progress when in college. But here I learn new things daily and I like the online format of education much more. I've just started a new course in machine learning. It's really interesting.
For two years I was an udemy instructor, but this last month I was banned for no reason, I spent a month sending an email to 'Udemy Trust & Safety' <*******@udemy.com> I never received a return, they banned your account from your courses which took years to be done it destroys your life, and just leave you in the empty space without answering.
Purchased course to pass Network+ exam. It worked and I felt at a "sale" price, it was worth it. The only issue I have is that the Network + certification hasn't netted me a job in the pay range stated by CompTIA. I don't have a bachelor degree in anything IT related, so any jobs willing to interview me pay ridiculously low wages or require an IT related degree.
Their discounts are awesome! Choose your category, look for the sources with the highest rating and duration, and you'll definitely find something interesting and created by professionals in the niche. Last time I bought 3 courses each at 10 bucks. That was the new year sale, but they have sales pretty often.
There is a whole bunch of tutorials on Udemy to choose from. Most are paid, some are free but not always good quality. Its possible to find coupons to get free or ridiculously discounted courses so you can always get what you want for a really small price. Solving issues during a course is pretty easy because other students can leave comments on every video and ask questions and solve problems together and if its really serious the instructor will help out too.
I found courses that really improved my knowledge in many things. Their price change all the time, but always you can catch the time when it around 20 $
Udemy provides an assortment of courses at a reasonable price. So far, the classes that I have used have been good quality and helpful. However, I have also purchased some courses that I eventually failed to complete because they really didn't match my needs compared to the description
I took several design courses from Udemy. Got them with a 99% discount. Udemy is a great source for those willing to educate themselves. But always read reviews of a course before you start it. Otherwise, you might end up immersed into mediocre content. These days, almost anyone who tries hard enough can get their course up and running on MOOC websites and platforms, and, unfortunately, Udemy often falls victim to mediocre educators.
This site is the place you want to go to learn about almost any subject. Udemy's vast course selection covers areas from Art, Technology, Health and Fitness and much more Udemy has what you need. Udemy is not completely free some courses you do have to pay for but there are still plenty of free courses to choose from. Also the payed courses are still relatively cheap and is a good trade off in regards to how much you can learn. Each course also has a discussion panel in which people taking the same course can communicate. With this kind of variety Udemy is really a good resource for people in all trades.
I like the platform and feel like you get a good value when you catch courses on sale. Why not 5 stars? Several courses that I paid for, I found later on Youtube. When I mentioned it it was well past 30 days and past the refund point. SO just double check before you buy. Don't ever but things at the full price!
Udemy is working really good for me. I bought Unity3D and few other IT oriented courses and am really happy with them. Sadly, Udemy android app isn't all that great because of their video player. As for normal website - it's cool-looking and works pretty good.
I have enrolled in Udemy's "User Experience Design Fundamentals" course. I thought that Joe Natoli did a good job of teaching how to design web sites and mobile apps that users love and will return to again. I have some experience in this field, so for me the course appeared a bit superficial. I wish the course had a bit more depth and advanced content.
I bought a ux-design course pack. Two courses were great, they transformed the way I approached my design projects. Another course was outdated! With examples from the early 2000s! A total waste of time!
Answer: I would not recommend taking the beginner computer coarses if you have absolutly no computer experience. Even the essential skills for word is difficult without prior knowledge. They are too fast and go too in-depth for beginner stage. Not good...
Answer: Most of them are entry level courses that don't have any accreditation offered to students but there is a messaging feature that students can use once logged in to ask instructors if they have accredited status. As of the last search results about 866 entries have been returned for Reiki, some of which offer certification but not accreditation. I personally have not taken a Reiki course so I cannot comment on the offerings and quality.
Answer: It should indicate the presence of accreditation and type offered in the course description; most course listing allow students logged into Udemy to contact the instructor via messaging.
Udemy has a rating of 3.3 stars from 55 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally satisfied with their purchases. Reviewers satisfied with Udemy most frequently mention and free courses. Udemy ranks 18th among Job Training sites.
