I have used Upwrok.com for many years now. Recently, I got into a dispute with a freelancer who overcharged me $700 over a 3-month period. After we got to some resolution of my getting some money back, he was able to remove my honest feedback about the situation. You cannot trust freelancer reviews!
My name is Ime Ekpenyong, a mother of three children. I wanted to work from home and I learned graphic design by taking online courses. I joined Upwork as a freelancer 2 months ago. I was quite skeptical about getting jobs as I had tried other freelancing sites. In quite a short while, I have been able to find jobs consistently, even as an intermediate-level designer. I am so proud to be associated with Upwork and would encourage anyone looking for a freelancing platform to choose Upwork.
Upwork is a platform or marketplace where people go to find freelancers to work for them. As a freelancer, you can be paid per hour worked or a fixed price for the contract.
Clients looking for the best freelancers to hire are likely to be mislead by the Job Successful Score. This score doesn't reflect quality of the work, but rather how active the freelancer has been on the Upwork site.
If you are an elite freelancer I think you should build your connections outside of Upwork.
I posted my work and got contacted by a freelancer who convinced me I had to pay a milestone upfront, I thought that Upwork was a good platform and would protect me if this person was going to scam me, but they sided with the scammer and told me there was nothing they could do about it. I am never using Upwork again!
Didn't approved my perfect resume with no reason. Spent 24 hours of waiting and about an hour to fulfil their stupid specs with no luck, I'm located in US and their answer: too many programmers with your skill set in this area. Just stupid and unprofessional.
Upwork provide freelancer like us who leave everything behind and start relay on it!
Working with upwork and getting client is like heaven to us, we make money our own ND be our own boss.
Thanks once again for giving us this opportunity.
They have charging heavy commissions on the projects. Even they suspend account so frequently and their every customer support member come up with different reasons. Also there are some of the clients who give work to new ID's after submission of work they reports the freelancer ID and results in blocking freelancer ID and all the amount get reversed into the client as per Upwork latest rules
I'm just fed up with their services.
Most of the time people didn't know to solve the puzzle but their try too. Look me, I don't know what can i do or how much success i had. Now i still biting upwork and try to find my future.
Thank you
Elance closed my account for no reason First, they contacted me saying my account doesn't contain original content... without explaining what that means. I've had the same account for 3 years. All 4.9-5 star reviews. And after a week they notified me that my account is closed because the clients were not satisfied with my work... I asked to tell me who are those clients and why they didn't leave a bad review so I can respond, to which they replied they are not allowed to give me that kind of information and that is their final decision.
I just started using Upwork. It is great for stay at home work. It's super easy to navigate through and understand. All of the clients I have worked for have been wonderful. I would highly recommend for anyone looking to do extra side work from home!
Answer: They are horrible. Every freelancer I've gotten from Upwork has cost me more to fix the small job they have done. There's absolutely no customer service! I would stay away
Answer: This is not the place to inquire.
Answer: No, just 20% of your job when we talk about fixed price, and same for hourly but after some week it's been 10%
Answer: Go to Settings › Contact Info › Click the Close my account link. If you meet the requirements, click the button to confirm that you want to close your account.
Answer: I am a customer and have had a really horrible experience. Upwork claims a 100% guarantee before you pay anything. That is not true. The process is actually quite horrible. You put money in escrow. You only get your money back after a bad contract if the freelancer agrees to release the money. If the freelancer refuses, you get a bargain offer to still pay them something but still you are paying for a bad job you can't use. Then, if you refuse to bargain over a bad job, you are told that it will cost you an additional $389 to arbitrate with a 3rd party affiliate that the customer (me), the freelancer (scammer) and Upwork (ripoff enabler) has to pay. I took it all the way to arbitration with the end result being that Upwork decided that I was just too uninformed to know their policy and that they would give me a one time only refund of my original amount. What they didn't tell me what that they just gave me a "credit" of my original amount and that was the end. So I am still out the original amount and can't get my money back. This sight is a ripoff. Plain and simple.
Answer: Because of their policy changes which are geared towards the client rather than the freelancer. They have dug their own grave with their policy changes of late.
Answer: Go to Get Paid on PC or Mobile, you will see 3 dots in front of your payment method, tap to select edit/remove to change them. Go to Billing Method on PC under Billing Section and tap three dots to change (edit/remove). Thanks
Answer: Be part and see, dont look at the sold mine reviews people, upwork can bush you to reach.
Answer: I agree with Sam. This place is a scam. They have bad reviews everywhere. Katrina is probably working for them!
