This is the worst busness I've ever dealt with. If you can even get them on the phone. I waited over 2 hours the other day on hold just to be dropped when they tried to transfer me.Since starting SS disability I received 2 payments on 2 different cards. So instead of putting it all on one card they gave me 2 which just confused everything. For over 2 years I asked them to put all my miney on just 1 card. They agreed and said that it was not right having 2 cards,said they'd change it. 2 years later they changed only because I was receiving only 1 check as of recent. So many fraudulent charges every month and trying to get refunded is just a joke. I loose so much money every month because of this. I truly don't know how there still in business.,PS,they also have no problem lieing and have to me many times.

I spotted an unauthorized purchase of my account tried to notify them they would not even disputed until after it was paid that took me 2 hours on the phone they're not contacted a person that charged me had them to refund me call back took another 2 hours to get through just to have them tell me I've got to wait 7 to 10 days on my money mind you the whole time I'm doing their job the only person's been inconvenienced here is me the customer they've sat on their asses and did absolutely nothing all morning had me do their job for him and then still made me wait this is not the way business is supposed to work I don't see how these jackasses are still in business and to top it all off I'm the one that's got to pay the insufficient fund fees because they took money out of my account illegally again I'm the only person who did the right thing and I'm the one being charged this is been by far the worst experience I've had was a credit card company save yourself some time and aggravation don't use these $#*! clowns

Sept 10 reported fraud on my card. So they stopped the card and told me they would send a new card. I gave a new new address they said they would put a rush on it. They send that one to the in wrong address called again told them went to the address I said was wrong so I again have the address to send. Again they sent to wrong address so for the 3rd time they sent another one which I finally received all the while waiting for them to credit the stolen money from my account back to it which I was told would be today and surprise it's not there by wouldn't you know it they said the dispute form i was supposed to send never arrived. Which is not true i not only emailed them but fax to. I was told the 24th and that's what we it should be because you have my money my daughter and I get to sleep in a car because couldn't pay for our room, which came about when the money got stolen. All i want is my 265 dollars back some and my child can get a roof and some food. But this place has a bunch of heartless people that work there and like hurting children
They are unprofessional, rude, thieves and the man Juan who assisted me and my partner not only told me I was disrespectful for suggesting he take off his headset, because he had hearing problems, but called me an $#*! in Spanish, presuming I don't know Spanish. They basically will not release my funds after a stolen card had been replaced. SSI states that there is no reason for the card to be hogtied. It's now 2 days before Christmas and this payment we expedited by overnighting the card has been tied up in verification nonsense. I mailed in my IDs got verified and then still couldn't get a pin number. The employee Juan then admitted that I sent in ALL my data SSN, dob, address, and 2 photo IDs to the wrong address for verification. So I resend all my IDs and they still will not release the funds. They push me back to SSI. Do your own research. There are plenty of negative reviews online. This company has been holding funds deliberately, and I am seeking help from my congressman and maybe the AG too.

Please do not use this card for your put hard earned social security money. They are frauds and will steal your money, when you complain, they say they are going to investigate then send you a letter that says all charges were authorized. You ask for proof of their investigation and they send nothing that shows they actually investigated it, just a repeat of the statement they sent in the first place. And you cannot talk to the fraud department.oh that is a definite no-no. My mother was taken for over $3000.00. There were 72 transactions that were made in one day somewhere in California, we live in Texas, to a Walgreens photo department, over $2000, small amounts, 25-30 dollars a transaction. Would that not trigger them to put a hold on the card, call you or text you because it is not your normal routine? One would think so but they did not, their excuse was since COVID, many people shop online so we don't question it…really! I think it is an inside job so that is why their investigation is non existent. There were several transactions to Google vision, I don't even know what that is let alone does my 87 year old mother! And when you call them you are put on hold for literally hours! When they do answer they are rude and make you feel as if you did something wrong. They do not care about you or your money. For the government to suggest that the elderly use this card for their social security is absolutely insane. Please protect your loved one and do not let them use this card! My mom immediately took the rest of her money out and is now using a credit union where her money is protected. For them to prey on the elderly who live month to month on their small social security check is insensitive, heartless and down right shameful!

I had fraud on my direct express account while i was incarcirated $3,000 was stolen out of my account when i got out of jail i filed a fraud/idenity theft with direct express i even faxed them over FIVE TIMES proof i was in jail when this happen they turned me down and said thier was no fraud done i put in a complaint FIVE DIFFERENT TIMES and each time they closed my case the first time they investigated it for TWO DAYS AND CLOSED IT the second time they investigated it they closed it in TWO DAYS i have ssi and now im fored to pay back that money to ssi they are taken $80 amonth out of my check till the $3,000 is paid back i since left them and went to a REAL BANK direct express is the most horrible company to deal with i would suggest anyone who is useing them or thinking of useing them to think TWICE

Called yesterday and was on hold for 6 hours and never talked to anyone. I'm on the phone today for a total of 4 hours with no help. THIS IS RIDICULOUS.

I was denied a grocery store purchase, so I contacted the infamous Direct Express customer service, who claimed there was nothing wrong with my card,and that. MasterCard was denying the purchase (I contacted MasterCard; they are not authorized to deny any transactions.) The recommended complaint line for Direct Express is an email to the Federal Trade Commission, which after emailing them explaining I cannot access funds a available on my account, and that Direct Express/Comercia Bank, contracted by the U.S. Dept. Of the Treasury offers no resolution, the FTC just sent me a disclaimer stating they cannot access my account and to once again contact the disfunctional Direct Express customer service for more lies. They acknowledge that there are funds available; everything else is deception and smokescreens from liars guaranteeing if I go to another ATM, the card will work. Not true, as it's Christmas, and all transactions are still Wrongfully Denied. THIS IS A TRAVESTY OF JUSTICE AFFECTING THOUSANDS OF SENIOR AMERICAN CITIZENS WHO ARE HAVING THEIR RETIREMENT REVENUE WITHELD WITHOUT ANY RECOMPENSE FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT? GREVIOUS, SICKENING, INCONCEIVABLE PRACTICES BY A BANK CHOSEN BY THE TREASURY DEPARTMENT,AND STILL GETTING AWAY WITH IT? Money was fraudulently removed from an ATM. Direct Express denies this. There is a discrepancy on the date between what their record shows and what my account record states.My card was denied a day before the fraud occurred, so I reported it. According to my DE account record, the fraud happened one day in the future? Absurd! Direct Express handles money for the federal government, and is being sued in a class action lawsuit because they have ripped off many elderly, and disabled Americans on fixed income. This travesty of justice must be addressed by the Attorney General of the United States!

I disputed a bogus charge with Apple twice, after a week of daily communication I was instructed to dispute it with my bank BC no was their final answer.The amount in question was $158.99.I called DE for the first time ever in 5 years of being a customer.The first rep lady sounded nice but when I explained the situation I then asked a question in which she spoke over me and didn't apologize but told me in no certain terms she would get me to the right dept. & I wouldn't need to keep them on the phone explaining the situation when they could be answering other calls,just file the dispute listen & answer more or less.She then connected me to a man I told him my name and the specific charge, again before filing I had a question bc I've never filed a dispute with a bank or card issuer before.He spoke over me didn't apologize and when I asked him to pls repeat himself bc I couldn't fully understand where I had spoke also he raised his voice and asked fraud dispute or -?-?- Dispute,I asked what's the difference? He then said well and sighed then I went on a hold.He didn't tell me or ask me to go on or be put on hold briefly or at all, I stayed on hold for 1HR and 3 min.Already upset I was pulling up to give a rotten review & finally switch my DD and bank all together then all the sudden I hear a friendly ladies voice, VIOLET. Violet saved DE a longtime first caller customer tonight,she was kind, helpful, listened & sympathized.She asked questions and didn't get agitated when I went into detail, as she fill in all the blank spaces correctly she walked me along with her reading aloud the terms of each claim and where mine fit and did I meet this or that criteria. She was patient, friendly, professional and thorough. I was satisfied, with her anyway.some reps could use some extra or refresher course in customer courtesy & their app could offer more interaction features, I feel like it's not up to par with other unheard of banking apps. I have had direct express before, and I have had the direct express card for y1 ear, and I regretted it! They crack me up when they mentioned protection from fraud when they're the ones doing the fraud, they withdraw money from your account for no reason if you don't watch them they will take your entire funds, they are not trained to handle any situation, their rude, and disrespectful, they don't care about you or your problems because their the ones causing the problems with your funds, the sad thing is when the government take their funds back they don't replace it, if they do its only two times after that they don't refund your money anymore, and if you loose your card then you wind up waiting for 3 or 4 weeks for a replacement card,,, but the sad thing is that Direct Express is on the BBB as a bad business to work with they changed their names multiple times, and that everyone I know who is on this system has been robbed... the government has all these lies on how they protect us from fraud, and how they are the best for all of us when their are full of sh*t what ever bank that Direct Express is connected to is also committing fraud
Since I left direct express, I have not been facing fraud take some advice and leave direct express or you will always have money missing from your account, and dealing with untrained workers, and if you decide to stay then good luck

This is the 3rd time this Bank tried to steal my disability payday they do it because they are scammers & criminals.
I've been a direct express customer for over 10 years and never had any issues until the last 2 years. Back in 2022, I noticed fraudulent activity on my account and contacted DE and was able to get a refund and a new card. From January 2023 to October 2023, I noticed I had numerous fraudulent charges from Amazon, door dash and lyft on my account. It total to around $1042.00. Contacted DE to dispute my charges and received only $742.00 refunded back to the card. They also reissued me another card. December 2023, I haven't had the card a month before more fraudulent activity from Amazon was on my account, so I lock the card for the remaining balance and notified DE again to dispute the charges. So I was fixing to go to Walmart to take the remaining money off the card and noticed my account was -$598.00. I called DE again at the same time receiving 2 letters from the fraud department stating my claim was approved for $138.00 and another letter stating I was denied my claim and they closed the case. I contacted them after waiting a 1hr and 25 mins, transfer 3 times but the 3rd time they hung up on me. I called a 2nd time 2 transfers and was told this time that a merchant showed proof of the fraudulent transaction so I ask what merchant they couldn't give me that information and that I have to wait a total of 120 days after the investigation in which I already waited 45 days. Told me to call back on February 4,2024 to get answers on the investigation. It's sad social security office won't help assisting or addressing this matter. My child social security benefits has been stolen from this bank institution and I suggest a class action lawsuit against this bank. I can be reached at *******@yahoo.com.
