This is the worst busness I've ever dealt with. If you can even get them on the phone. I waited over 2 hours the other day on hold just to be dropped when they tried to transfer me.Since starting SS disability I received 2 payments on 2 different cards. So instead of putting it all on one card they gave me 2 which just confused everything. For over 2 years I asked them to put all my miney on just 1 card. They agreed and said that it was not right having 2 cards,said they'd change it. 2 years later they changed only because I was receiving only 1 check as of recent. So many fraudulent charges every month and trying to get refunded is just a joke. I loose so much money every month because of this. I truly don't know how there still in business.,PS,they also have no problem lieing and have to me many times.

Every month I use this bank it let's me down. They do multiple transactions on my account freeze my account and tell me there is no deadline on when I will receive my funds. This has got to be the worst customers service I have ever seen when dealing with people and their money. There really needs to be an investigation Into this bank.

I received a text directly from us direct express stating that my pin had changed and to call them if it wasnt done by me. I called them. They had no idea what i was talking about even though the VERY FIRST prompt asks you if thats why youre calling. I was trying to find out if a new card was being issued and to cancel it as it was going to an old address from 2 years prior, and to change my address. For some reason, this was a very difficult concept for ANY of the agents i spoke with to grasp. I ended up deactivating the account, just to keep my information safe.

All I have ever been able to do with the card is withdrawal money at an ATM. I can't pay bills with the so called account, there is no routing number or account number so I don't feel comfortable calling it an account. I can't pay for gas, cash app money to pay a bill. Nothing. This is a card for people who are plainly stupid about the benefits of a regular prepaid card which comes with a routing number, account number, transfer funds selection, order personalized checks, pay bills, and so forth. I wouldn't suggest this card to a homeless bumb.

Today, I discovered that I was shorted $88 of my SSI payment although the statement shows I got the entire amount. This is the second time this year I've been ripped off by these scam artists. Of course, it's nearly impossible to get a live person when you need one. I believe this is deliberate. When you do finally get someone, they are rude and unintelligent.
On Jan 19,2022 I had 2 transactions at the same place. Both transactions were charged double on my account causing me to have a hefty overdraft. I called them on Jan 28, they said it would take 24 hours for my money to go back to my card. Well 30 hours later I was still overdrawn. I called back, this time I was told it takes 3 days to go back to the card. Well today Jan 25 still not back to my card. I called again. The agent said I need to wait 2 more days. I at this time lost my patience. I told her I call bull$#*!. It has been 6 damn days and I want my damn money now. She transferred me to a supervisor. Just 2 minutes into my talk with the supervisor, we either got disconnected or she hung up on me. Tomorrow Jan 26 I plan to go see my county attorney and bring theft by deception charges. Theft is what it is. According to direct express, each transaction 1 has been paid out while the other is sitting with a hold. $300 of my money has a hold so yeah I call total bull$#*!
My disabled mother has been trying to get her card for over a month, they kept sending her through fraud account and I have personally been paying her bills because they keep giving her a run around and will not let her access her money. We have sent over her identification through email like they have asked and they keep requesting us to do it every time we call which makes her wait even longer. Then they start start hanging up on her for no reason and declines her request to speak to a supervisor. They are not a good company if they are holding out elderly money like they do! The have no real security protocol in place. They people are uneducated and seem immature as if they have teenagers working for them. It's been a month and my mom still doesn't have access to her money! Terrible
Why on earth is the government using this bank? I don't have any choice because this is where the government is sending money! Their mobile app is trash! They said we can now transfer funds from this TRASH bank to our personal bank but I can't fill out my bank information. I tried signing in to their website and I can't login but can login to my mobile app which is useless!
Tried calling Direct Express all day yesterday and today, for the recording to tell me that they have "heavy call volumn" and to try my call again later and then hung up on me. If you can't take people's phone calls during the day, it doesn't take a genius to determine that you need to hire more people. But hey let's inconvenience the customer not ourselves by any means. And if you have that many people calling in everyday, you must have huge issues with your service. Get with the program people.
Took me 3 hours to reach a live person on the phone. When you dial, if no one is available, you get disconnected.
After 3 hours I got a live person but he stated he did not have the authority to complete my request and he'd have to switch me to another department. I waited online for an hour and no one came on to speak to me. So frustrated I finally just hung up. 4 hours to try and speak to customer service on a debit card is just ridiculous.
I recently learned that someone hacked my DE debit card and made... wait for it... 1600 purchases and DE never notified me. The agent told me it wasn't their responsibility. I've never waited for less than 50 minutes and, sometimes, 2-1/2 hours. The agents are incompetent and abrupt (have a quota?). I've been looking for a good lawyer in case Direct Express denies my dispute claim.

I do not recommend this at all. If you ever were to have an issue you will have to deal with them over the phone and if you need to prove your identity it can be close to impossible. The SSA no longer helps people to reach them since it was taking 4 hours to reach their ACH person. When they reissue a card sometimes direct express won't see the funds but the ACH people do see it, like there is a disconnect between comercia and direct express. It's a horrible mess.
How is it possible once a transaction take place it is erased. For example, primo water from florida took 54 bucks and reverse the charge." Gave it back" After removing my credit card they went back in and took $47 illegally. I cant find the $54 transaction and i dont under how they got the card information after it was profeasionally removed.
If I could give this company a 0 rating I would. Don't try to file a dispute with them. Someone can walk out of your house and wipe out your bank acct. And they say no fraud found! I don't think anyone there does their job. Find a different way to do your banking. They screw over the low income and needy.
They don't care I have called and most of the time I get some snobby jerk who won't listen to what I am saying. Or starts talking over me when I am trying to explain something. And another well if you don't have what they want they hang up what the hell. If I was you I would avoid this place. They are not helping people and they don't give a crap if your having issues
This company is absolutely DREADFUL. At first they were awesome. But now it seems like we're getting constant notifications about making "fraudulent" transactions which result in your card getting declined, just for something simple like getting food or clothes. Also, there was NO correspondence that they were merging to one card instead of having two separate ones which now results in waiting on a new card with a payment we can't even use right now. This is very inconvenient because we have to pay bills and get groceries. Customer service is halfway decent, except you cannot speak to someone at the other call center because of "Heavy call volume" which has been happening for DAYS. I would not recommend this company to ANYONE.
It's now been twelve days since the refund was initiated, seven days since the money was debited to the business' account, but I have yet to see it. What could possibly take this much time except blatant and gross inefficiency? I want my money!
I enrolled for this card at the SSI office and it never came. Customer service? Only answers for people with cards. If you say your card never came, it says "call volumes are too high! Call us back." But call volumes are evidently always too high to take your call. They are STEALING our SSI money.
This is a horrible company. They have the worst customer service. It takes a long time to resolve issues. They are not user friendly. They are a big inconvenience when it comes to resolving disputes. Its difficult to get anyone on the phone. The automated phone system is very inconvenient when trying to resolve matters. Don't use them. Open a bank account.
Horrible rude customer service my mother locked her card up by putting in the wrong pin too many times we called to get it resolved and the card was still not working they talked to me and my mother like we were dumb after an hour on the phone and 5 different people I finally got someone to help us turns out it was something they were doing wrong on their part if I could give a 0 star I would they need to learn how to talk and treat people with some respect absolutely horrible my mother has terrible anxiety and by the end of the phone call she was shaking and crying
This institution does nothing to accommodate veterans. They're system has gotten worse! They treat you as a second class citizen, and will not budge to make it right. A veteran should be able to access his account at any time, and your system should not be out of commission for veterans, but not your Comerica clients. Something needs to change!
$600 fraud on card reported 11/22 and was told paperwork was sent out and needed to be sent back by 12/4. Called for three days and was on hold for hours each day to be told the paper was mailed out 11/23/22 but I didn't receive paperwork until 12/7 and it needed to be back by 12/4 so no provisional credit could be given. Was given 8 days to receive and return the paperwork. Horrible service.
Please use another method for federal benefits.
Now possibly I may get my money back in 45-90 days

Especially with the banking issues we have going on. This would be a terrible company to have. I was unable to get a hold of them for a month and a half then when I did online transfer to my credit union so I could write a check for my rent, it processed then the very next day they went and took it back without contacting me still couldn't get a hold of them so I transferred my money in person for my local credit union in closest account out. I wouldn't recommend it to anybody unless they enjoy it, not being able to talk to anybody About their money and having their transfers taken back for no reason except maybe treason lol just kidding about that last part

Customer service representative interupts me and when I try to explain she talked even louder until she hung up. So I called back and asked for a supervisor. She was just as bad. It's it just me or does it sound like you're speaking to someone in Mexico? You can't understand half of what they say. This company sucks, stay clear. Unknown charges, on top of the atm fee, these dirty bags charge you.85 every time you use the atm. Greedy company. Most of their customers are elderly and veterans. Shame on this company. I had to put a star to finish this or they wouldn't have got that.
Direct Express doesn't care about anyone that have to pay for medication, rent or food! They decided to change debt card and now the card is 4 days past the first of the month and I had to put off my bills, rent and medication! As soon as the card comes I'm getting rid of Direct Express and put it in a bank!
This card company allow someone to change my address to steal from me luckily I caught it in time. They allow them to express cards to New Jersey and Utah and charged my card I requested for money back because they clearly saw it was fraud and they denied my request. I have never seen nothing like this know it's fraud and want protect there customers at all when I say run I mean to run do not allow your funds to go here because they are absolutely no help they are worse than the people trying to steal from you because they want do anything about the situation or protect your funds
