This is the worst busness I've ever dealt with. If you can even get them on the phone. I waited over 2 hours the other day on hold just to be dropped when they tried to transfer me.Since starting SS disability I received 2 payments on 2 different cards. So instead of putting it all on one card they gave me 2 which just confused everything. For over 2 years I asked them to put all my miney on just 1 card. They agreed and said that it was not right having 2 cards,said they'd change it. 2 years later they changed only because I was receiving only 1 check as of recent. So many fraudulent charges every month and trying to get refunded is just a joke. I loose so much money every month because of this. I truly don't know how there still in business.,PS,they also have no problem lieing and have to me many times.

Horrible... You can't get through to anyone. Even after being on hold for literally hours, you get immediately hung up on. Customer service is terrible, the website is garbage, and they make you jump through hoops, for weeks some times, for the simplest of things...

It's the first of the month I made a few transactions and than they completely froze my account. Everytime that I call I get hung up on after getting a recording saying "They are experiencing a high call volume. This happens EVERY DAMN MONTH! Now I can't get through to a customer service agent so they can unfreeze my damn card! Me and my kids need groceries, our phone bill and rent paid and I keep getting hung up on! This is totally unacceptable!
When I read the info blogs on direct express, it says call number on back to talk to someone. If anyone who reads this review has EVER had an acct here because our s.s. Checks are deposted here, then you already know that they don't answer the calls for s.s.recipients. After waiting 45 min once just to see if they'd really answer, the line on their end disconnected. It's gotten to be a bad joke.

I've called direct express 4 times in the last two days I've waited on hold yesterday for over 2 hours and Still never got in touch with a human. Now I have called again and still waiting on hold for over 30 minutes and still have not got to talk to anyone because all I get is put on hold and it says all our reps are still busy.
Save yourself the time and money and open up a real account these people are worse than a loan sharks. I learned the hard way. They put my backpay in a expired account hadn't used in over a year even though had a registered account with them. They blamed ssa. Then charged me 13.50 to send a new card that they never said I was paying for. Then another card, for what I don't know making it a total of 3 cards. Just a rip-off. I'm closing all 3 after I withdraw my money bye bye direct express tricks no good
They take money off your card so you have to pay four dollars to get a new card and if you need your card before the end of the month you have to pay 13.75 to get it before 5 or 10 and the government only give you money to live on but y'all take our money so I'm calling the Better Business bureau because it's not Fair to people on a low-income
Our government should be ashamed forcing seniors to use this company,they changed cards on me with no notice,it is lost in the mail,I am 65 years old and depend on my benefits to survive,I have been calling the 800 number for 3 days with no answer,I will be homeless without my benefits

This company absolutely sucks. I've had some debits on my account from some unknown company. I asked Direct Express to check into this and have this rectified. They denied my claim because they could not get in touch with the company. The first time they stated to me that this company did not have a fraud department. Which was a Little Caesars in a whole another state that I didn't even live in. Now it's a automated deduction that I did not notice until around my birthday when I decided to use this account. And I noticed at $800 hadn't taken for my account. Do you know Direct Express the night my claim immediately. They are the worst. I am changing my account to Chase.!

The Directexpress fraud services help the identity thieves steal your money. A website called Askcrew fraudulently took $234 from my account. Askcrew agreed to return my money but investigators closed my case and told me to pound sand. Never ever ever ever trust Directexpress with your SS check. The attachment is from the email where the thieves tried to return my money but directexpress helped them instead of me the customer.

Direct express is by far has the worst possible customer service of ANY company on the planet! I don't see how the government can possibly use these $#*!s for the distribution of their funds! Did they put out an ad that says "if you are the dumbest $#*!ers on the planet with the worst customer service, please apply and distribute our funds to our old and disabled"? I firmly believe there is one $#*!ing person with one $#*!ing phone sitting in the corner of McDonald's answering the phone for direct express! $#*!ing TERRIBLE! I hope the guy that runs that place gets hit by a truck! A small truck so it takes a long time to die in pain! $#*!ing $#*!!

I was defrauded for over $400 from my social security/ SSI check, Direct Express - through Comerica bank gave me a provisional credit while they "investigated", I used it to cover my losses, then they reversed the credit the next month and took it out again! It was over half my income! I found the scam simply by googling the website that charged me! I waited over 12 hours to speak to someone in the fraud department 2 days in a row. They are so inundated with fraudulent claims they could not be bothered to even Google the website that took half my social security disability check!

Card is constantly getting declined for NO reason whatsoever. Then they "flag it" for suspicious activity and lock the card. When I call to get this issue fixed, the rep was SUPER rude and aggressive. He kept speaking over me, and wouldn't let me explain the situation AT ALL. They eventually claim they had to re-issue a new card, but sent it to the wrong address - even after thoroughly making sure that it was sent to my new, updated address. They assured me that it is being sent to the correct location - but nope! It was mailed to the old address - and I PAID $17.50 for expedited delivery. Not only did they charge me for the fee, but charged me AGAIN when I never received the card replacement, as they had to issue another. It's just ridiculous, and we will be getting a new direct deposit bank VERY soon. No more of this crap! We can't even spend any of our own money! How inconveniencing.
I called direct express to dispute a $2 charge I told her to let me deal with the charge as it had a phone number on the charge, and the representative who was very rude decided to cancel my card and my rent is due. I begged her not to cancel my card and she did it anyway and the manager was just as rude. Worst customer service I have ever had. I will never call them ever again.

They've taken countless amounts of fees for me ridiculous amounts, like this year I only had this card til July and they took $25 from me everytime you buy fast food they hold anywhere from $0.50-3$ EVERYTIME. Then they never answer their phones can't get ahold of them ever. I've switched to current mobile banking and let me tell you it's been a blessing! NO FEES or get my check 2-6 days earlier and on top of it free atms all over the place and I get a free overdraft fee of up to 100$ best mobile banking I've ever came across!

I called there online to activate my mom card because my mom does not read or write and she gave us hell and then gave us a translator I was helping my mom with the numbers and she said that I can not even give my mom the info. My mom has to speak. This is the worst card you can get they are so hard with everything. I will recommend you not to deal with them mind you you wait an hour in the line until they answer.
Feels like living in a hostage situation because i takes days to get ahold of someone leaving a disabled person to starve with the constant locking up the cad or flagging it for fraud when making purchases or making it hard to pay the bills
How embarrassing that I swipe my card for five times with money while on my card but the system is down so I can pay for my groceries and had to leave the store and leave my groceries behind after spending an hour and a half in the grocery store how embarrassing
When a deduction hits your card and you didn't make, you have to jump through hoops to finally get your money back on your card. And it was a mistake that was made by overseas company very obvious I didn't make it. They still make you write this ridiculous claims letter before it approved. If it gets approved.
Issued a new card to the wrong address, they the put funds on the new card without it being activated and didn't tell me anything about the new card.
I cannot get the card reissued online because it was not activated, I have tried, but they reissue the old card.
I cannot get to my funds, I was moving in.
I cannot move in without payment.
I live in my car, in utah, in January.
Avoid this company, they are not malicious or scammers, they just don't care; they have a government contract, your complaints mean nothing.

I'll never forget how I made a complaint to direct Express. Just for them to accuse me of stealing my own money. And the way they acted towards me. I wasn't even surprised. I expect them to act the way they did. Times have changes and companies are treating people like $#*!. Next day. I pulled my money out. Closed the account and I put my money where People don't treat me like a criminal.
I do not like direct express at all. Cause they are ripoffs and they don't listen and block the card and hang ys. That is very $#*! up. Bad experiences. No one should deal with express. Go to avid is better they overcharge and 5ake money from your card ATM.
There are 4 $250 withdrawals since May 2022! Nobody can tell you anything about how it happened. They claim "I" had to have done them! I keep receipts for everything and OBVIOUSLY someone would know if they did them! 1 was nade made back to back 2 minutes after I made a withdrawall at a Circle K ATM in Florida and others were days after I made withdrawal from a Circle K in same location! Called relentless times trying to get answers from supervisors as well to be refunded! They make it like "YOU" must have done it but don't remember! Lol I hear so many of the same stories! Hackers are robbing people blind! $1000 I got ripped off!

If you need to talk to someone about a problem with your account don't bother you have to call 50 times in a row just to get it to not hang up on you because they set up a automated website so they wouldn't have to work and even when you do get someone on the line (expect it to take about 2 hours btw) they tell you there is nothing they can do even if you tell them you where assisted with the same problem before
Deactivated my present card and put my deposit on new card and I don't even have the new and never been activated. Will be seeing an attorney Monday due to their carelessness. Look them up online they are a complete fraudulent company.please read their reviews.they we're involved in a lawsuit in the state of georgia.please stay away they can care less about anyone. Type their name and type lawsuit and you will see. And also I will be calling my local tv station to explain my situation they left and put me in.
