This is the worst busness I've ever dealt with. If you can even get them on the phone. I waited over 2 hours the other day on hold just to be dropped when they tried to transfer me.Since starting SS disability I received 2 payments on 2 different cards. So instead of putting it all on one card they gave me 2 which just confused everything. For over 2 years I asked them to put all my miney on just 1 card. They agreed and said that it was not right having 2 cards,said they'd change it. 2 years later they changed only because I was receiving only 1 check as of recent. So many fraudulent charges every month and trying to get refunded is just a joke. I loose so much money every month because of this. I truly don't know how there still in business.,PS,they also have no problem lieing and have to me many times.

This Comerica Bank, a government run bank, has by far one of the worst customer services. The hairs on my body rise everytime I have to give these reps my Social Security number. But to be fair they all seem to have excellent training on how to hang up on the customer or give no service at all programs. If you work for CoAmerica/Direct Express there should be nothing to be proud about. You might as well work for Bank of America; same crap of service.
Did not get my paid for expidted service 5 Days ago, no personal interaction, as soon as I called and transfer Ed the operator hung up on me with out answering the expidted call. I'm on disability and that money for rent ecetra, now I have late fees posting do to csr's hanging up intentionally when n Thier phone is called. Terrible, service and terrible work ethic. I'm a Military Veteran. Do not use this so called customer service company. The worst service I have ever had calling FBI to stop this SCAM once and for all.

I have had card sense 2020 no issues but sense they changed their app alot of problems can only make certain purchases which sucks. I'm switching my card. I love direct express cause they charge no fees but if this is what happens because of security issues no one will get their money. There is such a thing as over doing security. I can't even get thru to them was on phone waiting 30 mins not cool ur suppose to b SSA approved how can u b so bad. I had a replacement card an then they send me another card an had me activate that one so I had 2 new cards in 1 month which screwed me cause now I can't pay bills or nothing it's hit an miss with paying ur gonna cost me to b shut off cause of ur security issues get it to gether man plz

My son has been on SSI for 7 years and we never had a issue with Direct Express until recently. My son had to have a lung transplant and we had to go to St.Louis. We hadn't used but a few dollars off his card and one evening we went to get food and all his money was gone off the card. So we called, there were several back to back purchases from the card for Amazon 299.00,199.00 197.00 and 86.00. First of all I have a Cashapp for Amazon purchases but I rarely shop Amazon, never in history had my card ever had Amazon purchases on it and do you know they claim the investigated it and say we made the purchases, never saying where the packages went or anything. I believe the Direct Express people are the ones stealing money off peoples cards because my friend said the same thing happened with her daughter. I have since reported them to SS Administration to further investigate and I am removing my sons funds to my personal bank. They are some true scammers!

You really do suck you need to release my monies from my social security. Your agent took maters into her own hands. I been going through this for 2 days trying to get through I10 more times. I did every you said to do. You can't just keep my money. You need to let me have access to my monies. Monday morning I will be calling social security. To send me a paper check or another bank. You people do not know what your doing only to hold monies. I need my money to buy food and stuff. But you people are eating. Drop my card in store. Security guard pickup card while behind me. During that time I was putting frezze on my card. I don't have any money. To issue new card I have to pay 4.95 or 13.95 to rush it within 3day. (more like 3-5) 10 days to get new card. Will not unblock card. I'm going to cut the new card up. Change my direct deposit to someone (greendot, Chime.) better reviews and customer service. Upset Senior.

Old card expired. New card can't be activated since phone contact says too busy. Call back... click. Cannot do on phone app. Cannot do on site. So, I am stuck without MY funds. Credit card companies do automated activations. I want my funds. Who can pay bills or groceries or gas when the old card is not valid and the new card is not valid. Makes me think they just want the funds for a few days of building interest. This really stinks. Gold in the mattress folks; gold in the mattress.

A live person at Direct Express is impossible to reach. I must get up at 5:30 am in order to reach a live person if there is a problem. After they cancelled my card, they issued a new one and now when I use it they decline the new card. Last week I needed to call, two times I was on hold for 55 minutes, I hung up. With the third call I held for 66 minutes before I could talk to the rep. I see this as another way Direct Express enjoys more float revenue, using my hard earned social security money to make more money for Comerica Bank, already YUGELY uber rich. Disgusting what our lazy elitist elected official overlords have passed on to us through their egomaniacal privatization done to help their privileged wealthy "friends" at our expense. Rules they make but don't have to live by demonstrates this is not a democracy as is alleged.
They wont send me my card and they have money $#*!s tell me to call someone else and hang up I was injured serving us in army all I have to live on very frustrated 2nd month and they have it and wont give it
Your payments from social security end up on the card about 25% of the time from social security administration. 75% if the time you end up on hold for 1-3hrs. I see why we don't get anything done in this country.

The app never works! You have to redownload it every time you want to check your balance! It's so frustrating. And even when you know your passwords right it tells you what's wrong! Every single time I try to open the app I have to re-download. It tells me to register my card.
This place sucks you can't get ahold of a live person I've been trying for 3 days and if you need to get money off your debit you can only get $2,000 at one time then you have to wait a certain numbers before you can get any more I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone

After input of User and Password directs to a page where it offers TWO Selection Options "Either/Or" Send a Code to your Registered Phone Number or to your Registered email address (Fields already provided)...PRESS the SEND CODE and it gives you a dialog Box with an Exclamation Point that reads "Required Fields are missing"?

If I could rate this business any lower I would. I don't know why Social Security signed me up for a Direct Express card when I already have a bank account. Since you can't even send people money with this card and I needed to pay my mother, I tried to verify my identity and my bank account so I would be able to transfer money from the DE card to my bank. Well at first I sent in my ID and they didn't accept it, so I had to send them my social security card and birth certificate too. They rejected all of my documents due to "inconsistent information" or some bs like that.
They told me to go to the Social Security office to file a request to get the money back from Direct Express. When I got there the guy didn't even know that was a service they offered. His coworker had to help him file the request. It's been months later and I still haven't gotten my money back. I have almost $4000 in SSI backpay stuck in that DE card and if I don't get my money next month I'm going back to the SS office to figure out what's going on. I have no idea how Direct Express is still able to be partnered with the government after all the negative reviews on here and other websites exemplifying their shady business practices. If I didn't know any better I would say it's a concerted effort to steal from the old and the disabled.
I receive SSI payments on this debit card through direct Express. On July 5th I noticed that there was a fraudulent charge on my card and I verbally told direct Express that the charge wasn't mines, they had me fill out a fraud form and send it back. Today August 23 I called direct Express to follow up with my claim and I was told that it was closed out. The reason it was closed out was because, I told them that my daughter has used my card to shop for me when I am unable to, they told me that I couldn't do that!I expressed to them that I have a degenerating hip and sometimes I can't walk and I live with my daughter! They will not pursue the issue to get my money put back on my card. I wasn't even sent a letter, email, text, smoke signal NOTHING telling me of the conclusion. I just want my $ 89.99 back! Direct Express needs to do better! They are literally helping these thieves to be successful at taking people's money.

My 86 year old mother hasn't had electricity or water due to this company locking her card and we have made many attempts with them to unlock it with no luck I don't recommend this place at all.

Sad company who does not answer their phone and basically steals money from people in need. I pray that the poor SSI and Vets will get better service when this contract runs out.
They're is no way of talking to a live body at all do not for any reason sign up with this corrupted company you can rather get money deposited to a chime Zelle or cash app account it's free and they have live body's and online chat available at no extra cost unlike "DIRECT EXPRESS"

Why haven't I changed to a different bank. I'm almost sure I can even though I get government funds. They have some of the worst customer service reps. There have been times that I can't connect with them over the phone for 2 days. First on hold then after ten minutes they hang up. It isn't right that you can't talk to your bank when you've just been hacked and your money is steadily dwindling from your account by someone other than you. I did get my money back from them for that hacking, but
It took a while. I also can't figure out where my leftover money goes at the end of the month. My summary only shows the amount I receive monthly, and subtracted from that number are the debits. I asked where my money was going, that after 3.5 years I should have accumulated some cash, and to this there was no answer. He politely excused himself and hung up the phone. I'm thinking that they have been ripping me off for some time. If you are with this bank I would like to know if the same is happening to you.
